What height was it at Justin?✌️🌱🤘
Oh shit! I didn't bust out meter meter. Wow. It was at 25" off the deck as usual. 24" canopy because the sensors are 1". Sorry about that.
@@Justintime2grow 😁..poor ol' meter meter, consigned to oblivion 😭 thanks man ✌️🌱🤘

I bought one today and I’m at a loss for words. It’s awesome!
That is a sweet light! only 26 inches and that coverage wow
Appears to be the same inventronics driver that is on my Spider Farmer SE7000’s. Inventronics is a Tulsa Oklahoma company, about 21 miles from me. I called them to see if it was ok to mount the drivers for the lights above the ceiling in my attic due to the heat they produce & may need to do that in the summer months. AC is not an option, its required in my space.
The drivers here is running cool to the touch . The boards are what’s running super hot. But one you you can do to help cool your drivers is place small usb fans blowing over them . I set mine outside the space but still use a small usb on them. They run cool to the touch this way. I’ve got quite a few lights with the inventronics driver. It’s great brand. My SE7000 has a huge MOSO driver. It don’t even need a fan on it but I run one anyways. By the way your grow set up is awesome. Dig your content.
@@timpage5021 thanks Tim, very much appreciated! I’ve got a laser thermometer & plan to do some heat tests on the SE7000s for the channel soon, maybe today! I’m certain my low ceiling height plays a roll .. well, I’ll save it for the video. See ya soon!
@@nativesugarshack9328 no problem you’re very welcome.
Great review, was looking at one of these for a 4x4. It was top runner, but with those temps.....oof I just can't. Summer would be a nightmare, heat stress everywhere. Although if you live in a colder climate, this light doubles as a heat source for your ladies 😁. Appreciate the time you put into this.
Thanks. Wattage is heat and you need a certain amount of wattage in the space to be effective. This is not a lot of wattage for a 4x4 which means it's also not a lot of heat output for the space.
If you want to grow year round you will always need good AC unless you live in a very cold climate. Considering this light uses the most efficient diodes you can get it creates the least amount of heat per watt as well.
@@Justintime2grow Well, that's a little misleading as there is a correlation between wattage and heat but also many other factors to take into account. So the medicgrow fold 8 and smart 8 are both 760watt fixtures but both run cooler than the HLG blackbird by roughly 30-40 degrees. I don't think that is a fair comparison either because although they may run at a cooler temp, there are 8 bars all running at those temps vs the 6 on this, not to mention that the heat is disbursed across the diodes and that is why the HLG runs so much warmer as it is essentially 6 mini quantum boards. Regardless, it is still way too warm for my liking personally. I do agree that AC is definitely helpful as in any control over your environment is, but it is definitely not requisite. I personally do not run an AC during summer. Although I switch my light schedule to lights on at night as to not have lights on coincide with daytime to further encourage heat gain. Although our summers are a bit more mild (upstate NY) and average daytime temps running between 80-90. Still, I can't help but wonder what those temps might have looked like had they spread those diodes out across the arms instead of having them concentrated on the ends.
What a beautiful light I just think there should be two lights in the middle
That would just make it higher in the middle which is not needed.
@@Justintime2grow True, if you give it away, I want to sign up, lol
That a bad ass light u the man Justin ✌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wonder how this light compares to HLG 600R
Did you use the mars fc4800 for a grow or did you only do the review?
I was thinking of getting one for my 3x3 after watching your video.
I have it and it’s better for a 3x3 I’m getting the blackbird for my 4x4
Let’s goooo!!! Those spinning shots were dope af
Thanks, after over 100 reviews I'm trying to find ways to spice it up lol.
Love the review. Thanks. I do have a 4x4 tent and I've been researching and looking for an LED light. I still use an old sun system light. I thought I had it narrowed down, but after looking at this review I think this might be the light. Not to mention that hat's pretty badass. Thanks for the review say hello to Washington State for me. I used to live in Port Angeles and Sumner Washington. Now I'm in the deserts of New Mexico. Stay lifted
Do you use apps on your phone or have all meters . Im new and need to get started on learning more. Thank you
All meters for me. I have to be accurate as possible since I'm doing videos about it. If I was just a home grower I might just use a phone app that was respected for being accurate. PAR meters aren't cheap that's for sure but they're so nice to have in your grow.
Hlg needs to put some markings on the dimmer
Just wish it was physically bigger to have better uniform coverage.,1000 PAR in the middle (can) have diminishing returns with no co2. You almost have to have 1000 PAR in the center to have the edges be in flower territory. Thing runs pretty damn warm too it was hitting 160 . Those lil boards are being pushed super hard . I’d like to see how well the chips hold up after a year. See how much the LEDs haze degraded.
I couldn’t run my scorpion with the tent closed . Even with after I stepped up to a 8 inch exhaust and intake in bottom port. This looks like it would run maybe even warmer with 6 boards pushing over 160 degrees. Imho it’s a miss.
Stellar review as always.
Physically bigger is the scorpion diablo. I go well over 1000 without CO2. I run a scorpion diablo in my 4x4 with an 8" fan at 60% without issues.
As I explained the heat sink is cut out which is why the temp read so high. Test another board bare like that and it will be high also. Like I said in the video I believe it is to let heat escape faster.
I agree it would be nice to see a company figure it out perfectly though. How to space it so you get 700-800 everywhere.
@@Justintime2grow you got AC or central air? I could run mine in the winter and that was it. Tho it was in a 4x4. If it was in my 5x5 it probably would’ve run a smidge cooler. I might take it back outta the box next winter and run it next to the Photobio MX680. Like you I test a lot of lights. Some I keep some I sell some I lend out. Hopefully one of these days Hydrofarm sends you a MX680. It does got probably one of the best uniform coverage lights that’s not a bar a style. It’s a heavy light tho. I got it hanging 28 inches and my par meter is just a 200$ cheapy Photobio meter it’s reading mid 800s throughout and mid 600s in the far corners. Anyway no hate on HLG this is probably a lil better option the 600 rspec being their a similar price. Stellar review as always.
@@timpage5021 Any grow has to have AC in the summer. That's just a given. My grow room is well insulated though so it really wasn't that bad. I also run my lights at night as use outside air for cooling if the temp is lower outside than inside the grow room so the AC doesn't need to run as much. I have all that setup automated.
What would be better this light or the Spider farmer SE7000 in a 4x4
Hey Justen I’m scorpion Diablo what are those UVB or UVA lights I’ve never seen them and where can I get them the ones I seen at the convention in Chicago were different
I added 2 4' Rapid LED bars to it. Far red, UV and IR.
Can you do more 5x5, I’m in the market for a new light, but after watching most of your vids I’m skeptical on what will really be a good light. Any suggestions?
5x5 is just too big for 1 light. You usually have to spend $1400+ to do a 5x5 with 1 light and even then it's not really as good as if you used multiple fixtures. But then you try to use multiple fixtures and they all are made for even sized tents, 2x2, 2x4, 4x4. No 2 of those covers a 5x5. It's just a bastard size tent IMO. Which is why I got rid of mine. Your best bet to cover it is the scorpion diablo or the Chilled x6. I have discount codes for both. Otherwise it's just a matter of piecing together that will fit.
@@Justintime2grow I appreciate the response. I went with the medic grow fold 8. I watched a UA-cam review on it and it did really good. And the price was very affordable.
@@SamSum1990 hopefully you used discount code j2g to save some money. 😂
@@Justintime2grow what about the 600 rspec that says it’s for 5x5 ? Having a hard time deciding between which of the 2 . Only got 2 , 100s right now … so eithers truly stepping up lol
@@MurdahBassRecords You apparently don't know how to read a PAR meter so you should probably sit your ass down. I've tested the 6500 AND the blackbird AND the diablo AND the x6 AND about 100 other lights. You don't even own a PAR meter dawg don't even lie.
Stick to making shitty wack raps that nobody watches. Leave the grow light info to me. 😂😂😂😂🤡🤡
Hey Justin what do you have on your scorpion Diablo??? I see something up there attached to it
I beleave that is uvb light my question how did he hook them up to the diablo
I added a rapid LED 4' red bar and UV/IR bar. Just strapped them on with rope ratchets.
How does this compare to the Viparspectra KS500?
Both great lights but hard to pass up owning an HLG if you have the means to do so honestly. Top tier lighting.
@@Justintime2grow Thanks for the reply great to know
@@dinero3255 sure. Make sure to use my discount code “justintime2grow” for a bunch of money off.
Hey there, a while back you tested mars fc6500 and I commented about using 2 sp3000s or the fc6500 and you recommend the fc6500; well now I need your input again since you have physically experienced both lights lol. Fc6500 or SF se7000 for a 4x4?
Nice light
Would you say that it could be possible to remote mount the driver?
Possible sure, you’d just have to extend the cable. Most things are quick fittings so you could just get a cable with the same fittings but longer.
Hey Justin can you do the grow light science grow 300? I heard it was a great light and was thinking about purchasing for my 2x4x7 but would love your opinion.
Tell them. I don't contact companies and ask for lights. If a customer says they want to see it here it's a lot more powerful.
@@Justintime2grow Will do
Sent a good lengthy email to them lets see what happens 🤞🤞
Hi is there a chance you could get a HLG diablo 200? not much info available for that model while many are buying it. would love to see what it can do in a 2x2 at different heights.
Cheers bro
How far would you keep this light from seedlings dimmed down to 150 watts?
I would use a much smaller light unless you were doing an entire 4x4 tent full of seedlings.
Why don’t u do grows anymore ? Used to be one of fave s
Because UA-cam hates weed. I never stopped growing I just stopped showing it here. It’s still all over my Instagram.
Yo justin my man have you reviewed the eq1000 by elite lighting as iv just bought one but cant find ppfd charts anywhere which is strange as it has a meanwell driver and Samsung diodes??? Would be so greatful if you can help. That black bird tho is a beast.
I have not, you can always search my channel for the names of the lights. I put it in the title.
@@Justintime2grow ok thanks for the reply.
Did he say it have infra red
What would be good in 5x5
The scorpion Diablo that I show in the video. I also have a video on it by itself.
@@Justintime2grow thank you didn't look at that. Nice light
Sorry I'm sure you've answered this question numerous times but what par meter are you using? Love the multiple sensors and hopefully I won't have to sell my kidney or left nut to buy it 🤣
I use 4 Apogee SQ-616 sensors hooked up to a laptop.
Light is better looking then my van 😂😂
Let's see if the driver's hold up like a mean well
Haven't heard of any issues and they have a good reputation.
Comes with the same warranties and is American made as far as I'm aware of.
What happened to your grow channel?
UA-cam basically. They took the fun out of growing and showing on youtube by kicking people off the platform. I still have plenty of weed content on my IG.
Very nice
can the driver be removed? can you make a video of that?
As you can see it does not come with cables long enough to do that.
@@Justintime2grow lol if I knew i wouldn’t ask.
Oh shooot...game changer...
🔥🔥
888 view with 88 like. Love this channel
Nice light but that runs hot as fuk. My chilled grow craft x6 strips are like 95deg
That light should be a 500$ light not a 899$ light
woW
I pray for black wing!! Now the blackbird is here👨🏾🔬 back to the lab bro👨🏾🔬(tryna create dollars)
👍👍😎
Nice light but the hat is the shit
Nice light!!!
You should do a giveaway for it 😁😁😁 lol
Way to go HLG some more old technology you paint the light black and call it new same old stuff. Bar LED are the way to go less of a hot spot more even coverage no thanks HLG.
What is this talk about old technology? Clearly you have never grown with a scorpion or a blackbird if you think it's inferior tech.
If you've seen my other tests with bar lights if they're 1000 in the middle they're 650-700 on the sides. This is 1000 and 650. What you're complaining about is meaningless and just coming off hateful. I use a scorpion diablo in my personal grow with excellent results.
I'm torn over what I should get you think the spider farmer Se is a better light I'm looking for coverage
@@Justintime2grow are you using the Diablo in a 4X4 or bigger? Shopping for my 4X4 but want the best I can get, money isn't an issue. Thanks!
@@strictlydomestics1 me too?? What did you end up getting??
I bought 3 TSL 2000s (Mars) for less. 900w for less $. Does look cool though.
Not hard to look better than a tsl2000 😂
@@Justintime2grow That is funny because it's true. Quantum boards are the new burples.
@@terphunter1329 nah I think the cree cobs like the new burple I believe the boards are just doing smaller sections to battle heat and better coverage
@@terphunter1329 I have nothing against boards really. I don't like all the old HPS reflector material they used. It just looks cheap. The TSLs also have pretty bad heat management. They're just made to have high output for as cheap as possible with no extras. Great budget light. The SP series are miles ahead though.
Do some reviews on optics leds.
They're overpriced and their marketing sucks.
That's my review. 😂😂
