I just hit the bonus with Citi Premier ( 80,000 ) also the Custom Cash card for ( 20,000 ) . Yesterday I spent 10 bucks on my brand new AA Barclays aviatior card for 60,000 . American has a hub at my local airport ( Philly ) so I think I am off to a pretty good start . My points earner is gonna be my Citi card 1-2 punch . Custom Cash is my gas only card 5x and the Premire gonna get me 3x most other categories.
@@LukesPointsandMiles , how do you feel about buying miles . I saw that sometimes American is running promotions and on the surface seems like a good deal but I don’t know .
Thank you so much for the feedback. I’ll be flying QAtar for the first time in a couple of weeks. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m also on team Delta!!
Just got the CitiBank Platinum Card. Now the are giving 75k miles after your qualifying spending. I thought that was a good deal. Just a couple months ago they were offering only 60k miles. I don’t fly that much but I certainly will use that 75k over the next year. Not bad for $99 after a year. Will be good traveling with family also for checked bags.
Nice video! I decided to do a 4.5 work trip this year to get status with an airline (American is what my company usually books), rental (National) and hotel points and status! I’m not Diamond with Hilton until 2024, I’m gold with American (almost platinum) and Executive Elite with National! Also gained 37,000 points from flying this year for work on American! I have the American Airlines Red Aviator Barclay MasterCard and gained the basically free 60,000 points for any purchase. I’m going to use my 60000 for the CC for roundtrip Morocco trip next year and the 37,000 for ny roundtrip trip to Aruba next year!! I’ve gotten lucky with gold status and on about 85% of my flights received first class upgrades!!
Wow. That’s great with the upgrades!!!! It’s Funny you mention Morocco! I want to take my wife there so bad. Way too many awesome Instagram pics! You sound like you definitely know what you’re doing !!
Great video bro! I have the Citi AA Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard. I'm trying to plan a trip to Santorini Greece within a couple years, trying to build up my AA miles. If nothing else I've got enough MR points and will have enough Chase UR points by then.
@@LukesPointsandMiles Well I think I could fly AA or Iberia but just in the preliminary research stages right now. Btw I'd be flying out of Florida. If I needed to, i could reposition if necessary.
@@kmb6916 I think AA’s business and first class on their wide bodies is super underrated. I flew lax to Mia In first on a 777 and I didn’t want o leave!!
@@LukesPointsandMiles Yeah I was thinking about getting another AA credit card to boost my miles, like a Barclays card. But, I'll be at 4/24 next month and want 2 to 3 more Chase cards.
@@LukesPointsandMiles yeh but then your subject to award availability. Avios never has anything when I look. I would get the Citi card but 2x isn't worth it for me to put spend on the card and would be a slow earner
Hey Luke, what are your thoughts on all these airlines canceling flights? Could you please make a video on how to get a refund for domestic flights? Thanks
These are crazy times. Our Cancun vacation was canceled and it looks like it just keeps getting worse. I’m not planning any flights until September unless something changes.
I bought tickets for a trip need to cancel with a mile's award that doesn't depart until next month. According to AA website says I can cancel they put the miles back in my account for up to 1 year. Does that mean those miles will expire in a year if I don't use them?
I’m hoping they bring back the 1:1 exchange with Citi . Also I have a question , “ if I transfer Citi points do they count toward status or they only redeemable miles “ At the moment I am sitting on 115k miles .
They won’t be counted as loyalty points. Even the extra points for bonus category spend doesn’t count for loyalty. I thought that partnership ended in November.
@@LukesPointsandMiles , yes the partnership ended . But Citi and American Airlines definitely have business relationships and I am confident they will do something similar hopefully this coming year .

The aviator can actually have the fee waived in the first year with a certain link

Thank you. Great info.
didn't know about the hotel booking AA site! I hate I can't transfer amex points or capital one to AA. :(
AA points are tougher to earn and they’re super valuable. You can however, transfer to British airways Avios and book AA flights through them

Please, explain how do I redeem miles, using the App?
Go to “book a flight”. When entering the information for the flight there is a box that says “redeem miles”.
Click the box and the price of the flight will be in miles.

You’d need to call them to clarify. That’s not a question I can answer. I know AA miles do have an expiration and it’s really easy to reset the clock
