    Rujuta I always look forward to your fitness videos. I started strength training 8 months back with simple dumbells at home could see a phenomenal change in my walking speed as well as a sense of well being, my ability to undertake any physical activity at home has increased without feeling tired at all. I strength train in the evening and the quality of sleep has improved , I sleep like a baby get up totally fresh. You are a god send angel to guide us in becoming fitter and fitter day by day. Thanks Rujuta . Strength training is very important undertake it and you will reap in the profits , quality of life will improve tremendously.

      ​@@blessed9491 I am no expert . But I started with 1 kg dumbells and graduated to 5 kg. Consistency is a must then only you get the benifits.go9d luck.

    I've been training with weights about 2-3 days a week for over a year now and the following things have happened: 1) I lost 12-13 kgs of fat and increased my muscle mass 2) Periods had gone haywire but became regular after I started strength training 3) I was pre-diabetic and on medication, now I'm in the normal range for sugar levels and off medication! 4) Blood pressure was a little high before, and now it's normal every time I check it! 5) I haven't put on any of the weight I've lost 6) I can run faster, have more energy through the day and can get more work done than before. All thanks to Rujuta Diwekar and her books. But I would like to say that along with strength training you NEED to have a good pre and post workout meal. Invest in a good protein shake from a trusted brand. I promise you it'll be worth the money and completely safe.

    Hello Rujuta mam, I started my Fitness journey around 2015 after reading your book "Dont loose your mind loose your weight" That year till today I am still into fitness I do my strength training 5 times a week. More goals to achieve in coming days.
    But as you said you will meet who strength train more that Thrice a week, I would love to take that chance & would love to meet you & talk to you.

    I suffer from this disease, and I'm trying my best to fight it, but would love to get tips from you . MS is a rare disease in India, and despite being a qualified doctor myself, I couldn't find much helpful diet and exercise related data on this disease...

      There are many videos on YT for this. Generally even in a gym it's important to get the basic "form" and "range of motion" right before picking up the equipment so one may start with low weights. What's important here is the person's basic fitness level and overall weight. For an overweight person, it is not advisable to do just bodyweight exercises or intense bodyweight exercises for example.

    Mam - you mentioned about someone regular and doing strength training more than 3 days a week. In your book don’t loose out work out, you have recommended 3 days a week strength training for advanced category with push pull leg split. Do you recommend 4 days a week training now? What should be the split then? You also recommended to have 48 hours gap in two strength training sessions. That won’t be possible if one does 4 days a week. Please do clarify on these points. Thanks.

      I used to hate gyms too, but Rujuta's second book "Don't lose out, workout" changed my mind completely. I gym 5 times a week now, at home, with basic equipment that I invested in. It has done wonders for my life.

      @@blessed9491 Ofcourse I have. I played 2 sports for my college teams and my coach always pushed me to go to the gym but I hated it. And yes strength training means using weights. One must absolutely go to the gym and learn the exercises and forms correctly. Then you can get the hasic equipment at home and do the workouts at home too. It also depends on what your goal and target is. For an advanced set of goals, I can join the gym for 3-6 months to access the equipment there and then continue with maintenance workout at home again too.

    It's very important to do strength training no doubt but I see young ones n senior doing all together wrong posture . beginner should do it trainer until they get their basics correct. In doing strength training from last 20yrs now . I see n feel lot different from my age group friends. Specially women, they don't count exercise as routine . They consider exercise as an additional activity not as routine.
