i did not see that assassination coming, but neither did your opponent! Great battlereport. You managed to show everything important happening, while not making the video overly long. Great editing!
I really like the format of your battle reports. It must take a lot of work but they're the best on youtube and are as educational as they are entertaining. :)
Nice game! Just as a comment, at 10:47 when the eliminators charge the halberdiers, that is not a legal charge. Once you enter the melee range of the charged model you cannot leave it, even if going through him and exiting at the back means that you are engaging the model.
+Francesc Massanes This is a rule not many people know about (I certainly didn't until I made the same mistake a few weeks ago), so hopefully people get to see this and don't make the same mistake.
+Francesc Massanes You are incorrect. Once the charge target is in the charging model's melee range, it must stay in the charging model's melee range for the entire charge. Note that has no reference to the charge target's melee range. One may charge into and out of the charge target's melee range, so long as the target is still in one's own melee range. Ordinarily this would trigger a free strike, but the Kayazy Eliminators cannot be targeted by free strikes due to Acrobatics.
+Thomas Grable This is what I was going by when making that move. Francesc, are you referring to an errata or Infernal post or something that clarifies this further? Now I'm really curious.
+WarGamerGirl After further review, it looks like the problem is that the Kayazy Eliminators melee range only extends to their front arc. They cannot charge to a point that would leave the target outside their front arc (models must turn to face the direction that they move). Chalk it up to experience and remember it for the next game.
I hate to nitpick, and it didn't end up mattering, but Cylena is not an eligible target for eVlad's feat. Valachev made her friendly Faction, but she's a Character model, and his feat is non-character only. But, as I said, immaterial, and an excellent assassination! Keep up the good work, you have some of the best battle reports on the net.
You can't charge with Acrobatics the way you did it at 10:46 for example: as long as your model doesn't have a 360 degree front arc (like the Eliminator), it's illegal to move through the charged model's base - and turn around. Your charge target must always stay in the charging model's melee range.
Nice game! Your opponent needs to get paint on the rest of his minis, though. ;o) I imagine you must have been taken aback when the Great Bears of Gallowswood vanished from the face of Caen, but you held it together and pulled out the assassination victory. Excellent job, and I look forward to your next battle report!
Oof, bit of a worse one rules wise, but the errors didn't really matter in the end, so that's good. Someone mentioned the illegal Eliminator charges already. Cylena is a character, btw. ;-) I do want to point out, I really like how Brooker measured Hyperion's run his first turn! Tape measure out in front, blocking everything beyond the distance he wanted to move. It's hard to measure huge bases like that well, and I've personally been getting a bit frustrated with other opponents reverse measuring and end up over measuring. A specific example I can think of, is an opponent measuring the range of his shorter gun first, and thanks to over measuring reverse, we both ended up seeing the range of the longer range gun. So, props to Brooker for measuring the way he did! A couple tips, you mentioned Admonition, so that's good. He did remember Apparition on the Chimera turn 3. Apparition does trigger turn 1, and since it's a place effect, you may have been able to apparate out of the forest turn 2. It's a bit over 1.5" for a meduim base, so if your 0.5" melee leaves the forest, you can apparate completely out later. Just something for future games, should it come up. Last thing: Funny thing about tramples. You don't get back strike bonus if you end your movement in the front arc of your target. The attack roll is done after movement is completed, and that's when the check is made for back strikes. Too bad you hit anyways with that 11. =P Reference: privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?134735-Tramples-and-back-strike Anyways, good game, still a fun watch. I need to finish painting my Cassius list... Your Nyss make mine a bit jealous. =P
+WarGamerGirl Good game. Have you tried cavalry with Vlad2? Man-O-War Drakhun seems to be quite terrifying with his feat. Also Ulhans can do a lot under the feat.
First off just wana say you do a great job on your battle report videos, my group and I really enjoy watching them. One thing you did made me do a double take: it was for Vlads feat, it affected the correct amount of models but it only affects non character and if i am correct Cylena is a character inside of a character unit. Now granted Cylnea ended up not doing any damage so it ended up not mattering, but I was just curious as to if this was a minor overlook or something I am unaware of was making this possible. As a Press Ganger things like this always come up so i always wana make sure I am accurate, which is why I'm making sure there isnt something I am missing.
+benjamin Rodriguez You are completely right. Cylena is not a proper target for the feat. I've played this list several times and I'm used to just choosing on of her Nyss for it. It just happened that, in this game, she was the only Nyss left and I didn't think about it. I'm really glad it didn't have an impact on the game.
I have a question at 10:46. Can Model charge through the target even it have ability to move cross enemy models? I mean, charge attack said you need stop when your target is in your melee range then face it or you fail. You don't have Circular vision, your melee range only at front arc, you just cross your target and turn 360 around to face it. Is it a legal charge attack? Or something I miss it?
"Then there is the Colossal from Ios. Its Starburst Cannon has the opportunity to consume any soldier it touches. You do not become disabled because you never even take damage. He robs you of your opportunity to show the enemies the might of the Motherland. It is bu-" Pay attention maggots, the Kommander knows of what she speaks (though I suspect she didn't expect to have a literal example so soon lol) :)
Once again a great report! Was looking grim for the motherland a while back there, but you pulled through! Are you attending events and if so, have you considered doing a tournament report? Would be nice to see how you would fair and what pair you would take. Best regards from Sweden.
Scary scary elfses! There's not a lot of elves in my local meta, but recently there's been at least one guy playing them regularly. We've still struggling with how to adapt to that. Stealthy shooty elves, that often seem to ignore anything like cover or intervening models, is a scary thing indeed. Ironically, the caster I've had most success with, against them, so far has been pSeverius. You know, the frail old guy with paper armor. :P
Little rules niggle on this one I thought you might care to note: Your eliminators can't charge something they move over. A charge requires you to not let your target leave your melee arc once they've entered it, and if you go over the model you're charging then you've done just that. I'm not sure it would have mattered in the grand scheme of things as you likely could have hit things behind the front line anyway, but still, it's good to note for when that isn't the case.
Khador includes Sylys and the Nyss. They're fighting against their fellow elves. A story based on this battle report would be very interesting, very cool.
Nyss aren't Iosan they're a different breed and Khador took in the majority of Nyss refugees after the Legion of Everblight almost annihilated their people. Sylas is basically a stalking horse for the Ret similar to Eiryss. Don't trust elves who show up promising to help your Warcasters.
psycojester I know, but the Nyss were once the same as the Iosans and still worship the same pantheon of gods. The Ret certainly don't want to lose Nyssor as well. There's definitely going to be some good emotional conflict in any story about this battle report.
.....sorry am a 40k refugee and its a common "joke" with 40k that if somthing does not make sense its forging a narrative. Ie necrons and blood angels been best bros.
As a side note the Hyperion should be dice + 2 vs a Juggernaut. He is pow 22 with concentrated power. I think the ret player popped feat a turn too early
I like to pretend this is one epic storyline following the heroes of a particular Khador army. This week's episode Vlad leads the Khador in the defense of a small village against a crusade.
the officer of the invictors needs a 6 to hit the assassin in melee? the assassin is defence 16 in melee oO even with flank bonus...this monster has what melee stat exactly? oO
I have to say i'm playing eVlad alot recently I find the outriders do SOOOOOO much work under HoF and I have double eliminators, Full Iron fangs, Iron fang kovnik and MOW Drahkun as targets for the Feat
Retribution player, you have agreed to do a Batrep on the best WMH batrep channel...so, get your stuff painted, or play with already painted models! Play it painted!
The best thing in this game is right on the page 5 of its rulebook, wich says "put that book down and walk away, slowly". Thats exactly what you wanna do if you plan to buy this crap ;)
you need stronger opponents it seems like either your opponents either dont really know the game or they're throwing games to you. you win far too often with weaker list than your opponents
***** That is correct, but I was originally talking about the fact that WGG won again (through the same action). Cant remember seeing her lose a game at all ...
+Reverie Watch some of her older battle reports, the 5th or 6th one vs trolls was pretty brutal. By the way, war casters that can close games is something that khador pays for by not having much in the way of support models(i.e. cygnar's journeyman war caster, protectorate's choir, trolls krielstone)
Actually got my first game in with my two player battle box. Your videos are super informative and help me learn the rules better!
i did not see that assassination coming, but neither did your opponent! Great battlereport. You managed to show everything important happening, while not making the video overly long. Great editing!

Wow, that feat turn for Ret was BRUTAL. Good bye great bears, good bye nyss.
I enjoy your enthusiasm while talking about the game. Genuine, almost childlike emotion there that I love seeing on gamer's faces.
Love the channel, clear and concise batreps with lots of explanation. good for vets and newbies alike :)
Nice game!

I'm going to try that Issy list, just going to swap out the Invictors for MHSF+ UA and an Assassain for some additional pressure.
I like the way you edit these together.
Doesn't critical consume only affect the model directly hit? 8:24
+Zach Sarchet Not in this case. It's wording states everything hit, not directly.
Very nice out of left field assassination! Didn't see that coming at all.

jesus christ ret's second turn was brutal
Holy shit no wintergaurd deathstar.

Vlad and Eliminators work very well together. You seem to take a liking for the Devastator. Is he really that good?
did the ret player forget his thresher in the 2nd round?
@wargamergirl have you considered doing battle reports for other games? And have you considered putting out more of everything?
+Cory Monson She has done other stuff but you have to look through past vids. She did a good malifaux one.
I like to pretend this is one epic storyline following the heroes of a particular Khador army.
This week's episode Vlad leads the Khador in the defense of a small village against a crusade.
Great quality video as always!
Yay!! New batrep! You need to get another bat rep with Menoth. Mostly because I like seeing my faction played =P
the officer of the invictors needs a 6 to hit the assassin in melee? the assassin is defence 16 in melee oO even with flank bonus...this monster has what melee stat exactly? oO
What you didn't bring the Vlad2 theme force with all of the Man-O-War units? So disappointed. :P
Ever tried Uhlans with Vlad2? If not, you should ;-)
Saw it was against Ret so I had to watch it immediately.
great video, wish you got more views out of it. I like this style of commentary
I have to say i'm playing eVlad alot recently I find the outriders do SOOOOOO much work under HoF and I have double eliminators, Full Iron fangs, Iron fang kovnik and MOW Drahkun as targets for the Feat
Would love to see another Malifaux game up soon :)
Where do the wooden objective markers come from?
+seirre Looks like Tectonic Craft Studios' steamtrack objective marker.
Congratulations on winning the game. As a bonus you now have some bear skin rugs. :)
Fantastic videos! Might have to see what Patreon is all about :)
have you considered playing butcher 3 ? or irusk 2
+casper Splidsboel I played Irusk 2 against Circle Orboros a couple of battle reports back =)
+WarGamerGirl Please give Butcher or Zerkova2 a try. I know you don't like butcher but just try it once for the videos at least
Comon Issyria, you begged to die! No admonition, no camp, eliminators still on the board, and then staying in the zone without even clearing it..
I like how you show damage on jakes
Retribution player, you have agreed to do a Batrep on the best WMH batrep channel...so, get your stuff painted, or play with already painted models! Play it painted!
errrr how about: go fuck youself pretty boy.
nice game, thanks for the great work, keep make more
you are great
:3
Non-Character Friendly Faction Models for the feat
Apparition is field dependent 😊
What a come from behind!
The best thing in this game is right on the page 5 of its rulebook, wich says "put that book down and walk away, slowly". Thats exactly what you wanna do if you plan to buy this crap ;)
"oh no my army is getting slaughtered! hmm, I guess I will be forced to do an assasination. bummer"
WHY... why did you take a troop list against the elven colossal?!
You make your own list without knowing what your opponent will have in theirs...
+Ethan Nunofyourbeezewax there are no excuses for defeat victory requires no questions
+Ethan Nunofyourbeezewax and she still won.
*removed from play*...are we really at games workshop level allready... x(
Noooo! The greatbears did nothing again~
+xxlildevilxx29 It's okay, they had their day in the sun a few battle reports back against Circle Orboros =)
This game inspires me to kill more elves in my meta. Down with Ios!
MORE WARDOG!!!
IMHO deserve more time and effort to painting.
close game if he played it safe with his war caster he would win it but gj on the finale charge
200 point battle. Next month. =D
just keep admonition on issyria and u cannot lose this game dude.
war gamer girl I'm in love
you need stronger opponents it seems like either your opponents either dont really know the game or they're throwing games to you. you win far too often with weaker list than your opponents
Skipped the Game, watched last turn.
Khador won again by charging the Warcaster spamming him to death.
Nothing new to see here folks, move along!
Vlads entire game plan is trying to force the game state to the point where he can pop feat and assasinate. The game is in how you get to that state.
+Reverie someone doesn't play warmachine...
*****
That is correct, but I was originally talking about the fact that WGG won again (through the same action). Cant remember seeing her lose a game at all ...
Her meta does seem to come down with random cases of suicidal positioning quite a bit.
+Reverie Watch some of her older battle reports, the 5th or 6th one vs trolls was pretty brutal.
