Andrea you are so good at what you do. Thanks to you I like Swiss German more, after 14 years of not speaking it at all. I speak German but in zurich is important to understand more Swiss. Thanks for this present, really
Thank you for the new video! Looking at the bread reminded me of a very funny cultural difference between how I grew up and Swiss people. We were staying in the beautiful Grindelwald and our Swiss host was asking what we needed from the shops and my Dad was explaining about the type of bread he usually ate, which is packaged in plastic and pre-sliced (and very often full of artificial preservatives) and our host was very put off saying it was not real bread and brought my Dad to the shop to see what "real bread" was like 😂 After that trip to Grindelwald we changed the type of bread we ate at home, too! Much nicer to have fresh brot!
Zopf isch das, Andrea 🤗 Das heutige Thema ist sooo schön! Ich habe bei Migros oder Coop Schoggibrötli, Gipfeli, Müsli und Milch für Frühstück gekauft^^ Merci, liebi Andrea 🤗 Freue ich mich auf das nächste Thema!
Great video! Just fyi, we call schalotte shallots in the USA and usually go by either the French word Brioche or the Yiddish/Hebrew word Challah for Zopf
First thing - learning vocabulary 🤓✔️ The second thing - learning how to order food in restaurants 🥗🍛 Please Andrea 😇🙏🏻 can you make a video on that? You have a lot of dishes that are so confusing and hard to pronounce 😅 P.S Thank you for being a truly outstanding teacher. Your passion for teaching and your dedication to your subscribers is obvious in everything you do. ❤️
Would it also be okay to say Exotische ässe?? 😊😊 I have did research and it says that there is really no right or wrong way to write in Swiss German because everyone speaks differently from canton to canton. 🥳🥳🇨🇭🇨🇭
@@SwissGermanBeginners GO MI!! :D SCHWIIZERDÜÜTSCH STARK!! :D 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭 I denke d Schwiizerdüütsch Sprache isch d Sprache für mich! I bi so guet mit es! :) D isch en Mirakel! Mini Schwiizerdüütsch ha definitiv abghobe!! ☺️☺️☺️
We use also french words instead of standard german words. Of course, if food or brand is not from Switzerland, we use that foreign name. In your example Chips, the most famous Swiss Chips company was inspired by the USA and that might be the reason, why we call them "Chips" and not "Crisps".

Yes, we have many of those
@@SwissGermanBeginners some other languages also do that
