Same boat, except I did end up getting an Alesis DM10 set that I ended up outfitting with mesh heads. I never in a million years thought I would like it as much as I did. I had to it sell it a few years back, and now want another setup. Warning, these things are addictive! Even more so than guitar, and I've been playing and loving guitar for years.
@@RADERFPV I ended up finding an alesis mesh set for a good deal on Offerup and I'm pretty addicted myself now too. Kinda sucks because I just put super distortion in my epiphone les Paul custom and I'm really really addicted to that as well
What do you play?
I play the cats, cockerels and cows.
:) LOL

It would've been awesome if you also told us some downsides to each of them, however, this is a great video. I'll save it for when I am looking to buy a kit.
hes selling a product, why would he tell you the downsides...
@@timbren2809 Because that's what you're supposed to do in a review? You're not supposed to just straight-up shill for companies.
@@CorndogCrusader He is selling the products, promoting his store. It makes zero sense to say "the downside of this is etcetc" instead he would say something like "but this kit is smaller" or "this kit isn't mesh". It doesn't make sense m8 😂 as a salesman you don't tell the customer reasons why should buy the product
In all my seriousness I don’t think you should buy anything from this list

The links are in the bio, just click and check. The first one ( TOURTECH TT-12S Electronic Drum Kit ) is only $199. The rest are in the $300 range.
They don't post prices because they can change rapidly. That's why they only post links to the products. I researched each one. Not sure if I should go for the Amazon one or one of these. I really want mesh heads and not shitty rubber :/

thank youuu.. Yamaha DTX-432K are the only one available in my area so I but this and what a great time to play/train drum during quarantine...
The Yamaha DD-75 demo sure is something to behold.
Terrific review, Jof! Thanks for posting and priceless advice!
9:48 Sly little Eastenders break. I'm onto you, sunshine!
Great review... got a much better idea of options and what would really like for my home studio.
Thankyou for this excellent budget e drum kit review. Very informative.
I have the Yamaha dd-65. I replaced the button like bass drum and hi-hat pedals with the kp-65 and hh-65 pedals. Its made to fit on a snare drum stand. Its alot of fun and can use drum software.
Is it good enough for a church setting? Nothing fancy,
I have a 75 and the hi hat is just so messed up
I've never wanted to learn drums more than after watching this.
That last tourtech with the mesh seems like a winner for me, at about 550 dollars US Plus delivery from UK I’d have to give it a hard think.
I really love that Yamaha kit. Thanks, this was very helpful.
Space wise and simpleness, I like the Roland. It's only 1m wide so great to have in a corner out the way. You can also get a mesh head for the snare if necessary.
Thank you for enlightening me in choosing among the seemingly endless list of electronic drums to buy. lol...I appreciate it!
Very useful and informative, thanks mate! 😊
This list saved me from a very expensive mistake thank you so much. Definitely going for the Tourtech
Are you liking the TT? Will it trigger superior drummer 3
Made an expensive mistake ...😒 Almost killed my passion.. feel right twonk overwhelming ... & Embarrassed..Roland TD-07.. Karatemario glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed haha
Reminds me of trying Bron-Y-Aur Stomp with a bass drum, a hi-hat, and a banjo in a music shop once. Lots of fun. One of these kits would be more than enough, with a banjo for about the same price. Fair winds and following seas to all.
About to get one when this stimmy hits !!!
Pretty sure that beat at the very beginning is First Date - Blink 182. It was one of my go to show off beats 😂
Super', drums, and technical skills....easy , smooth sounds. Like .love .more playing times....nice.good videos
I have the DTX 402k, and i absolutely love it. The muting on the crash is awesome. It also works great when using it as a midi kit. All the different modes are super easy to learn as well. My only downside is that the muting the crash doesn't change the midi signal, atleast it doesn't in logic pro
From the video the drum set seems to not sound good is just because it’s from the video or the sound quality under average
Can we play double bass without lag ?
@@ajelidalejid290 I wouldn't say it's sounds would be good for recording a song, but for practice and casual play, it's more than adequate.
@@anishkc374 Good question, there's only one mode, the metal mode, that allows for double bass. So far I haven't really seen any lag from the kit.
@@VibeTribeSlowed thankyou for the response brother well i was looking for good allrounder kit which plays good double bass and decent sound i found in my region the alesis nitro mesh kit is just 566$ … do you have any recommendations?
Very helpful! Would I be able to use a double bass pedal on the tourtech one?
I like the way he says its a good set for beginners and he plays them like a pro whos been doing it for many years lol
I am surprised nobody noticed the intro drum sound bite of Blink-182's song, "First Date". NOICE DUUUUDE!!!
I have a Yamaha DD -75 Electric Drums and I bought it since back in April or May 2016 it does the work on me.
I couldn't afford those other electronic drums but this the only electric drums that I can afford. And I still have my old model Yamaha DD-65 but I use that for my studio recording. What I like about the DD -75 is that it's easy for me to transport it but right now but now I just have plenty more space in my room or do some small gig and jam session.
Have the dd-65. Its a blast to play. And sounds better than alot of the kits on my Roland sets. Have the hh65 and kd65 hihat and bass drum pedals.
Is it good enough for a church setting? Nothing fancy,
12:25 Dude is trying so hard not to laugh while having a "what am I doing with my life" kinda look on his face lol
i have a lot of Simmons pads. I want a module with great sounds and 1/4 " jacks at a decent price? What would you recommend?
I bought the TD1. But I upgraded the module to the TD 11. The problem with the TD1.Besides you can’t really edit the drums. The bleed through for triggering is annoying. Even if you adjust the sensitivity. The pads are great and the symbols rock pretty good the pedals work really good. Just upgrade the module. The T 11 takes the same cable. So you don’t have to change that except for the extra crash doesn’t work.
My favourite one was the Yamaha DTX-432K becouse of the control un intensity
I mean
I wanna to have two sounds of snare but I want it to be becouse of how hard I hit, not where
This would make a great road kit to jump in on a local gig. Betcha it folds up nicely to fit in the back seat or trunk.
TOURTECH TT-22M Electronic Drum Kit with Mesh Heads is amazing

the last one is really cool actually :o

I think to me the complexity of the examples lets you know what kits are better than the others
The Alesis mesh line is unbelievable for what you get for the price. I have the command Mesh with superior drummer 3!
Fr. I think the Nitro mesh should have made this list
Have you had any reliability issues? That's my main concern with Alesis e-kits.
All I can afford for now is "Real Drum" app 😪
You loser
Same I also have to use real drum
@@themetalhead1463 uncalled for
That shit is funny though.
No kidding this is the first time i see a drumkit reviewer nail the latino style, Amazing!
Thanks for the video!! Quick question, when I save a new sound (for example an edit to my snare drum). If I unplug the drum set, will I lose the new sound I saved? Does the Alesis Nitro Dm7x have an internal battery that maintains newly saved info when it's unplugged? Or will it go back to the factory default? Thanks much!
I like the Day at the Farm sounds on the fourth kit... FUN
Really god demo thanks
I don't know if skill level is a big factor, but regarding those below that say don't buy the Alesis Nitro Mesh Electronic Drum Kit, my 12 year old grandson had issues about 6 months after buying it. Granted, his forte is guitar, yet w/o drum lessons he does have skills. However, I did buy the two year warranty, just in case, so I'm good. Will get the real thing when he gets a little older and takes lessons.
I recently purchased an MPC live to unit and I wonder if I could select the drum kits and use a midi drum set as a controller that would be pretty cool
Really good reviews
I'm future recordings can you include a brief recording with no electronic sounds? I'm very interested in hearing the actual noise we get from the pads and how quiet they might be. Want to use these at home and there may be kids doing school work while these are in use, or worse, me trying to do work while these are being used.
Was... was that “First Date” by Blink-182 at the beginning?
yup
Jeff Stump I noticed that too but they switched out the ride cymbal with a hi hat cymbal
Yepp, called it haha
haha yes!
blink 182 sucks like all that dumb kid crap
I LOVE the Alesis Mesh kit!! replaced the kick pedals with Axis or Pro V-1 double pedal set!
You talking about alesis nitro mesh kit? If so how much the pro v1 double pedal cost?
@@anishkc374 the pedals were purchased separately thru sweetWater. I believe almost $700 or that might have been what I calculated due to using a sweetWater monthly payment plan.
Btw...Alesis nitro is a Lighter less costly version
@@777fiddlekrazy thts a expensive double pedal man!
Do any of these come with capability of adding a second kick pedal??
Hello I bought this kit what numbers did I need too get rock and the bell chimes that on the demo video many thanks carl
I don't know why some people get offended when asked to turn down but with E-drums you just turn their knob.
I play a Yahama Dtx 582k with Addictive drums 2 and Cubase Groove Agent 5 vst's. If I only had 500 quids though, I'd get the Yamaha dtx 402k and I'd pair it with a free plugin'. There's a few out there.
How do you connect the kit to Addictive Drums? Will it expand the drum kit presets?
@@MrBenzcdi Hi Graca, sorry I just saw your questions. I connect the yamaha module to a midi audio interface (Steinberg) to my Laptop (Dell i5). A mac is a better option if possible.
You can also plug in your usb midi cable directly into your computer and use something like ASIO4ALL (a free software) for an acceptable latency. It's a viable option for many setups once you find the right settings.
The drum software expands your sounds yes, but mostly it sounds and plays miles better. Addictive Drums 2, EZ drummer, Superior Drummer 3, etc.
Some have a standalone version, while others require a DAW to run. You'll need a tutorial or two. I suggest you check out the 65 Drums channel. Good luck, have fun!
@@Simon-iy7mt many thanks for your elaborate reply Simon. Good to know I don’t need to fork out a few grand for a TD30 or similar. 👍😊
Muchas Gracias 👊🏾
Alesis Nitro Mesh kit would be also worth mentioning, and for the price of £500 one could even get a used Crimson II kit which will outperform all of the kits from the review.
No it would because they don't *stock* ALESIS..this "guide" is just an advert 🙄🤷♂️
Does the nitro mesh kit have good responsive double pedal with good latency?
@@anishkc374 No idea, I don't play double pedal, but judging by my Crimson II, Nitro will also start clipping the overlapping samples at a certain speed. Mine starts machinegunning even while doing fast flams on the snare. Probably, the cheaper module will also behave like that no matter what inpit gets triggered.
@@idleprepress well thts no good then … thankyou for the response maybe the yamaha dtx 402 will do good
Is the yamaha dtx400k comparable to the dtx402k that is reviewed in this video? I can get a great deal on the dtx400k but I only want to do it if it is as positively reviewed as the dtx402k.
I'm thinking of getting a the tourtech because it looks so good
It's a fantastic kit bud, go for it.

Hahaha. I was waiting after reading this and it didn't disappoint! 😂
Hi, you seem very well informed so I need your advice. I've been dreaming of playing the drums since forever but never thought it could be possible in an apartment. Now, at 37 after finding about E drums, I play them every day and my dream came true but... I have the Alesis Command Mesh kit since January. The problem that I have is that during a song from the module or the usb, or just solo playing the drums, from 5-10 strokes, on the Ride, simultaneously with the kick, in one or two times the Ride is mute, it doesn't make the sound. It doesn't happen if I hit only the ride, but only if I play the drums. It's like the module freezes sometimes at the Ride not being able to play it among other elements or together with the kick or something. It's not chaotic, it's almost like the clock, like it has never miss trigger two times consecutively which makes me exclude mechanical and think of soft bug. Things I've done: reset All to factory settings, Reset only the voices, reset only triggers, check the Ride's plug, changed the ride with the crash. The problem is still at the ride. So it's not the cymbal. Version is V 1.0.3 and there isn't another version on Alesis website. I've wrote Alesis a week ago, no answer. Any ideas? Thank you very much!
my name is joe
Hi The Tourtech Tt 22M has the bass drum peddle. Does it make the sound of a real bass drum when you don't have headphones in? I'm just worried about a bass drum noise in the house. The camera did a wobble effect when you pressed the peddle so it made me wonder.
cant find the tour tech so im gunna go with the nitro mesh. any thoughts?
I would add the Alesis Nitro Mesh Electronic Drum kit to that list.
Alesis has a reputation for making cheap stuff that breaks easily. There's a reason they're priced below reputable brands like Roland and Yamaha.
Darren Z especially the fact that the hi hat when it doesn’t make a big sound when you hit soft. (If this even makes sense)
@@FunkyDReggsYEEEE I suspect you know what you mean, but that does seem contradictory to someone like me who has not experienced it.
When I hit a high-hat softly, I do *not* want a big sound.
