Trilobite Hunting Along The River

- A beautiful warm day, and the trilobites were calling me. I've been on a quest to figure out just how many species inhabit the area I hunt in. So far, I've identified seven full species, and there are a few others that may or may not be trilobites. Additionally, I've encountered crinoids, cephalopods, and the possibility of horseshoe crabs.

Nice finds Jeff !!!!!
Thank you so much
Love your videos, man. Glad to see you got out again. Awesome finds! Thanks for the video.
Thank you that place is my home away from home. I could probably fill my channel with nothing but hunts from there but people would probably get bored 😆
Congratulations on the amazing finds. Someday I will get down there
It's such a cool spot and way more fossils than just trilobites, they just happen to be so plentiful there and easy to find.
Every time we see you hunting trilobites we think of how cool it would be for you to own and run that one location. People would love going there with guide Jeff to get you excited and learning. Anyone reading this should consider becoming a channel member here. Keep following the dream and using anything but the metric system (which makes better sense than anything, but we cant seem to learn it 😅)
That would be the dream of dreams for me... dumb ol powerball lottery not letting me win 😢😂
I love trilobites! And I like to watch you hunt them! That little one was adorable! So cute! And the bigger ones are cute as well! No getting jealous now! Those guys are awesome! And so are brachiopods! And ammonites, baculites, and any and all that I currently have none of! Lol! Loved the video! And I would rather you call me Lisa instead of the "largent45" it's not my name thanks! It just kind of bothers me, especially as it's a married name, to a man that I haven't seen since like 2005! Lol.
Will do I just referred to you by your screen name for privacy reasons ... but I will change that for you now that I know it's cool
There’s something about seeing the detail in a well preserved small specimen. Every bit as awesome as a large one, in my opinion.
Very cool!
Thank you
Awesome finds .
Thank you so much
3:44 I think I know who left that behind... the shame! LOL
Hahaha I do too
I gotta get one of those to display. Wonder if they can be found in Kentucky? If I get the chance to come over that way for haunted ridge that is something else I will want to go find. Calcite, fluorite, geodes, union road agates, and now trilobites. I’m gonna have to make multiple trips. Lol
Let me know will do a whole crazy collaboration trip
@@huntingrocks that would definitely be awesome. Likewise if you make it over my way in Kentucky.
Hey, Master Jeff, my noble friend. I’ve been feeling Hunting Rocks deficient recently. Everything is crazy, but your videos always cheer me up. Thankfully I have another couple to binge and catch up on. 😁 Thanks for all you do, sir.
Is there any way to definitively tell if a fossil was just an empty exoskeleton or a deceased critter? I know they have methods to scan the inside of rocks and see fossilized bone, but would that be something that worked with trilobites? Seems like in a lot of cases the insides would decay away regardless, so molt or animal would both probably end up basically the same. Just rambling my chaotic thoughts out in writing.
I was just aboutbto send you a message and check up on you Brother Valiant. I hope all has been going good or as close to good as possible.
So on the trilobites they have done CT scans of them before and some they have actually seen what their last meal was, I don't recall which species they did that with.
Most of these that I find I believe are total replacement due to their age. The Trilobite has mostly wasted away to be replaced by the minerals but I'm not 100% sure if they would show anything on a deep scan ( I need to see if I can get a science lab to maybeblet me play)
I'm really curious about it and the ones from Utah that are trapped in shale ( they are a little older) might be a better test.... I need to hit up some of my scientist buddy's now and see what can be done cause I want to scan a trilobite as well as a couple of cephalopods I have.
@@huntingrocks That would be really awesome to see the process and results of!
Really appreciate you thinking of me, sir. That means more than I can say. Things have been really rough recently, for me and some of my family. Been trying to keep my ex wife alive, but…well, anyway, this isn’t the place for that. Everything will be ok. I hope you know how valuable it is that you share your adventures on here. I think for a lot of us, this is what we need to escape and feel like we’re out there with you. 😁
