Finally someone who reviews old sets in a professional way. Great description of what we get in the set, the camera work is outstanding, the intros are very nice as well. For me personally one of the best lego reviewers on UA-cam right now if not top 3. I appreciate you showing us these sets from the past which bring back memories of my childhood! Keep up the good work! Much love from Austria! 👍🏻
I'm desperately hoping for an Adventurers Orient Expedition Retrospective from you! Your videos are so great and done with such passion. Thank you for them!
Check out R.R. Slugger’s channel - they have done a video on Dino Island and are currently in the middle of an Orient Expedition retrospective - their videos are fantastic, definitely living up to the quality of TrikBrix
You should really have as many as many subs as JangBricks. Watching these are bringing back so much nostalgia and love for the adventurers sets. Thank you so much for reviewing all of these!
I don’t have that set, but I actually purchased the sticker sheet on BrickLink. Such a cool little Easter egg that makes me hope Lego will revisit this theme someday, since they obviously haven’t forgot about it. And that’s how I knew Johnny went after the Re-Gou Ruby in 1922! 😊
I don't really care for Senor Palomar but i've got a soft spot for Rudo(or Max as he was called in the UK) I think he's the coolest and nastiest looking out of the Adventurers villains. He kinda looks like a anti Johnny Thunder. Even more is in the US Lego magazine it says Rudo rarely smiles cuz of the scar on his face and he doesn't like people talking about it to the fact that he literally says in the mag '' One word about my scar and I will feed you to the crocodiles!'' So this kinda hints that Rudo has had some trauma in the past and it's affected him. I like it when Lego gives the villains some depth instead of just making them evil for the sake of being evil. Although Rudo has just got rather subtle depth in comparison to some other Lego villains(Cedric the Bull for instance)
For some reason Palomar always reminded me of Boss Hogg from Dukes of Hazzard, lol... I agree; Rudo/Max is definitely my favorite of the two. Much more villainous looking. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 😎👍
I am very happy you took the time to document all this sets! twenty years from now they might be scarce and very rare, but luckily we can all enjoy them now in video. Receiving this set as a child was life changing!
Rudo Villano literally means "Rude Villain" or "Tough Villain" in spanish. Yep! I'm Mexican, I know what I talk about. By the way! I love these sets! It's a shame that I birth after these were long made. This video is awesome!
Jammie, I am consistently awed by your production values! Sadly, all of these were produced during my dark ages, so I never owned them when they were new. I really appreciate your in-depth retrospectives!
Thanks, Christian! Glad you’re enjoying them! To be honest, I can’t remember if I actually owned any of the Jungle Adventurers sets; I know my brother had a ton of them, but by that time all of our Lego were mixed up together, and I was just going into my teenage years at the time, so I was worrying about other things, lol... Thanks again for watching! 😎👍
Excellent video! That palm tree seems very un-Lego-like. I almost forgot they even existed! I have a few of the older style that I think was peak Lego palm tree. Losing the base piece of those can be frustrating, though!
Showing the best set from this subtheme, what a way to start! This one has it all. The boat and crew is so charming, and if they're tired of collecting Achu's Sun disks, you can take them to the jungle sets from 2017. They have a similar jungle river vibe. That's exactly why I bought them. Thanks for this excellent review, once again!
Glad you liked it! And I agree with your point about the 2017 Jungle sets - I picked up a few when they went on clearance, and the architecture fits right in. Really makes me hope for a revival of the Adventurers theme someday... imagine what they could do with all the cool elements and building techniques they have today. It would be awesome! Thanks again for watching! 😎👍
Great professional video. Btw the sextant makes another appearance in the jungle river expedition set 5976, I owned these as a kid when they came out and loved them!
Yes, it’s definitely on my to-do list! I touched on it a bit in the Pharaoh’s Forbidden Ruins episode (I think), but it’s definitely something I want to go into greater detail about. Thanks for watching! 😎👍
TB, wow, so cool that you have this set! awesome! LegoLove it! and thanks for sharing such a valuable set! and so fun to see that you have the box art and story, too! the 1920's is reflected in that river boat! cool! there are some great details in this set, too! so fun to see! LegoLove it! Vickie 😃🌈💙💚
Wait... _how many_ sets from the Jungle subtheme of Adventurers did I grow up with? I could swear I had this, I still have the baseplate and large one piece rowboat from the Amazon Temple, and I know I had at minimum two Achu figures!
I remember buying this from Cite Europe's Toys r us in Calais years ago, sometime after it was discontinued, so happy cos the jungle/Amazon sub-theme was over so quickly.
I had problems with getting that sun-disk piece for my collection. I bought the Blimp in "complete" state and instead of the sun disk the seller gave me the middle section of the gold coins (the one you're supposed to throw away after clipping the off). So instead of the magic treasure I got a piece of garbage. Wonderful! However I got myself this set for christmas and now I finally have this piece and all the figures (the seller of the blimp also not gave me Rudo Villano). The set is amazing and I can only recomment it to everyone. Also nice review, I like the music. And I don't think I need to say why your reviews are awesome. I fangirled enough about the channel, but know that if I could only sub to one channel on youtube, it would be yours. Cheers mate for the excellent review and reviving my childhood and all the memories.
Wow, that sucks that they gave you the coin sprue as a replacement! 😂 What were they thinking?! Lol... Thanks so much for the kind words... I feel blessed to be able to do these videos, and to have such awesome subscribers, like you. Thanks again! 😎👍
@@TrikBrix They probably thought I wouldn't notice, but when you sell to collectors, well you better get your part list right. I also hate the "We sell it as on the picture". That mostly means, for legos, that it isn't complete and you have to look what is missing on a badly taken picture. For example the River Expedition I got for christmas included a different map (the one from the pirates theme) and just a standart smiley face for Achu. But I got those pieces, so it was acceptable, even tho it was kinda a rude move to hide a face under the mask, which is a wrong piece... I really appreciate that you can be as in touch with the community you have hear, answering and interacting with everyone. Thanks :)
Yeah, buying used Lego certainly has its pitfalls... even “100% complete” has to be taken with a grain of salt. 😄 And I’m happy to be able to do so! Even as the channel grows, I’m going to try my best to interact with everyone here. I think that’s an important part that too often gets lost when channels get big.
This is a wonderful set! Most of the adventurers sets are cool I think! I think the boat is cool and I like the vibe it has - it reminds me of of a lot of those adventure movies that came before Indiana Jones. Actually some of the Tarzan movies with Johnny Weismüller seems to me to have had a boat like this in it - but I might remember wrongly! Wouldn't be the first time. And if not that, maybe the original King Kong with the Harryhausen stop motion! Stuff like that - black and white from somewhere between the 1930s and 1950s! I never knew that there was single piece palms like that!? That's odd! Overall I really like these adventurers sets and I think this one is great too! Thanks for sharing this and keep up the woderful work - I love your graphics and music! :-)
I definitely share your sentiments on the 1920s-50s adventure movie feel, especially King Kong. I think maybe even something like that would work well if Lego decided to revisit the theme. Thanks again for watching, man! Your kind words are always appreciated! 😎👍
TrikBrix oh yeah, I’d love for this theme to come back! And making sets inspired by those movies would be interesting - a little more fantasy-esque than the original perhaps?! But very cool all the same :-)
I like me some boats as well. And this set delivers. A steam powered vessel makes of course an excellent fit to the time and setting of our beloved adventurers. But I mind a bit that the chimney isn't connected to anything. The t-rex transport makes it a bit better with an actual stove located on the main deck. But nonetheless it's a neat design and it makes me wonder why there have only been two boat in the entire subtheme. When it comes to the Amazon I would place my bet on a boat rather than a car.
Yeah, I almost mentioned the fact that the steam engine (I think it’s supposed to be the brick build the smoke stack is attached to) isn’t connected to the lower deck. I guess the designers figured their target audience wasn’t super knowledgeable about steam boats and wouldn’t notice. 😄 And by my count there are actually three: this one, the small steam boat in 5986, and the River Raft (although I wouldn’t argue if you didn’t consider that one a ‘boat’, lol). But I agree, there should’ve been more. In fact, there should’ve been more Jungle sets in general; it’s by far the smallest subtheme of Adventurers. 😕
I absolutely love your channel but was wondering if you would ever do the orient expedition theme. I myself have been inspired to collect some of these. I have collected 5986,5988,5938,5958, Temple of Mount Everest (orient expedition) and the small spiders secret set .I would love to see your channel back in action. Good job on your work so far
I always wondered about Achu's hands... are they red for blood? aztec sacrifice rituals? taking into account the silver knife is all around this subt-heme..
Haha, that’s a good question! Never thought about why his hands were red... and it doesn’t seem like Achu has any tribe left, and there ARE an awful lot of skeletons scattered around... Creepy! 😄

I can second that - such a slick and amusing presentation on every episode! do you write the text in advance or come up with it off the cuff?

Fantastic coverage and reviews! This set had so many cool elements to it. Loved the creative traps the Adventurers theme had.

the ruins build is AWESOME it has that Easter island vibe

What music did you use for the wild west retrospective? Because i love it, thatnks for returing Jamie😊
Thank you! It’s my own composition! 😊👍
12:08 I think they've drawn on both Aztec and Incan influences for this design
I can't tell what gray colors I like more, the old one or the bluish one we have today🤔
i just recently acquired two jungle adventurers sets! they are not bad! even if the desert line is my favourite
I think I saw this set in the LEGO Racers video game... Specifically the statue head thing.
unlike lego not to make a mistake with the navigation lights , red to port green to starboard , they must have had a sailor on the design team
this is awsome!!!!!!
9:38 The Egypt maps were based on real maps of Egypt, I wonder if this map is also based on a real world location
Shapewise, the slim bit at the top of the map looks a lot like Panama. So that would place the red X in... Northwest Brazil?
How did you get these sets?

Hope to find a deal on this one time
yet another year and you now can plan on 150… For some reason the whole Jungle wave is by far the most expensive of the whole Adventurer theme.
Do you plan on reviewing the Indiana Jones sets?
Yes, for sure! Not sure when, but they’re definitely on my list! 😎👍

I think this is the first time I've seen you fully disappointed by a palm tree.
Dude I had this set when I was like 8-9 that was when I was introduced to Indiana Jones. To me this was Indiana jones in LEGO
Would you be willing to share those music files?
I have a lot of these

I will ne honest with You. the palm tree is a MAJOR step back.
Is LEGO MANIAC® still a registered trademark?
Make more videos bro
