@@saraadams9518 I’m downplaying drunk driving? Absolutely not. Nobody should drive drunk. Ever. But when every single witness who saw Karen at the Waterfall Bar, which is the last place that she was seen before dropping Officer John O’Keefe off at the Albert‘s house says that she was in no way even “drunk or buzzed“ I have a hard time with the theory that she was drunk driving. According to Julie and Chris Albert’s witness statement “nothing about their behavior indicated that either one was drunk, or even buzzed“. According to Jen McCabe‘s witness statement, taken 5 1/2 hours after John‘s body was discovered “John and Karen did not appear to be overly intoxicated when they arrived“ at the Waterfall bar. Karen is diagnosed with both MS and Crohn’s which makes it unlikely that she is or was a heavy drinker. So again, I don’t see any evidence that she was drunk driving. Do you?

Melanie, you say this is 'small potatoes' and I agree...however as regular people are being fiscally squeezed out of the middle class, these people are getting ahead and staying,, at least in the middle class. It's not a one off, it's a way of life for them. How many honest working people with family to feed can afford to buy a new driveway, a new snow blower etc., without feeling the pinch? Not many. It doesnt matter how much evidence anyone has when a judge is compromised. This judge aleady poceeded when asked not to, didnt allow pertinent evidence and then allowed evidence that was not pertinent. Allso, after watching juries for decades, judges know whos for or against DA v/s defense, then 3 who were not guilty get ousted. The next time defense needs to demand to see every # in that tumbler, and each alternative # drawn. Judges relationship w/ McAlberts needs investigated. Why would McAlberts threaten to bury Turtleboy under "Auntie Bevs" beach house? They are the ones who gave her that name. Why are there texts saying they want to rent " Beverley & Frank" 's beach house? Yet, judge refused to recuse herself because Beverley was spelled wrong? Hos many Bev & Franks are a couple right near their beach house. This was ludicrous that judge did not recuse herself even for appearance of impropriety. (Not to mention her brother defending Chris Albert!) If she is presiding judge in next trial, she can move direction (& help ADA by practicing from the bench) in this case to DAs favor once again IMO!
Federal court will handle this one.

My Husband is from Massachusetts and I love it up there. The Karen Reed case has really made me side eye the Massachusetts Government. Honestly, I think this is going to bring more charges all around. They need to drop the Karen Reed charges NOW!
My daughter was murdered in 1 Square mile jurisdiction. Major's wife was on scene before 911. Incumbent chief in waiting and major are buddies. 1 part time patrol officer only police presents on scene. Police Dept. did not report concerns of foulplay reported less than 48 hours to ME. My breastfeeding daughter, with no history of drug use, did not EAT heroin. Husbands girlfriend was moved in 2 weeks after funeral. The chief and Mayor will retire. No retirement for me. 2 selfish men, shame on them. I look them in the eye every chance I get!!

Wow, I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine dealing with all of that on top of the grief you must feel. Try contacting True Crime UA-cams if you can, to draw attention to your daughter's case. A few that I listen to are Annie Elise (her channel is called "10 to Life" and her podcast is called "Serialously"), Christina Randall and Eleanor Neale (she is from the UK but she also covers US cases.) Good luck and I hope you get answers soon!

Hello Melanie, Replay here. This is the 2nd time the MSP was indicted. When there was a Promotion of a woman to the highest office, she investigated Troopers billing for Overtime when they never did the Details. They were Fired, tried and some made to pay the money, others I want to say lost their retirements. There is corruption everywhere.

MSP hands are tied after the overtime scandal and every other trooper scandal to come out in the past 6+ years, these guys are toast, it's now out there so no brooming this away. Careers ended with dishonorable discharges and possibly loss of pensions. Sucks for the good ones on the job.

I've been thinking about the involvement of the FBI in the KR case. I remember hearing very early on in the trial that OJO was working in the child protection unit at the time of his death and, after finding out about the previous Birchmore case, it keeps niggling at me. Then I heard the press conference of a police chief? who said that OJO was working with other cops in Canton on a drugs case when he died. Is it usual for a cop from child protection to be investigating drugs?

In the 90's i was a volunteer firefighter in Massachusetts. A few members used the heavy rescue to obtain their CDL lic. At that time, the MSP were serious as a heart attack when handing out CDLs. Even though the rescue truck was used for the practical test. No freebees. No shortcuts.
They tried to push CDL’s down here for the volly FD’s and thru realized that it would never fly

I also worked in appointed positions for three towns in Western MA. There definitely are favors being given, people in others' pockets, bribes, nepotism, and who knows what.
Ludlowwas the worst when I was there. But, things changed some since Elle became the town Administrator!
I'm not at all surprised that ANY of these things are happening. Especially that they are happening in MA!
These drivers could have been transporting illicit goods and unfortunately people. It could be that with assistance of LE they were allowed to drive through without being pulled over.
So many possibilities. None are good. Explains why Homeland Security is involved.

Mass drivers in general are extremely aggressive. We have a “name for them” in CT.
We have the same for them in MA.
BOSTON - Gary Cederquist, the Massachusetts State Police Sergeant at the center of an alleged Commercial Driver's License application bribery scheme, retired Thursday with a dishonorable discharge.
Cederquist, 58, of Stoughton, was one of six people charged Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney's Office with giving several drivers the licenses in exchange for gifts or services. Four of the six charged were current or retired State Troopers.

Something similar happened at the Brockton,MA RMV where a few folks were fired for giving out regular drivers licenses to those that never took the test. They made 1500 people take their drivers test again. There were many kids that were caught up in it that were innocent and did take the test.
A second group arrested from Taunton RMV for same recently..
I'm thinking yesterday's arrests has more to do with this investigation than the Karen Read... someone gave up these CDL guys to help themselves...

I believe 2 of the 4 troopers were retired and employed by RMV. Another was a sergeant with MSP. And I’m not sure the status of the 4th. It’s wild 🔥
I think what's most wild is we are even hearing of this. But not for Read case we wouldn't. This obviously going on a long time. Look how brazen they became. Bad day to be MSP retired or not this shames them all, sorry.

Just FYI. To drive an 18 wheeler carrying chemicals that driver has to get a HAZMAT added to the CDL which also requires a physical.
All CDL licenses are updated yearly but after you receive the first license the updates aren’t as rigorous.
My husband had both for many years just in case he would need to drive some type of vehicle. He has driven all types of trucks on occasions and it’s SO DANGEROUS to give them to people who can’t pass the tests.
My husband has warned me to definitely watch out for the new “sand trucks “ that started in the area in 2018. They don’t require the HAZMAT part.
I’m betting there’s more than 2 dozen because of the number that have been stopped and arrested in West Texas oilfields.

If anyone truly wants to improve and revamp the integrity and leadership of law enforcement, then we need to lobby for instituting "strict scrutiny" standards on qualified immunity of LEO's acts and actions. Currently, the standards on qualified immunity are way to broad and breed a lack of leadership and embolden bad actors within the LEO profession...

Mel, the Brockton RMV was investigated for "selling" learners permits and licenses to people who could not legally pass a road test. The woman's Name is Mia Cox 41 yrs old. She had a deal with a driving school to pass bad drivers for BOTH CDL and licenses. I can't attach the article but google will take you there...😊
