Kenny Vaughn........... my man........ playing that Albert Lee model Music Man like a champ....... he's just got it ........period........my kind of player
She emotes & is such a great musician, songwriter, singer= real talent. I pray she regains the ability to play guitar since her stroke or heart attack.
Both guitars we're great, the slide and lead, however the lead guitar player has to be from another planet! Just unbelievable the finger manipulation and speed with complete and at the risk of being redundant total control !! Stunning!!!
Find Otis Gibbs on UA-cam. He does a lot of interviews with Kenny Vaughn and all of the people he’s played with over the years. Still shredding with Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives.
Great song Lucinda and performance by the band. No fancy outfits. No posing. Excellent mixing. This is professional, "I really appreciate it; thanks for adding some Joy!"
@@Msdrivensoul Kenny Vaughan never recorded on any of her albums, and toured with her '97-'00. John Jackson never recorded on any of her albums, and toured with her '97-'99. Jim Lauderdale has recorded on many of her albums, as well as toured with her extensively.
One of the great singer/songwriters. Her bamd should be named holy shit. That's all people say by when they experience her and the band live. Overwhelming and awesome. I was stunned into silence in Austin.
What a GREAT live performance. I love Lucinda's voice and songs, but this is over the top kickass! Both guys playing the fenders totally rocked the house. The sound quality on this recording is top notch too. Rock on Lucinda!
This gets 2nd place for "best one chord" song next to Wang Dang Doodle IMHO. So sorry about Lucinda having a stroke, she is so awesome and it has to be devastating. Same thing happened to Memphis Minnie. I hope I can get through this deal we call life and still play and sing. Be grateful of what you got, before it goes away.
Dang she wrote a song about my 89 year old mother. She can suck your energy, joy and lifeforce out of you in less than 5 minutes....... When it gets rough I play this and let loose. Nothing worse than losing your joy...
Best rave up I've ever seen,. She always come with the best musicians and never fails to remind us of the essential business great art can play when we open the door wide to it.
Man, what a performance! I’ve been lucky enough to see Lucinda many times and she always delivers such raw and honest performances. Can’t wait to listen to the new album.
Cousin Kenny now playing with the Fabulous Superlatives (Marty Stuarts Band). Awesome band. Saw Marty last year. Kenny is still the most underrated guitar player in music IMO.
Yes - and this dipshit who has a national top 20 Country Music Countdown told me with certainty that her voice would NEVER be on country radio. I wanted to pull his eyeballs out one by one.
To say it's a treat to see Kenny with Marty Stuart & The Fabulous Superlatives is an understatement. They're all extremely talented & multi instrumentalist. Kenny has been a part of the band more than 20 years.
I think we can all agree that Kenny V .and the cat on slide - absolutely killed it - that + Lucinda is joy !! I don't know what other female singer songwriters could write and perform Changed the Locks , or Joy - she is an American Legend..G.
I love Lucinda! Reminds me of my 1st serious boyfriend who couldn’t keep his noodle in his pants. Funky ass rocket song!!! ❤❤❤ Wore me flat out just listening Whew !!! Have seen her perform 2x’s in Tulsa, OK 🇺🇸, great performances!!
Teaching children about more than two genders/sexual topics is grooming, just a reminder you were on the pedophile side of life once you wake up and out of the propaganda of either side.
She was friends of Tom Petty, and he played her frequently on his radio show “Buried Treasure.” While not clones by any means, I can see a lot other one in the other. It would have been great to see them perform together. Petty was a real benefactor of hers - encouraging anyone that heard him to search out her music.
Kenny Vaughn........... my man........ playing that Albert Lee model Music Man like a champ....... he's just got it ........period........my kind of player
Sat in a dark room for 5 hours listening to this on repeat before filing for a divorce. Can relate to what she is feeling.
Hope it went well. Amen
Shoulda went n got some booz n sluts....thats the story here compor'
Maybe that’s not how we should be making decisions
No. It’s EXACTLY how we should be making decisions
Oh, I can definitely “feel” what she’s singing about, too. I’m a lady and it reminds me of my 1st serious boyfriend, what an azz hat he was.
At 6:59 Lucinda and Jim look at each other and smile after John and Kenny tear it up. Love moments like this, respect.
Her band has always been beyond spectacular, and nobody has Lu's voice that is packed with raw emotion
She emotes & is such a great musician, songwriter, singer= real talent. I pray she regains the ability to play guitar since her stroke or heart attack.
5:10 to 6:50 possessed. This lineup is incredible. A perfect moment in time.
Cousin Kenny is on fire
Car Wheels On A Gravel Road!!.. That whole album is a number one kick ass record!!👍👍
Both guitars we're great, the slide and lead, however the lead guitar player has to be from another planet! Just unbelievable the finger manipulation and speed with complete and at the risk of being redundant total control !! Stunning!!!
That's a young Kenny Vaughan, isn't it? Still that great, and you can still hear him play for tips in Nashville some nights.
@@jeannieann That's him, with the fastest strings in the country
Actually they're both lead guys and both are incredibly talented. Kenny Vaughan and John Jackson.
Saw Kenny Monday night playing blues in a diner. He’s 70 now.
Just because one is tall and nerdy looking, does not mean one cannot shred on guitar. Great performance!🤘🤓
Find Otis Gibbs on UA-cam. He does a lot of interviews with Kenny Vaughn and all of the people he’s played with over the years. Still shredding with Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives.
Real live rock music. No bullshit. No pro tools, pitch correction etc. People who can play and love it. And Lucinda? A national treasure.
Kenny Vaughan
- Guitar, Backing vocals
John Jackson
- Guitar
Jim Lauderdale
- Acoustic Guitar, Backing vocals

I was trying to reckon the line up
Wowwwwwwwweeeee
Seven years of my life in the dumpster. Anywhere is joy without him. Love this song.
Amen, also without her :)
Great song Lucinda and performance by the band. No fancy outfits. No posing. Excellent mixing. This is professional, "I really appreciate it; thanks for adding some Joy!"

My God why didn’t know of this band before!! They kill every note and sound!
It's not really a band. Just a collection of great musicians backing Lucinda on this tour.
@@hooskerdu1 they tour with her a lot.

I´m totally blown away by how they performed this song. Incredible! What a band, and Lucinda is supernatural!
I believe that the Young Man playing lead has to t from another planet! The speed and finger manipulation and dexterity are mind blowing!!!
@@williamrichards3707 That´s Kenny Vaughan! And I agree!
What a fantastic performance, so happy for Lucinda’s triumph.

Didn’t know about Memphis Minnie’s stroke. Both MM and Lucinda from here in New Orleans.
I have been listening to The Album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road for 20 years. This is by far the best version of Joy I have heard.
I found my joy listening to Lucinda Williams.
They absolutely SLAYED it!!!
John and Kenny are amazing! Grate music!
I've watched/listened to this a thousand times and my reaction is always the same: WOW!

when you hear a live version of a song and immediately know nothing else could possibly top it
John Jackson et Kenny Vaughan se donnent à fond et prennent leur pied ! Deux grands musiciens qui embellissent le travail de Lucinda Williams.
