Most of my tattoos took me years of contemplation and planning on how exactly I want it to look. It's not a "in the moment" decision. Lots of my tattoos tell a story as well. Being active duty Marines for 5 years, I saw and experienced a lot that most 19-23 year olds don't. For the everyday joe/jane though, getting a tattoo is a slippery slope, and unless it's a design you yourself made and is of paramount importance to you, you are getting territorially breached with ideas and imagery, basically permanently. Afterwards you usually scratch the itch of regret with getting another one
Funny, I’m 26 with no tattoos. I’ve thought about getting one since I was 18. My body is not a canvas; I learned this from Rivelino on Twitter, also known as 'The green line guy.' Any kind of snake tattoo, butterfly behind the ear, or sleeve usually signifies some form of unhealed trauma from childhood. Tattoos can reveal a lot about someone.
That’s why we get them. It’s an outlet. Some people do cocaine or fentanyl. I don’t judge. People need to chill and let other people live. Point dexters. If it doesn’t hurt you, has no impact on your ability to go about your day, what does it matter?

Then id be happy and stop for a while, then get some more…repeat. They do tell a story, yea, but it’s ultimately art, meant to appease the eye; perhaps not everyone’s eye, and that’s fine. Still getting them to this day. I’m a professional with a family and a career. I have several hobbies, but tattoos are something cultural and personal. Lastly, yeah, I’d say I could attribute some of them to working through some pain from some events in my life. We all do it differently. Peace.

So true. All about this grinding culture is self hatred and cope to distract yourself from your trauma. Let us be kind and warm to ourselves and eachother, confront and heal our wounds.
This is a refreshing perspective. So many people are trying to run from and change who they are out of a hatred of themselves or trying to stifle their traumas. It’s cool hearing someone offer an opinion to stop overdoing it because we are meant to be at peace and to seek that natural and healthy state of being.
Video doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pursue her further. Use your own mind to decide on that. You/your character decide the fate of a potential relationship either way; not her tats. Elisha himself would probably tell you the same 😂

Thank you for creating this video, bro. It resonates with many of us who need a wake-up call. The key message you highlighted aligns seamlessly with the self-improvement video you previously made. The constant "go hard" mentality often intertwines with self-destruction and negativity. It's worth noting that many men discontinue their workout routines because they confront their inner struggles and discover genuine happiness in other aspects of life.
Lol I have past traumas too, as we all most likely do, but I chose to let it out at the gym or journaling, I almost did get a tattoo though, thank God I didn’t, it took willpower for sure because I almost felt pressure to
I have 2 small tattoos. Just got my 2nd one like a week ago. It was in honor of my dad dying like a month ago. Got a matching one of he had. I’m not one to get tattoos to be flamboyant and use them for fashion or an escape but they have meaning behind them
I'm getting 2 tatoos tomorrow and then this video pops up haha. Been waiting for 9 months to get them and I feel some excitement. Thank you Elisha for sharing your thoughts on that topic! You make some very interesting points, I enjoyed the video.
Eh, I don’t know man. I half agree with you, but some tattoos have a deep, special meaning for people. I got artwork my brother made, who passed away when I was 14 , inked on my body for the 10th anniversary of his passing. I’m so proud to wear his art on my forearms for the rest of my life and I’ve made peace with my trauma
You're brave for coming out publicly with that theory. lol. But I won't knock it because I believe you made some interesting points. I got Snakebite piercings at age 19 and that was how I externalized my trauma/pain.
I don’t think it’s necessary to put it like that. Your not damaged goods for the challenges you go through. But I do think it can be indicative of trauma which is sad.
True man, truma is a main issue of today’s generation, when I addressed it it changed my whole life, I didn’t even know that, to men who needs to find their trauma read the book -no more Mr nice guy(Robert glover) it’s worth the book , you’re the only self improvement bro who addresses the main issues thank you for that❤️
Just had my 2nd date with a girl and we hit it off. We got along really well and I was initially excited to see what might come of this. We agreed on most things and shared similar Christian values. However, eventually that night I saw she had a big tattoo on her arm and her purse smelled of weed. A few days later I had to let her know that I’m not interested in moving forward. I feel really bad because she was really nice and super into me, but I just know I couldn’t get passed either of those things. I felt like it was better to end it now and spare her the pain of us breaking up after going out for several months. Am I an asshole for this? Is this shallow? I feel really bad, I don’t wanna hurt anybody. She took it well but I know she thought we were gonna be something.
You know what you want and there's nothing wrong with that. You did the right thing to do it early than later like you said and cause more pain. You have your standards and you stuck by them, that's a good sign man.
I think the coolest part about tattoos is that they are entirely subjective. People either like them or hate them and my advice to anyone who’s considering getting one is just to make sure they are a tattoo kind of person. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always thought tattoos looked awesome and I knew I’d get some when I was older. I just genuinely like the look of them and every time I look at myself with my tattoos I think “Yah that’s exactly how I want my character to look”. I’d just avoid getting them in visible places so that you can maintain a professional appearance in the work place. It’s also cool to be able to have multiple looks. I can look professional and classy or I can full send it and look like I’ve been to prison. Big fan.
@@Duckonthepond Absolutely, I do think some tattoos can be done tastefully. But, another issue I see is if they begin to fade over time, skin gets loose, etc. and they lose their original beauty.
I am probably 75% covered at this point. I do not regret a single tattoo. At the end of the day, even if one did regret his/her tattoo, as long as its not on the face, its not really a big deal. Humans have become too obsessed with their appearance. Just go live your life! theres no time to regret anything.
I got a sleeve, I realized that I got it in response to my trauma. I’ve been in therapy for a year now and seeing a lot of improvement, holding my self accountable. It’s a grind, a great obstacle to overcome but I’m optimistic about it and I don’t regret my tattoos but I do understand that sentiment
Facts, finally someone calls this out. So unattractive when a woman has even a single small tattoo. Vandalizing their bodies. It’s pretty normal for a guy to have tattoos, but let’s be honest, a woman’s looks are crucial to attracting a guy. Why would they vandalize what’s most important to them in terms of their attraction.
My sister got three after she broke up with her boyfriend in the fall of 2021. She decided to renovate a loser instead of a car, and got two kids with him. She suffers from anxiety, depression, poor like an onion and she's stuck in a village she hates because she can't move further than 100km away from him unless he approve of it, which he won't because he enjoy seeing her suffering and I can't do jack shit about it. I lost my sister in 2014. She have never been the same since. I tried to warn her, but she didn't listen.
I think tattoos look hideous on a woman. Maybe a very small one taste fully placed can be kinda cute and sexy but, for the most part is a form of self desecration. It also doesn't make sense that dudes who train hard in the gym regularly and are jacked would want to cover all of that hard earned muscularity and definition with ink ?
BRO! That swisuit thumbnail got me--ka mon mann haha. Totally agree. Between my friends and I, we've long known that tats on women are a red flag. It'd be to good know what the tat actually is, where on the body it is, and what does it mean to her. This combined with other red flag signs are always noteworthy. But you make the call man! Also, Elisha dude you're so big now you look like the next Elden Ring boss
It's never been about self expression it's about their pain and emotional coming to the surface. I have a bunch of them and it's when I had seen my friends die in my twenties.
I got a couple of tattoos and tbh I kinda regretted getting them after awhile. Until my gf liked them, that helped. I think they can be attractive on women too but I'm kind of glad she didn't have any. It's easy to go too far with tattoos. Can't go wrong with an unmarked body, especially as a woman. I have one on each shoulder, norse runes that say "drengr" and the other shoulder has a celtic triskele.
I only got tattoo at 30 after Ive put my traumas at past. Went to South Korea and just did it, dont regret it since - it represents things I loved the most in life basically, and also a reminder that I can be a warrior and I still have it in me - right now my life got much more comfortable than years before. Also I think of tattoos as something asian, I dont know the reason, but thats why I wanted it to be done there. For women I agree, its a very big red flag, because it shows unstable behaviour in a woman. And the bigger it is, the more telling it is. There are some girls who put a random dot at they body, to think they are also strong as these women in instagram, but like cmon. You are strong in your own way, no need to copy men, this is all I am saying.
I have a full sleeve and you’re not wrong. There is a demonic spirit of narcissism when it comes to body art. The vanity of man believing he is a “god” because he “creates” changes to his body. TLDR: You hit the nail on the head.
I box 5 days a week and train with a top IFBB Pro 6 days a week to increase my ability to protect my tribe (my family) and to preserve a higher quality of life as I age. Not because I don’t like myself. It’s actually quite the opposite. I love myself enough to give myself the tools needed for me and my tribe to thrive.
First of all i have WORSE stories about men growing up. 2nd of all tattoos were not just made for military men. They have existed for thousands of years all having different significance in each time period/society.
I'm a man with a few tattoos and you're right, tattoos mean some sort of trauma (I'm aware in my case). Second, all the girls I've dated in the last decade or more had or wanted a tattoo and all, I'll repeat, all had mental issues like self loathing, depression, anxiety, bipolar, borderline and so on, all from disfunctional families or had a rough upbringing, no exceptions. Coincidence? Don't think so.
@@comparecards5688 Sorry to hear that but that's how it goes, unstable mothers in child's formative years produce unstable children/later adults. It's the mother that counts, always.
You give us a whole different perspective from everyone on the internet. I've never really heard anyone else talk about this. A lot of that self improvement talk sounds ridiculous. Why would I work 16 hrs a day or workout and train like a pro athlete? I don't really want a Bugatti even though it would be cool to have one. You've helped me realize that I just need the basics in life.
Dude I realized the same thing. My ex literally told me that she wanted to have a tattoo when she would finally work through her trauma. I also think that tattoos are popular these days, because everyone wants to be so special. Look at me, I'm art. Nah you have senseless paintings on your skin with no deeper meaning behind it. especially a lot of people with little Tattoos that arent connected to each other. Also I think a lot of guys get tattooed, because they wanna seem tough, when theyre really not that tough. I have a friend that got a fricking Hooligan Tattoo on his back, without having any connection to the Hooligan Scene. In Europe hools are still kind of popular. If any real Hooligan would see this, he would get fucked up
3:10 If that were the case, then all self-development comes from a place of self-hatred. That's not true. It's perfectly possible to enjoy who you are and accept there's a version of you that you believe would be better to be, and go to attain that.
I worked with a guy who was covered head to toe. He would come up to me and be like "Dude, I got a new tattoo!" It was like adding a blade of grass to a field. "Yeah man, dropped $300 on it." He was always broke. Most depressed guy I've ever met.

Great video man. Honestly the tattoo thing is inevitable now, almost every girl has somebody ink printed somewhere. Disheartening I could probably count the chicks without tatts that I pressed and they were all Muslim LOL
Felt the realness on this one. Fuckin hate tattoos. Growing up all my friends had to get at least one. I couldn't have cared less. Just the thought of permanently drawing a symbol in thick ink on my body disgusts me. To each their own I guess. Good video my man.
Unironically even as a grown-ass dude whos into art n shit where I could deff justify going for a couple tasteful tats I'd truly like myself, I'm hard debating on it. This whole trend has pmuch ruined the attraction for me to a point where idk if I'll do it. Agree that on most young white women under 30 it genuinely feels less common to find some1 without a single tat which is legit crazy but depends where ur hanging around in. While it's insanely common in women irl when u go on tinder sometimes u get like 20 chicks in a row all tatted up lmao no explanation needed A wild throw for the whole underlying reason is that Western societies are so degenerate it's almost inevitable women get trauma from all the wild shit they get to experience starting from 1st year of high school etc. Also, not every single girl with tats is damaged and has trauma, but it sure is way over 90%

Most of my tattoos took me years of contemplation and planning on how exactly I want it to look. It's not a "in the moment" decision.
Lots of my tattoos tell a story as well. Being active duty Marines for 5 years, I saw and experienced a lot that most 19-23 year olds don't. And I do think lot's of people in the Military have them as well, it's a cultural thing that's been around for years.
It does upset me when I see some 19 year old kid who's blasted with ink who, I know in ten years will regret the shit out of them.
Just my perspective.
Love your channel dog!
man idc, you gotta keep up posting whatever you got on your mind like you have been these days, the way you speak makes everything so damn clear, and you charisma is infectious
ive got a handful of friends that are tattoo artists, where it's justified to be all tattooed up, since its their personality and portfolio and form of expression.
But every time I think I want to I end up thinking ‘do I really need one? what will it do for my character?’
Friends and even my girl at times promote the idea of me getting some but I can never come to a good reason for getting it.
Yea no point to it. Here in Florida it seems like everyone you meet has them, so you stand out a lot when they find out one doesn't have any hahha
It’s interesting how the rebellious things in the past such as tattoos are now considered normal now.
There were times I wanted to get a tattoo, but I’m so grateful I didn’t now since I know I would’ve regret it so much. Every single time I have a tattoo idea, a few years later it just seems stupid and something I wouldn’t like anymore
Every girl that I spoke to that had tattoos had some underlying issues. Especially my ex lol. Not going for a girl with tattoos ever again that's for sure
Was it usually multiple tattoos or just one? Also was it the common sleeve tattoo/thigh tattoo/middle of chest tattoo lol
We Koreans say “Once you get a tattoo, you always have to prove yourself that you are not a scumbag.”

I know a girl that got a tattoo behind her frickin ear… I was super surprised she’d be so dumb to get a head tattoo
Because its so cute
those tattoos are like the “tribal” of the 2000s, maybe even more popular and common, almost every chick has one of the sorts.
@@Eujedjnejejno
My body is not a canvas; I learned this from Rivelino on Twitter, also known as 'The green line guy.' Any kind of snake tattoo, butterfly behind the ear, or sleeve usually signifies some form of unhealed trauma from childhood. Tattoos can reveal a lot about someone.
That’s why we get them. It’s an outlet. Some people do cocaine or fentanyl. I don’t judge. People need to chill and let other people live. Point dexters. If it doesn’t hurt you, has no impact on your ability to go about your day, what does it matter?
@@steveg2277 I get your point. Just of out curiosity, why tattoos? Why not have an outlet elsewhere? Because it’s an easier thing to peruse? I’m genuinely curious
@@knownaskai Personally, I happen to like the way they look on me. Motivates me to stay in shape too (in an admittedly vain sort of way). But, the pain is also something I was kind of fascinated with for a time. I’d get them in waves. Almost like I wanted to keep testing my limits.
Peace.
@@steveg2277
It seems like you’ve been through a lot my friend. I understand the feeling of enjoying the “pain” but that is definitely a stepping stone to a very cruel and dark path.
I appreciate your honesty, and as I don’t judge you as a person for having tattoos, I believe your story further demonstrates the core idea of the video.
Stay healthy and live well fellow internet stranger
That's the point.
So true. All about this grinding culture is self hatred and cope to distract yourself from your trauma. Let us be kind and warm to ourselves and eachother, confront and heal our wounds.
Tattoos are a huge turn-off. When I was a kid, only three types had them; military, bikers, and strippers. So when I see a woman with them, well....
No tattoos is the new tattoo
Yeah it’s completely flipped
If she's over 25 there's a 98% chance she has a tattoo.
The cattle brand themselves. You're 100% right Elisha.
This is a refreshing perspective. So many people are trying to run from and change who they are out of a hatred of themselves or trying to stifle their traumas. It’s cool hearing someone offer an opinion to stop overdoing it because we are meant to be at peace and to seek that natural and healthy state of being.
Today I was talking with a girl and she was telling me about her tattoos and now this video comes out. Divine intervention.
Video doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pursue her further. Use your own mind to decide on that. You/your character decide the fate of a potential relationship either way; not her tats.
Elisha himself would probably tell you the same 😂

True!
The simple explanation is that it's now the cool thing to do, and women follow trends.
That's right women are followers
Elisha spittin facts holy cannoli!!
It's kind of similar to smoking cigarettes. It's a form of self-harm, which essentially is self-hatred. Great vid Elisha
That's not what is going on with cigs. Simply a nicotine addiction. Most smokers want to quit.
If she's willing to go through pain just to have something in her skin she's masculine, and a woman that's masculine always carries trauma
I’m not one to get tattoos to be flamboyant and use them for fashion or an escape but they have meaning behind them
@@brettm7345 good for you man
I'm getting 2 tatoos tomorrow and then this video pops up haha. Been waiting for 9 months to get them and I feel some excitement.
Thank you Elisha for sharing your thoughts on that topic! You make some very interesting points, I enjoyed the video.
You are the smartest guy I have listened to in a very long time .
At least they've done us the favour of visually identifying themselves as damaged goods.
I don’t think it’s necessary to put it like that. Your not damaged goods for the challenges you go through. But I do think it can be indicative of trauma which is sad.
True man, truma is a main issue of today’s generation, when I addressed it it changed my whole life, I didn’t even know that, to men who needs to find their trauma read the book -no more Mr nice guy(Robert glover) it’s worth the book , you’re the only self improvement bro who addresses the main issues thank you for that❤️
i love you for speaking on this. completely understand and i’m glad im not the only one who was thinking abt this
U only just noticed? Lol when I go outside it's hard for me to find a woman without tattoos who isn't over the age of 50
I really appreciate your videos man. They come from the heart. You’ve got a good perspective on life.
Lmao thanks for the morning laugh when you couldn't pronounce flaggellation
You're a good dude bro
I think, it's a reason, guys don't want to date regular anymore😞
No forniDating 🤨
Big fan.
Covered in tattoos, took until my 30s to realise what you’re saying. Very True
No hate brother. I like some tattoos. Just some things I wanted to talk about
Tattoos are like a warning sign of the mental state of that person. Helps identify troubled people
Your right 50% the other 50, Are artists. There is such a thing as people that really like art.
yeah but why stamp it on your body for eternity? Why not throw the art on a t-shirt and wear it around, or post it on your wall or social media page?

@@Duckonthepond Yes, to each their own I suppose.
Totally agree!!! Tattoos are so overrated. Glad I never got one
Why does everything a woman does have to revolve around attracting a man

My sister got three after she broke up with her boyfriend in the fall of 2021. She decided to renovate a loser instead of a car, and got two kids with him. She suffers from anxiety, depression, poor like an onion and she's stuck in a village she hates because she can't move further than 100km away from him unless he approve of it, which he won't because he enjoy seeing her suffering and I can't do jack shit about it.
