To feel better I look & listen to Elvis. I watch every video I'm offered on this cell phone. It's the only way I can enjoy seeing Elvis. He wouldn't want to be 89 now. His voice never let him down & he was loved by so many. I wish I had all of his records, videos & movies. I think I have his first LP. Need him now.

I can only think of MJ as a competitor. There are music icons (Beatles are a group so no singular person) but Elvis and Michael Jackson stand alone at the top (completely different genres/styles of music but "Kings" each). Somehow, Elvis is more "kingly" tho, cause he got the title first.

This production was ahead of its time. Before Elvis did this, no entertainer had done a concert broadcast round the world via satellite. Elvis was so ahead of his time. Nearly 50 years on, this show is still regarded as one of the best in music history. Nothing like it before and nothing like it since. Elvis definitely needed more challenges post 1973. He was nearly 40 here and was still on top. That bastard Colonel worked him way too hard, particularly over the next four or so years. RIP, Elvis. You will never be forgotten and your legacy will live on forever. Your music is immortal. The Undisputed King of Rock and Roll always.

@@p.j.morris633 nice one, P.J. Elvis was lucky to have you in his life. Thanks for having his back and for setting the record straight. You're absolutely right on all counts. Very well said. Elvis also didn't make friends easily as he was bullied at school. As for Parker, you're completely correct. All he wanted was money and his 50% share. As long as Elvis was bringing in the money and Parker got his 50% share, the latter was happy. Elvis was very unwell in his last show and should have been in hospital and drug rehab. How could the Colonel not see that? He couldn't care a less. Parker's unrealistic demands and Nick's over-prescription of drugs to Elvis cost the latter his life at the too young age of 42. Thank you again, P.J. Morris for your words. Elvis will always live on.

You got true friendship from Elvis and he got it from you. That's priceless. Don't you worry, Elvis will live on in everyone's heart as he was such a loveable soul. Thank you for your story. Elvis might have lived just 42 years, but he will live on metaphorically longer than all the nasties in his life and death. Thank you, P.J. for your kindness to Elvis and again for sharing your story.

@@p.j.morris633, it's not stupid that you go to Graceland each day. I would too if I lived in America. Would love to visit it one day. Elvis will always live on in many people's hearts. I saw the biopic not long ago and it made me emotional at times, especially when he said about being 40 soon and he felt that no-one would remember him and he also felt that he hadn't done anything lasting. Of course he had and here we are, coming up on 45 years since his passing and he is still remembered and adored by so many around the world. He was such a great man in a multitude of ways, one of life's genuine souls and did so much good. According to his friend, Charlie Hodge, Elvis supported 50 charities in Memphis alone and did so much good for others, but he didn't blow his trumpet about it. Such a genuine soul he was. Reminds me of George Michael. Despite being English, George was very similar to Elvis in terms of his personality, such as the kindness, sensitivity, touching music and both lost their Mums very young in their lives and in other ways as well. George too was an Elvis Presley fan and you can hear the Elvis influence in George's music. Thanks again, P.J. for your comments and for humanising Elvis. My best to you.

You feel a deep intrinsical spiritual connection to Elvis Presley even if you've never seen him or met him. It's a phenomenon I've never felt with any other artist. Even though the King invented the modern rock star/celebrity archetype; he is real, relatable, and down to earth. He was an incredible, beautiful soul and gave so much of himself to the world and his fans. There will never be anyone like him again.

I'm 60 years old and I know all musical styles. I've been listening to Elvis since I was 10 years old. I come from Switzerland (Lucerne). I appreciate any kind of good music. I also know all the songs by Johnny and June Cash-Carter (Great). However, Elvis remains the greatest musician and entertainer of all time. He implied all the power of his soul in all his songs. One could almost say: he gave away his whole heart to his listeners. So, in that way, this is definitely unique. Denis Herger

Also beat out superbowl in ratings. What an astonishing feat, says alot about how well loved this man was, especially in Britain, Germany, etc poor German Elvis was like a breath of fresh air after the war tragedies by that asshole Hitler, I think the people healed a bit more, when Elvis was there and g,I blues movie. They just loved Wooden heart sung by Elvis. No. 1 on German charts. Finally, that theme song somehow made Elvis more magical.
