I have no idea what is going on, being a 40k player, but its the only videos I enjoy watching, not knowing the rules :) I like the way the match is shown, with the blowpipe music in the background, showing off the map after every turn and having a cute dice box for rolling and the graphic for damage is also really neat. What I enjoy in this game is the interactivability of the units and feats, how for example clouds or walls are summoned as effects on the battlefield, or how you steal away souls, teleport units, use telekinesis for shenanigans etcetc. I like that tactical depth in the way and get reminded of the 1st and 2nd edition of 40k when this was exactly that kind of game :)
Friedrich Faustus have a look into warmahordes if you have the time and interest. I've moved to this from 40k for afew reasons and found it's really fun.
This was an incredibly good game to watch. Nice to see how Circle and Trolls are played well. Man THAT dice roll! Also thanks to Miranda for a) providing a non-Khador game, whilst Khador games are great I think this will be a good direction for the channel to go - especially with this channel's production level.
Haha, great way to get through Krueger's feat! =) Thanks for having me on the channel again! Usual questions answered: Game Mat is from Frontline Gaming Zone is from Muse on Minis Flat wood walls and objectives are from Tectonic Craft Studios AOE slider is from Greenman Designs Inc Circle feat & faction tokens are from Advanced Deployment Circle's fury and standup tokens are from Broken Egg Games. I highly suggest not getting the standups, as the acrylic thickness is inconsistent and can/will break the bases as you try to insert them. They do offer them flat, get those. Frenzies do work that way. There's a 5 step process to determine the model frenzied on and you randomize between all eligible targets. 1: Enemy model in melee range 2: Friendly model in melee range 3: Enemy model engaging 4: Closest model in LOS 5: Closest model Even though the Gorax was in Ghetorix's melee, he is not counted in step one, thus ineligible to be randomly frenzied on. I'm sure I'll explain that again. =P
I just got into Warmachine, and I've taken to watching battle reports. Yours are by far the best I've found. The narration is very clear and easy to follow along. As a new player, these are very helpful and fun to watch. I only ask that you feature more Retribution. :)
Awesome report. What I love about your reports is that they are cut and edited. Hearing banter of the players is fun when you are playing, but when watching a batrep I just want to see the game. Keep it going! Love to see some Legion!
Good report although I play Khador so I missed them, one idea might be when talking about lists is if one of the players is taking a theme list let us know what tier it is and what bonuses that gives
+ShadowFighter88 The Massive rule gets shared, which states they can't be pushed, knocked down, made stationary, nor moved by a slam or throw. Colossal Movement and Gargantuan Movement is where they specify they can advance only during their normal movement and can't be placed. If it helps you remember, look at Circle's battle engine, the Celestial Fulcrum. There is VERY good reason why that BE has a special rule on its card stating it can't be placed.
+Mandragora Dravgis What did you find so intimidating? Granted, it took me almost a year of playing Circle before I could play them well. Once I made it above that learning curve, it became my favourite faction!
canadianized honestly the strategy. This is the only wargame this scale I've seen where you can flank from far off to the side like the Stalker did and it'd work, though it only worked because Kreuger did some tricks to get closer and have the Stalker in his control range. Usually the baord is too small or army-control mechanics are too important to risk having a portion of your army in reserve, angling for a better position to make an important strike. That and there's the fact that each side is getting totally clobbered. I didn't expect that rolling tower to do nothing but kill one little guy before it got owned by Mulg. Normally that's game over. All this while destroying two coin objectives and keeping control of a strip of land contested. I'm not sure I can do all that at once, nvm build a list with all those objectives in mind.
+Mandragora Dravgis Fair enough. Telekinesis is a very tricky and useful spell in the right circumstances. Frank didn't foresee me TKing Ghetorix into the Shifting Stones to kill Mulg, and like you heard at the end, he didn't expect the Stalker to get TK'd, underestimating the reach Kruger has with it. RNG 8 is phenomenal for a spell like that! As for Mulg crushing the Vault, I placed it there to guarantee that Kruger would live that turn. That big of a base means that minimum 2 Goads are needed to get to Krueger. It does help the Vault if it rolls more than one shot each time, though. =P It certainly takes a lot of time to start seeing all the tricks that Circle can perform. It takes time to watch videos of others playing, and I needed to travel to a place with higher level players to see some of this stuff work before I got better. So, if you can, go to conventions, play in Iron Arena the whole time. Get inspired instead of intimidated, if at all possible. A lot of tricks with Krueger that I've learned have been from reading and listening to stuff James Moorehouse has put out. I know there's plenty in the Circle community willing to talk shop, many much better than I am. Keep in mind, Frank and I have played these Warlocks against each other many times, so not only do we both have practice with our lists individually, but in this matchup in particular. That being said, it still depends on what you want out of this game. If you don't care about being competitive, then no worries. Have fun! There's no point playing if you don't enjoy the game.
canadianized Thanks for the advice. And believe me, as much as I was crushed to see Mulg break the tower so quickly (and isn't that a Gatorman unit with no minions in your list? headscratcher) I was on the edge of my seat when you put Ghetorix into play against him. I'm the biggest class of Tharn fanboy and when that last attack came in dropping a Heavy i thought would stay in play all the way to the end, well, let's just say I'm glad you couldn't hear me cheering at my screen all the way in Albuquerque. x2 when the stalker finished off Doomshaper.
+Mandragora Dravgis Well, I had 3 minions in my list: the Vault, Feralgeist, and Victor Pendrake. The only thing Minion specific with the Vault is if you wanted to pull a soul off the vault to add a Fury to your Warlock. Kruger also doesn't have any Faction only abilities outside of Inspiration. Everything else meshes well, and they can be pretty effective protecting and working with each other. I'm glad you enjoyed the match! I have a lot of fun playing these!
+flairlock A charge is a type of movement followed by a type of attack. There is a time gap after moving, before attacking, that you can cast spells. For full proof, here's the most recent rules thread on the specific move I pulled. Look at how quickly and simply it got answered, too. privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?234640-Charge-and-Telekinesis
We know you LOVE Khador, but if you had to Pick a Horde Army to play as well, which would it be? Since you like the Synergy of Khadors army, I guess you;d pick the faction that mirrored them as close as possible right?
+Donald “Lightem'up” S Thanks! And while we do have some Skorne and Cygnar on the channel already, the whole idea behind me "presenting" other games is to get a little more variety into the channel =)
+Никита Ершов Yes, he was outside of feat. It may not show on the camera well, but that was easy to tell for us playing. Kruger was in a great spot to measure his control area and tell. As fir fire, the Stalker took 2 damage to spiral 4, and it's tracked properly at 16:09
+kriswise Broken Egg Games. I VERY strongly suggest AGAINST the standing tokens. IN my Kickstarter, I got 15 tokens. You see 5 of the 6 that are useable without breaking the stand and having to file the token down to keep it from breaking. If you get them, I would suggest the flat versions.
+MrMalorian Strangely enough, I still like it more than the resculpt. The new one looks too cartoonish for me. Still, and ugly but amazing little bastard. Go Team Canada WTC!
I really enjoyed this one. I like all your reports, but getting to see other factions with your production quality is awesome! I would like to see more menoth on the channel, it's lacking the will of the creator it seems.
+Barry McIvor Heh, thank you. It usually takes people a few seconds of looking at it before they start to understand what's going on in the little boxes =)
+lord17c Yeah, Frank and I talked about that afterward. He debated taking a free strike and going for it... and I saw it wondering if I was going to die. The tipping point for him to decide not to was the 4 transfers I was holding on to, and how hard Pendrake is to kill in that situation. DEF 18 against anything he can get to him. He'd have to pay to trample (deny a Pendrake free-strike) leaving only 4 attacks to buy. He can't kill me with just him. Pendrake and fleeing Runshaper are MVPs for me, for sure!
blasphemy! It's a Khador channel, I come here to see Khador smash stuff. Now I say this as a subscriber that I don't really care what she uploads. The production level is top notch I'd watch her throw Bologna on a wall. just saying! I mean no harm nor foul , and wish you the best in this new year.
Trollblood placement of the Runebearers killed him. He literally had the game in the bag easily, but was too busy using his Mauler for throwing his own models at Druids. Not sure why he didn't just take a freestrike, let them die/lose some boxes, and obliterate that Gheotrix instead of using an Axer. Numerous times during his turns, I se emultiple paths that could have lead to the Mauler walking/charging towards the Ghetorix, which would have easily ended the game. Pretty poor play, in my opinion. His start was pretty promising, but it went downhill fast. Also, knowing that a Stalker is knocking on your door on your flank dosn't mean advance up the board with your caster from a safe, tenable position. I'd rather keep the caster safe rather then move up so you can force a EBDT to kill some stones and Pendrake. Seems odd that he was playing fantastic until Circle began going downhill so fast, it wasn't even funny. The Trollblood player could have easily shifted to the other side of the board (away from the Stalker and Ghetorix)with his caster, sent the rest of the Runebears to tie up the Stalker, and have two beasts to handle a crippled and knocked down Krueger. I know it sounds harsh to judge plays at the time of a game, but when you have the game in your hands like the player did at the time, just sit back and take your time, not move up hastily and cost yourself the game over trivial plays. And this has been a pretty common trend I have been noticing in a lot of the videos seen here. I love the quality of them, but it gets to a point where its odd choices and irrational play that makes no sense to me. It's fine to mess up on a few rules here and there, but messing up on rules and messing up continously on something that was easy to notice just seems too odd for me.
+Nick Woodward... I agree... I too questioned many of the choices of the Trollblood player but also know it is always a bit different in the fray of battle instead of watching from the stands. It was a good game... I hated seeing my Trollbloods lose yet another match on WarGamerGirl... They are now 1 win 2 losses... Really felt Trollbloods had this one sad loss for us... but a good victory for Circle.
I have no idea what is going on, being a 40k player, but its the only videos I enjoy watching, not knowing the rules :)

Trollbloods: Scared of a man with pointy stick
Chad Troll: HERESY! *Yeets the cowards into the enemy*
Good to see more players on your vids! It's always good to get more people involved in the production.
So happy to finally have a good channel for watching Warmahordes! Keep it up :)

the dice tray was a nice addition, had a difficult time seeing but not hearing the dice, made my own dice rolling sounds lol.
I would love to know what the color shade of the Dire Troll Mauler is.
I would want exactly that for my army :x
All of these miniatures are so beautifully painted
Good report although I play Khador so I missed them, one idea might be when talking about lists is if one of the players is taking a theme list let us know what tier it is and what bonuses that gives
Can battle engines be moved outside of their activation, or is that restriction just for Colossals and Gargantuans? I can never remember.
+ShadowFighter88 Battle Engines have some of the Colossal restrictions but not all of them.

Aww, and here I thought you'd decided to go dabbling in the wild side of the Iron Kingdoms. :P
I liked it. it intimidated me to the point where i know I'll never play Circle competitively, but it was a very fun battle to watch.

Can you cast a spell in the middle of a charge? I thought it was considered a movement and you cant move a little cast a spell and finish movement.

Great report! Very well played by both and love to see close games! Question: Are those play mats for terrain? If so, where did you get them?
Nice game, good to see a non-Khador match up for a change. I was rooting for the epic beard all the way...
Was the Stalker at 17:26 out of Doomy's Control Area? Or you just miss to damage him by feat?
Also was stalker damaged by fire-cont?

Glad to see the Canadian swag :)

Surprised that this is the second battle report where the mauler is just used to throw things
Do stones start with fury at deployment?
+Wild1chevy Runes of War Tier 2 allows the stone to start with 1 fury for each Runeshaper solo/unit in the list.
This is a seriously impressive Battle Report! Good Job! *_*
Kudos on the Cure-themed T-shirt!
+Barry McIvor Heh, thank you. It usually takes people a few seconds of looking at it before they start to understand what's going on in the little boxes =)
Man with amazing beard does amazing things!!
When I saw this video come out without Khador. I thought maybe you had swapped factions.
wow literally just got put up. What timing!
That 1 point heal though!
rly good videos, thx 4 ur work !
Where is a Khador??
Good lord, talk about a game of cold dice. I'd have gone for the kill on kruger when the earthborn had a lane. Just had to kill the one guy to get it.

El que lleva los Trolls es su primera partida o iba fumao.
doesnt epic kruegar make druids not have to command check
+Mike Edwards Ha. Yeah, he does have Inspiration Circle... easy rule to forget.
Easy to remember if they fail. =P
lmao live by the inspiration
the turn transitions are cringy but the rest of the video is good.
LOLs! Druid Gone Wilder FTW!
Brilliant decision to do this. Was getting tired of seeing Khador EVERY time, just due to over exposure more than anything.
