Hi Steve & Ivana, the next time when you eat crab, do ask the staff for a plier or small hammer to crack/ knock the shell. This is how we eat crab in Msia. Our teeth are so precious, so don't bite with your teeth. Cheers 💞
Still can't believe we bump into each other, same day, same train, same time! The island looked so cool - it's definitely worth going to (if you don't get stopped at the jetty lol). We're glad we managed to see it on video at least and you ate the crab Steve haha

I am born and raised in Klang and was super excited when I saw your video of you both visiting Pulau Ketam. It's a fishing village with deep historical roots from way back. Popular for its seafood and friendly islanders. Most of the chinese villagers/islanders there are from the Hai-Lam descendant clan but sadly the younger generations have all but mostly moved out to Klang and/or nearby cities for education or job opportunities. Pulau Ketam is still a gem for Klang. 👍🏼
Right! Ivana noticed there weren't younger people around, other than kids who were still being raised. It's a bit of a shame, because Pulau Ketam is such an interesting and cultural place. Although, it's hard to criticize someone for choosing to live in a place where they can earn more money, support their family, etc. Overall, we really enjoyed our time in Pulau Ketam. Definitely recommend visiting!

I dont think VegiesOnTour will come to Crab Island as they are still searching for Banana Island which is too far south near Singapore's border & not accesible by metro.
Pulau Ketam reminds me of the outlying fishing villages of Hong Kong, quiet relaxed enclaves that are in contrast to the hustle & bustle of the noisy, crowded metro cities, and yes, the aesthetics are spoiled by the stink and sight of garbage in the water and on land. Wish this weren't so.
speaking of day trips, you could try taking the bus down to Malacca City for a day. It's a UNESCO world heritage city. Also, have you tried Bak Kut Teh? I have a feeling Yvonne will like it
