I love looking at new places and seeing what's about. Nice looking rose quartz! I am definitely looking forward to see if you find some fluorite on your next adventure, one of our favourite minerals
It's mine too, it's such a beautiful mineral and comes in so many different colors... but best of all, a lot of it is UV reactive, and I LOVE glowing rocks, LOL
Jumping from Arizona to Colorado. So awesome. Looked like a fun little spot to find some specimens. I bet that quartz would tumble up nice. Looking forward to where you'll take us next. Colorado is pretty epic.
I love Colorado (well really any of the western mountain states) it's so freaking beautiful out there.Im watching your guys video right now actually... I think I am finally caught up ... for now until my next adventure LOL
Thanks for the adventure, Master Jeff. Some awesome scenery there. Reminds me so much of the canyons here in Utah, back before so many of the small creeks dried up. Rose quartz is so beautiful. I think I have some large pieces around here somewhere. I don’t think I’ve seen footage of it being found in situ before. What gives it the rosy color? I’ve always liked mica too. It’s so pretty and reflective. I would think it’s great for use in miniature scenery and such, despite being so fragile. Mostly I’ve seen it as little pieces in potting soil.
Well, my good man, Rose quartz is pink due to fibrous inclusions of a mineral similar to dumortierite. These inclusions distort the crystal lattice, causing it to reflect and transmit red wavelengths of light, which the human eye perceives as pink.... OK, yeah, I copied and pasted that cause I wasn't sure either 🤣. Now, Mica, I do actually know what it's used in, and it's A LOT like a crazy lot , from makeup to break pads and everything in between.
It really was. Colorado can be a hard place to rockhound in the area I was in so much of it is either private property or National Park which of course either require permission or are complete no go's ... but year by year I am adding more spots I and others can go.
Hey I'm first! Yay! That rose quartz was a fabulous! It's so pretty! If you ever run across a clear pice of rose quartz, get it for Karen! Faceted rose quartz would be so pretty! Thank you so much for the mountain climbing and showing us just how beautiful and plentiful it was, if you don't mind chipping it off the boulder! But there was so much of it! So pretty! Thanks Jeff!
I am going to try for sure . Next year, I will bring proper tools, and with luck, it will still be there. A few people out there seem to rockhound, but they do love to fly fish, lol. Did you get your package? I almost forgot to ask
Mica likes it🤣.... Let me find out your a hells angel and you went to Colorado to smoke that Venezuela gang and checked out some minerals while you were there 😮 JJ Hey man I didn't miss the geode cracking live feed did I
Haha No no I don't even own a motorcycle.... or do I 😑🤣. You have not missed it yet I am heading to Geode Fest in Keokuk September 27th. I'm gonna shoot a video and make sure I have enough geodes to make a good video and a great live . And finally release my Ebay store to the public I been working on. My line up for videos is gonna be another Colorado , a river walk at home then the geode videos should start coming out.
Love it when water has already done half the work. Enjoyed the video as always. You take us to some interesting and beautiful places. There's a spot near me called Gold Mine because of all the biotite mica in the rocks - only small pieces but shiny like glitter.
Thank you very much, and I love your name. I am always picking up litter when I am out rockhounding, leave no trace... well, I mean, except for rocks I chipped on LOL. I do love how Micha glitters in the sun it's an underappreciated, pretty mineral
and its fun to say cause people think you said a bard word , but you really didn't .... Apparently the middle school I talked at last year that became their favorite type of rock for about a month my buddy told me LOL
That's a dream of mine to have something like that. The best I have is a trilobite fossil spot about half an hour away... those glaciers played havoc on all the really good stuff around St. Louis . I would love to come up and dig and shoot a video if you would be OK with it.
@@huntingrocks sounds fun. Although winter time means 4ft of snow all over the ground. It's best to do right after snow melt because the vegetation is still pretty dormant .
@alextravine9422 we usually get up to the Estes Park area in summer (June,July ,August) way cooler less humid Temps then down here in the Mississippi valley , plus it let's me visit my Grandma she's 93 this year lives down in Fort Collins

I too have a hunk of Colorado Schist, I agree it is an amazing rock.

Heck that’s some decent stuff for a free spot. Like that tourmaline.
It's pretty cool stuff.None of it is museum quality but I bet a nice tumble and polish it would make an amazing cab
😎😎😎
Haha live the glasses
Are you still in Colorado? Come to my place in mountains and come make video about some rocks
I wish I was , I have family out there so I will for sure hit you up when I head there next year. It's such a beautiful state
@@huntingrocks I live 5miles from some high quality topaz mines. And I have my own quartz pocket in my yard.l that I discovered.
