Easy Metal Riffs to Practice (As Iron Sharpens Iron Song)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- If you need some simple, easy metal riffs so that you can practice your rhythm playing, accuracy, and timing, these are some awesome riffs to play.
🎧 Here's link the to the Apocalyptic Dreams album (this song is track 9 on the album): www.jasonstall...
There are 3 different parts to this song where you'll learn the riffs. And each riff is slightly different.
The first 2 are kind of simple but the 3rd riffs, which is the bridge on the song, is a little more complex.
But all of these riffs are really fun to play and sort of have that old school Metallica meets Judas Priest vibe.
Hope you enjoyed this lesson!
Keep it Metal,
Jason

As a 19 year old who's learning how to play metal in hopes of making a band with his friends one day, youve been a great teacher to me man. Thank you so much for making these vids

This is THE place us ageing metal heads get inspiration to pick up a guitar again and learn to play killer tunes. Thanks Jason
Thank you, brother, more to come 🤘
You got that right....Jason is a great teacher.
Yep 37 and just learning now as recently got a chance to get a guitar and an amp doing what I can
@Good_Luck_8619 it's a great way to block out the world and get a new perspective on the music you listen to, I hear a riff in my head and have to see if I can play it
@@robtighe2712 oh well I try anything taking lessons at the moment and also found these sleep hypnosis subliminal videos here to speed up learning to play ! I have Cort electric guitar G model don’t know the number black body with inner white cover ! Works ok !

I’ve loved Metal my whole life and I’m just starting to learn to play it. The thing I love most about Metal musicians is that, for the most part, they all seem like the nicest people teaching music on UA-cam. The irony ofcourse being people associate Metal and people who play/listen to it as these scary mean people. Couldn’t be more wrong. Thanks for the video! Can’t wait to try this out!
I appreciate that, thank you 🤘
I just wanted to say thank you, and tell you that your videos have been a major inspiration to me. I never once thought I’d be able to learn to play anything remotely resembling actual music in guitar. Through following along with your videos/lessons I have been able to actually learn and enjoy playing the guitar. You are an amazing content creator and a huge inspiration to me, thank you so much for doing what you do and creating this amazing content.
Dude thank you so much for this comment!
agreed !
Well said Hunter! Jason is awesome!
Your profile picture is a potato, which is how Jason gets his size, I find the synchronicity amusing.
Your the only guy on you tube I can understand when you explain guitar! Thank you
Man this guy is so awesome. Thorough and seems like such a nice guy. Would love to rock with this man!!
🙏 🤘
Sign me up. I started playing before I joined the military, where I spent 20 years, and didn't have time to play. After that was behind me, I became tied up in life and wasn't living for myself, however I always had that desire in me to be a metal rhythm guitar player. I'm 53 now, and have seen a lot of people on here, but I understand your way of teaching. Time for a new axe, and time to start living.
Dude, first, thank you for serving! If I have any regrets it’s that I never joined and wish I had served at least a term.
It’s good to hear your living the life you want now and back to playing!!

Excellent tuition, Jason makes it make sense instead of rambling like others. 🤘
It's so great that you picked it back up!
Just beginning to learn to play the guitar. Really like heavy metal. As an older novice, it takes me awhile to pick things up. However, my speed and understanding is improving. Jason is a great guitarist and very able teacher.

I like what the Diaz brothers say about fighting. If you wanna be a hitter you gotta train with hitters. Iron sharpens iron makes me think of Conan which makes me think of my Thulza Duum project and I have some RIFFS similar to this. I can't wait to improve some more so I can finally be happy with it. Great video bro. SKAL.

i like the expression in your face, thats truly metal. kind of what i'm playing for warming up, except i love replacing some palm-muting-single-note-riffs with their octaves

Awesome Jason. I've been watching a lot of your videos and learned a lot from them. They inspired quite a few riffs that I came up with, especially the video where you were showing different techniques that could help people who are stuck at writing riffs. Stay safe and rock on.
Dude that’s great to hear!! More are coming!
Hell yeah, awesome tutorial Jason, loved it man!! \m/
Thanks dude!
Finally started putting projects together that I have been working on for years. I got Guitar Pro 8 and have been writing out guitar and bass parts. The project I am working on has been 20 years in the making. In the last year after getting a grasp on Modes, I finished the pencil to paper part. I've created the sound effects and recorded those tracks. I have one of my guitars in standard and the other is a baritone RG that is in standard B. Just need a drumming program which EZ Drummer seems the way to go.
That's awesome progress. As far as drums, if this is something you're looking to release, I recommend hiring a real drummer. I had Cameron Fleury on my last album (Masterpeace, under my name) and the new one that's up and coming. It's well worth having a real drummer.
I really dig that song I heard so many styles like Iron Maiden Judas Priest just to name a few that’s kind of the style I’m going for I can’t wait to get back and practice. Thank you for videos Jason I learn a lot and can’t wait to start putting it to my guitar. I’m also excited to start working with metal master once I’m out of the hospital thank you again 🤘
You've inspired me brother. After years of not playing I've recently gotten back into metal and bought myself a new shecter. Youre videos are keeping it fun and simple. Thanks alot. Subscribed.

Awesome!
Dude, my videos must be popping up in your feed!! That's cool!
I've been searching through all your content. I've not watched a single video that I didn't get something useful from and made a few playlists for future reference.
I'm glad UA-cam somehow led me to find your stuff man.
I've had a renewed interest and was getting tired of practicing scales, modes and although it was super beneficial, all that music theory studying. It was killing my first love of just playing guitar and having fun. Good news is with the renewed motivation from your content, I have a fresh approach to apply the theory and have fun.
I took a lot of time over the last year learning about mixing and producing and helping an original hippie who's been playing over 50 years and is now 72 to start recording his stuff so he can preserve his music and pass it to his family.
He's always been a live player and sometimes it's harder with them in the studio.
When I started, I had no idea how much work recording and mixing would be.
I'll do this for this guy, because he's helped me with guitar from a vantage point of someone who learned to play by ear and picked up chords etc... Without any formal training.
He even played with Billy Greer, the bassist for Kansas before he hit it big. Billy was from near where we live.
Even though I like metal and harder rock, he's got some bad company, Hendrix, even Skynard in his bag, but he's really into blues and I've learned a lot about the roots of rock n roll from him and can relate to it through some of my own life experiences and it's not a bad style either. It helps to broaden your horizons.
I wish I'd have started much younger, but there's no way my parents would've went for it, but that's another story.
Anyway, keep up the great work and know even though everyone may not elaborate like I have, your work is not in vain. It's super useful and that course is really great.
I've enjoyed listening to your albums and they sound great.
I have a super busy schedule right now, but I'm really enjoying the time I do have to put into the course.
After this engineering project at work is over, I can really dive into it headfirst.
I am the lead engineer for a nationwide ISP and I'm writing software that will help us convert 7 digit dialing to 10 digit dialing in preparation for the upcoming 988 national suicide hotline that will be just like 911, so I'm working a lot extra to roll that out.
I'm definitely looking forward to Clearwater this year and hope that I get to meet the man, the myth, the legend in his own mind, 😆 when I get down that way.
Rock on and keep it metal brother.
@@Black-Sheep-Society-xx Yeah, we all go through phases where we may not be able to play as much, like when work gets busy.
