I'm a female gamer. My Dad loved RPGs and FFVII. I lost him on 9/27/22, and this Christmas my brother got me a little music box with Aerith's theme and when I heard the music for some reason it just made me think about my Dad so much, I was moved to tears. Life is something else.

My uncle played the og ff7 when it first came out. He showed me when I was younger. He was excited for the remake and looked forward to it. He sadly passed before he could play it, so I played it in his honor. When Aerith offered the flower to cloud and the music kicked it, I just broke

The day that Rebirth came with the post (preordered), my son cried because he knew how much my brother would have loved playing it. (because of the age difference between me and my little brother, he was also more a big brother to my son than an uncle). I used Aerith's Theme and 4 other FF music pieces during his funeral service. I tend to come back here because it became a connection to my deceased brother (only sibling).
I cry every time I hear this theme. When I was A kid, Aerith represented the youthful hope and joy I was denied growing up in an abusive and drug filled home. She was always so positive. So full of joy. Her death devastated me. I just paused the game and wept. Killed the boss in a rage, then saved the game and didn’t touch it for a month.
I was 9, and in a very similar situation. At that time, I had never heard of Lord of the Rings, D&D, or any of the type. This was my first experience into a world I could lose myself; it was magnificent. It showed me real music, real creativity, and something I could barely wrap my head around. It was my first real 3D game, and it was (at that time) a never-ending experience. When she died.. I just cried relentlessly. It literally shaped my childhood, and these beautiful notes have carried in my head for decades. I still cant listen to this without being a big ass baby.
I used to be one of those people who was like tifa's better but like after watching a full playthrough and all the cut scenes I stopped comparing the two because they are both beautiful souls in and out

I was watching Advent Children when it came out and the part where Cloud sees Zack and Aerith in the church and she forgives him, I actually felt closure. After all these years, I was surprised how I really needed to hear that. Man, what a game and Universe!
Aerith never blames Cloud on her own fate, she decided to enjoy the time before facing the inevitable. Only Cloud couldn’t forgives himself watching her died.
"I never blamed you, not even once. You came for me, that's all that matters" The whole theme of Advent Children is Cloud trying to forgive himself and he realises that when he talks to Vincent in the Forgotten City. The ending is just Aerith leaving knowing Cloud has forgiven himself finally :')
You know, when you're angry because of something stupid someone said on the internet or you keep being hounded by the same tedious arguments... it's just always nice to go back and listen to music such as this to calm you down and remember the good times you have with it, the game and the character. Aerith really was the best part of Remake in so many ways. I can't wait to see more of her story, even if it might just end the same way.

Not sure if anyone will see this but I just wanted to put it somewhere. Last night I did it! I finally for the first time got to her death in og ff7. I’ve loved this character for years and have started and stoped ff7 so many times. But I felt like with how much I’ve loved the cast ff7 for a long time with just looking up stuff about this game and AC and everything else surrounding it, I owed it to myself to finally push through and beat the og game. And finally getting to see her seen in full by myself and getting up to that point by myself meant a lot to me. Her theme playing the entire time throughout the boss fight and the finale moments when Cloud lets her go and gives her back to planet…it killed me lol. So It’s a milestone and I’m happy I got there but as it probably was for many of you…it’s a bittersweet one. Thank you to anyone who reads this and shares a love for this game as well, I just wanted to put my thoughts on my experience with the game so far somewhere.

How TF was I meant to deal with this as a 10 year old? I’m 35 now and I cry harder now than I ever did. I think that’s part of it for those of us who played it when it was released, there was no internet, there were no spoilers, none of us had any idea what was going to happen. For most of us it was the first time anyone in a VG had died, especially a main character. Just about every lad wished they had a GF like Aeris (as we knew her then).
That moment from AC popping up actually unintenionally jumpscared me when i was listening to this while doing college work. I love it. My dog jumped when i did too
Wow, so I just out of nowhere bawled my eyes out listening to this. I was a teenager the first time I played this. Aeris' death wrecked me and I felt so dumb because it was just a game. Now as a 40 something, it hits even harder because this music represents for me the same thing Aeris represented. Youthful hope and happiness. Time goes so fast and it is so sad. I miss those people that were here when I first heard this and now are gone. I miss youthful hope and happiness.
The remake gives a large place to Aerith, and god knows if she deserves it. But young players that haven't play the original game won't know what it feels to have 15 and play this game, discovering its story for the 1st time.... Even 25 years later, at the 1st 3 notes of her theme, tears are not far... 🌷
Those three notes of the D major chord are indeed chillingly good. But what really hits it home for me are the next three notes of the A minor chord. We would expect an A major chord but nope, C natural instead of C sharp. And that tells us, oh, there's more to it than this. And this D - Am goes through the entire piece and that's beautiful song writing.
My 1st love was a digital character in a video game that I had hoped existed in real life but I was so sadly mistaken as I should've been. Even now years later I still love the archetypal Woman Aerith depicted.
I played ff7 for my first time in 6th gradein foster care.I'm 32 years old now,and honestly it's never felt more magical with the voice actors and the emotions /work they invested ,personal feelings and experiences from real people were givin to these fictional characters, ultimately bringing them to life.
Final Fantasy advents children is really good as well. Aerith is magical. She brings me more emotion than any other character when she shows herself..Ive played every ff..
Never played the remake... But I played the original. This song still makes me cry. She was my healer. She was so full of love and joy and Sephiroth killed her in prayer. In a world filled with hate this song gives me love, peace and joy. Final Fantasy VII will forever have a place in my heart.

How I understand you... Aerith character is just a piece of art. (Most of the characters of FF7 are in fact...) she's an angel. She cures broken hearts even if she's the reason our heart finally turns to ashes of sorrow and bitterness.
I found Aerith on one of the times that I was at my lowest. I hope I can tell her how she gave me some peace❤🌸. And it's also thanks to her that I appreciated games in a way that I never thought I would ever do. Now I'm a non-gamer fan who loves to watch gameplays!^^

I remember playing the game in 1998 a year after release and I loved it. I'm currently playing episode 1 of the remake ( for free thanks to PS+) and I'm surprised how good it is. The only problem is I'm hooked on the soundtrack all over again, especially this song. Tifa's still my babe though

How TF was I meant to deal with this as a 10 year old? I’m 35 now and I cry harder now than I ever did.
I think that’s part of it for those of us who played it when it was released, there was no internet, there were no spoilers, none of us had any idea what was going to happen. For most of us it was the first time anyone in a VG had died, especially a main character. Just about every lad wished they had a GF like Aeris (as we knew her then).
That moment from AC popping up actually unintenionally jumpscared me when i was listening to this while doing college work. I love it. My dog jumped when i did too
Wow, so I just out of nowhere bawled my eyes out listening to this. I was a teenager the first time I played this. Aeris' death wrecked me and I felt so dumb because it was just a game. Now as a 40 something, it hits even harder because this music represents for me the same thing Aeris represented. Youthful hope and happiness. Time goes so fast and it is so sad. I miss those people that were here when I first heard this and now are gone. I miss youthful hope and happiness.

The remake gives a large place to Aerith, and god knows if she deserves it. But young players that haven't play the original game won't know what it feels to have 15 and play this game, discovering its story for the 1st time.... Even 25 years later, at the 1st 3 notes of her theme, tears are not far... 🌷

Those three notes of the D major chord are indeed chillingly good. But what really hits it home for me are the next three notes of the A minor chord. We would expect an A major chord but nope, C natural instead of C sharp. And that tells us, oh, there's more to it than this. And this D - Am goes through the entire piece and that's beautiful song writing.

My 1st love was a digital character in a video game that I had hoped existed in real life but I was so sadly mistaken as I should've been. Even now years later I still love the archetypal Woman Aerith depicted.
I played ff7 for my first time in 6th gradein foster care.I'm 32 years old now,and honestly it's never felt more magical with the voice actors and the emotions /work they invested ,personal feelings and experiences from real people were givin to these fictional characters, ultimately bringing them to life.
Final Fantasy advents children is really good as well. Aerith is magical. She brings me more emotion than any other character when she shows herself..Ive played every ff..

Never played the remake... But I played the original. This song still makes me cry. She was my healer. She was so full of love and joy and Sephiroth killed her in prayer. In a world filled with hate this song gives me love, peace and joy. Final Fantasy VII will forever have a place in my heart.

Aerith is also my favorite female character in Final Fantasy VII Remake too! I just love her so much! Her carefree personality and kindness towards others is amazing too! It's one of the many things that I love about her character too!💖 She's always so cheerful about everything and she reminds me of myself because my personality is similar to hers too in some ways. Like her cheerfulness and her kindness towards others is just like me too.

Listening to this at the FF 35th anniversary concert while watching scenes of her love story with Cloud flash across the screen was one of the most magical moments of my life. Aerith's theme has been my favorite theme from final fantasy for over a decade. Aerith always.

Theres's nothing pitiful about it my friend. Its quite a beautiful thing that you could feel the emotions of this story. That level of available empathy is very much needed in the world.
Aerith to me as a child symbolized what an angel might be like. Not gonna lie, the first time i played the game i cried deeply.

How I understand you... Aerith character is just a piece of art. (Most of the characters of FF7 are in fact...) she's an angel. She cures broken hearts even if she's the reason our heart finally turns to ashes of sorrow and bitterness.

I found Aerith on one of the times that I was at my lowest. I hope I can tell her how she gave me some peace❤🌸. And it's also thanks to her that I appreciated games in a way that I never thought I would ever do. Now I'm a non-gamer fan who loves to watch gameplays!^^

I remember playing the game in 1998 a year after release and I loved it. I'm currently playing episode 1 of the remake ( for free thanks to PS+) and I'm surprised how good it is. The only problem is I'm hooked on the soundtrack all over again, especially this song. Tifa's still my babe though

@@scarmackd1498 honestly ive never played with the o.g so i didnt understand tf was going on so i looked up the lore and im like... well its understandable why the o.g ff7 fans were kinda mad they are redoing the entire games plot but are trying to keep it the same...it is called a remake, for me its fine like ive never played the o.g but after finding out the two games are different its making me wanna play the original and then try and find the differences between the two games... even tho it probably wont matter too much cause usually the changed they made arent mentioned again later down the line.
In December 2023, my brother passed away aged 37, after a 34 month battle against brain cancer. Outside of work, gaming was his passion and FF has always been at the top of his list.
I used 5 music pieces from different FF games during his funeral service.
This long version I used at the start while people came in.
It's been 8 months now since the funeral and I find myself coming back here regularly.
Everytime I totally cry my eyes out, but he was my only sibling and these FF music pieces somehow became a connection to him.
