    You’d think a video outlining which electronic drum kits are good would include how the electronic drum kits sound.

    A very worthwhile vid. Especially as I record live drums always but apartment living has its disadvantages. But mainly leaving these set up for demos and spontaneous inspiration keeps the juices flowing. Sometimes you just want to put the idea down “live” even when you’re not ready for a live drum session… 👍🏽

    Swap out the first kit with the Alesis Nitro. I love Roland, but the Nitro just offers so much more at the same price point. I'd also swap the Yamaha kit for the Roland TD-17KV. Again, similar price but much more offered. If I had crazy cash, I'd go with that Pearl Mimic Pro, it's an insanely powerful drum module.

    So then with electronic drums I could technically connect them to Logic and use logic’s built in drum library’s, or 3rd party plugins?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  3 роки тому +4

      Hello, Future Sounds! You can indeed use electronic drums to trigger drum software instruments so long as the drum module itself supports MIDI, either via USB or via a 5 pin MIDI jack. In the latter situation (only a five pin MIDI jack), you'll need to have either a MIDI interface or a MIDI input on an audio interface.

    I have a donner ded-200 kit 4 cymbal one I love it it’s great it’s a great quality stand and kit the reason why it’s cheap and still is worth it with this 100% is that it has a really really crappy module has some nice kick sounds but everything else sounds crappy but the toms and snare are great! Quality nice triggering I guess but they are very small that’s the only downside of them but if you were to upgrade the model if you can do that and get expensive electric drum software like what I’m going to do it’s will probably be an amazing kit that just has small toms and snare lol also the kick pad supports a double bass pedal which I’m also getting the official ded video of them demonstrating the kit they have a double pedal on it😈

    I’m at an intermediate level I would say, but live an apartment now a days so it’s been a while. Really don’t know what to get. Want to keep that natural feel and maintain the option to add on and remove parts as necessary

      Roland pads are the best, all round for feel and durability. They can take a beating. As far as modules go that very subjective.

      also depends on the building. Some have concrete floors and walls. Newer building are poorly constructed often only drywall and insulation between apartments.
      Iv'e been in some beautiful building that look great but you can hear people snoring in the other apartment.

    I'd like to start my Son off properly (punk/Hardcore/metal), is the Roland TD50 the better "functional" one out there?

      let your son play what he wants, there no proper way to start. Try the command pro, don't sound like your son needs all the crazy features that the 7000 TD50 has. Lol I'll say, there's nothing more amusing to me seeing kids get completely spoiled with something they're not even deciding for themselves. You don't need the best out of the gate

    I'm 100% that with this video they're just trying to get rid of the worst drumsets they got

    so this is a video on drum sets on any budget but he is not saying what each drum set actually costs, or at least a price range??? yes, i can look them all up individually but then what's the point of the video?

    You'd think a video claiming to help people choose an electronic kit on ANY budget, that it would actually cover ANY budget but it doesn't. Can't afford a 700-800 dollar kit on 700 dollars a fortnight.
