As a British expat living in America and unable to fly back to see friends and family, i just want to say thankyou for your videos which are massively helping with my homesickness!
I enjoy these too, just discovered this channel. I live in Spain, I'm not homesick but I do feel nostalgic for the UK and it's a real treat to look at boats and canals!
"How did Otis react seeing snow for the first time? This is how he reacted..." - Best shot of 2021 so far.... really made my day, thank you so much for that one!
Colin, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so open about mental health. Listening to you is like hearing you talk about me. I so appreciate what you do.
Wow, those shots in the snow. Beautiful. Lol at Shaun's "shut the f**k up Colin" face. Haha. It's nice to be around someone when they're a laugh and make you laugh but every now and then it can get a little too much. Probably like only 5% of the time. Other 95% it's all good fun :) My Molly dog played in the snow for the first time this year and she was just as giddy
Just ❤️ Friday afternoons. I think the winter would be a lovely time on a narrowboat freezing deep snow outside and cosy in front of a real fire 🔥 life couldn’t be better! Loved the blog 👍
Love the stunning camera work this week. I was totally unprepared for Otis to go all Benny Hill in the snow. Snorted some tea out my nose I was laughing so hard.
The snow looks beautiful but I’m glad I live in coastal Florida. Was 15 and in prep school in north Georgia before I ever saw snow! Liked it then for about an hour. Stay warm and well boys!
I live in a small island in Brazil, we have lots of boats here, but not canal boats. But I love to watch your videos too. Ppl from all around the world also love it. I've learned a lot about british culture and history with you guys. And you are a great couple. Thank you so much!
This one had everything, Otis, information, beautiful scenery, and lots of laughs. Colins delight when the train went by was magical. Puta a smile on my face too.👍🍰☕️🧁
So nice to see Shaun able to participate so long without all the coughing. I'm happy his lungs are healing so well. Must be all the wine and jellybeans. 😉 Seriously, though, one question I have after watching this is, is in-floor heating an option for narrow boats? Everything else you described sounds very livable (well, maybe not being handcuffed to the bed🤔😄), but I cannot abide cold feet!
Great vlog again Colin. Very informative. Glad to see Shaun is not coughing as much and back to his giggly self. Otis made me laugh dashing anout in the snow. Fantastic photography - maybe material for another calendar Colin !!! Love from South Elmsall.
Hi Guys We both love your innuendos and Shaun’s laughter, no wonder your so close. Having only boated while on holiday we had one year when the canal froze solid in February, we carried on sailing because it was not our boat, but we were cutting through ice half an inch thick in places. We did use a lot more fuel though not only to get the boat through the ice, also for the heating. One morning, I rolled over for a cuddle and my bare bum touched the hull, God was that cold. I made sure I had a spare pillow between the bed and the hull, no more cold bum. Keep up the good work, love to you both, stay safe. The David’s.
I love watching snow fall..... from the comfort of my lounge with a large picture window between me and the snow.... with a warm snuggly blanket and a warm drink, either hot chocolate or tea close to hand. I'm getting too old to be out in the cold for long periods. But I won't move away from an area that has all 4 seasons throughout the year. And we had an overnight temperature 2 nights ago of -23 degrees C. The video of Otis seeing for the first time was cute and funny. I got a good giggle watching it.
Ok, You didn't tell me I'd need an "Otisvision Sick Bag" ;). And please be careful not to reveal what is in your secret cupboard. The snowy canal scenery is amazing!!! Love the Peak Forest Canal. Stay warm guys. 8º Fahrenheit here today, with a windchill of -18. So cold. Hopping over to watch the work out viddy. :). ❤️
Really enjoyed this episode today - the bit where you both started laughing at the suggestion that the CRT will come and break the ice was comedy gold! Xxx
Your photography is always stunning but I have to say the monochrome effect of the snowfall on the canal is absolutely magical. Many thanks for sharing
You can't say that! I look forward to your vlogs each week more than anything else. You guys are tremendous! Colin, I have to say, you capture some of the most breathtaking views that I've ever seen! Incredible! I really think Shaun has the right idea though. Naps, wine and chocolate. If you had a tub, I bet you'd never get him out of it! Keep up the great work, guys!
Hi from Australia. I love you guys. I have a mental health issue and I love to see how much Shaun loves and excepts you and laughs with you like my hubby does. Your smile Colin is wonderful.
Colin and Shaun..... I've watched this episode again. I am amazed at how monochromatic the aerial snow images and DSLR images of the countryside are with the overcast skies. Really interesting footage. Beautiful. Love Ottis' romp in the snow for the first time. Cheers....
Wow it looks amazing doesn't it so pretty but flipping cold.. Haha.. I'm glad you keep warm on your boat lads take it easy and be safe, no falling over in that snow and ice. love you both god bless.. Xx
I've always suffered with anxiety and depression which I'm dealing with it by taking one day at a time, finding ur vlogs have made me laugh daily so big thanku x😹
Another great vlog. Glad to see you guys are staying well. Shaun is looking good. Glad he is feeling better. And of course Otis is a cutie. Hugs from Las Vegas. 💗💗
I remember as a 10 year old seeing an Icebreaker on Coventry canal, motor powered but with about 10 men on each side literally rocking the boat, I'm 65 now so I don't think I'll ever see that again
Happy Friday Snow days, I must say yours is much more beautiful than mine. Lots of melting days ,rain then snow again. Thanks for a nice morning, it was sweet to see Otis enjoying himself CHEERS Granny Vicki from Utah
I'm glad to see you dong so well. I've caught up on all the past vlogs . . . now I need to wait for Friday mornings. 4:00pm GMT is 8:AM PST. So I have you with coffee.
Love watching you guys out in the snow. It's so pretty. The Outtakes had me laughing so hard that I had to pause the video. Love the smiles and laughter. I'm surprise that Colin was not singing, "Do you want to build a snow?" from the Frozen movie.
Lovely video and as a full time boater in my third winter I agree with all you say. My boat seems similar to yours (though a bit older, 2003) but I have almost identical facilities and you're right, it is warm inside, the water tank doesn't freeze, the engine always starts, and the fuel boats are brilliant. I tried a winter mooring for my first winter but in my opinion it's a waste of money and anyway, the idea of being a continuous cruiser is to keep cruising!
While I am totally anti-snow, it sure looks pretty . I’m a Harley traveler, so that can explain my anti-snow feelings. I did 35,000 miles last year and this year seems like I’ll do more. I’ve got 3 trips planned for the year and the shortest is 2000 miles to and from the Devil’s Highway in Arizona. That also includes sight seeing while there.
Hey Guys! Especially enjoyed this one as it answered most of MY questions as well! LOVED the B&W shots - really helps to highlight winter time on the canals. Otis running in the snow was adorable - pure JOY! Hope you're all warm by the fire: Shaun with a glass of wine, Colin with your cherry coke & Otis cuddling on the couch! What a great life! Sending you 3 love & hugs!💕🐕xx
Excellent Vlog. A lovely way to tell your winter story......scenery to die for, Otis in for the doggy snow scramble and Shaun adding his laughter to make the whole presentation fun to watch. You three make it a joy to be in your life. Thank you.
I've watched every one of your videos from the launch of silver fox, you make me laugh and cry, I'm shielding And I look forward to every Friday, only just worked out how to make a comment..... Keep on doing what you do xxx
Omg thank you so much for replying, I got my vaccine two weeks ago. I love u both so much, my favourite is don't sink on the ribble link, I only live a few miles from Tarleton, you've made by week end , stay so safe both of you xxx
Hi, Colin and Shaun! Great fun seeing Otis go “crackerdog” in the snow! I’m a great fan of the old “All Creatures Great and Small” - can you tell?! It’s -9 C, but -17 C with the windchill in Ontario right now. Your scenic snow shots are beautiful! So glad you are both healthy and happy. You guys make my day!
Fabulous photography of the snow and snowy landscape! Thank you for the fascinating information about canal cruising in the winter. Always love your videos!
It’s great to see a winter cruising vlog. So many other Narrowboat vloggers moor up for winter, catch up on editing their backlog and don’t start new vlogs until spring. Thanks for answering so many winter cruising questions. I laughed at the ear flapping Otis in the snow cam shots. Cheers from Florida 🌴🌴🌴
Shauns cough seems to be getting better.. He laughed his head off and didnt do his usual cough 'n 'splutter... Really good to see your on the mend and looking a bit more chipper... Great entertainment as per usual... nice one guys....
Caught this video as it came up on my recommendations for some reason and what a bloody brilliant couple you are. Love the humour and delivery. Brilliant! 👍😆
Great vlog boys. Its so good to see Sean laughing in his hilarious way and not coughing. Until the Outtakes that is! Hopefully he is more or less recovered now. Silver Fox always looks immaculate. You must spend a lot of time cleaning it. Take care of yourselves boys. D xx
I think silver fox looks great, partly covered in snow in the winter scenery. Everything seems so calm and relaxed when there's snow fall. Top vlog again guys 👍
Psychiatrist blacklist, numpty manoeuvering--I LOVE it, as I do ALL your vlogs. So good to see your cheery faces, and Otis going mental in the snow. Beautiful vistas. Thanks for cheering us up!!
Between Colin's amusing dialogue and Sean's expressions 🤣 your outdoor video's with Silver Fox in motion really make me happy...love you guys, keep warm and happy, no handcuffs 🤲 😂🤣 xx
Thank you so much for a very informative and entertaining episode as always. Its got to the point where I can1`t wait till friday to brighten my week. Thanks again.
such gorgeous snow photos. Great advice and I have told my husband that he needs to watch this - he has always said we should retire on a narrowboat, but you have describe how much work it is -- afraid we are too old for all that work. Thanks for the videos!
Tv in all its history has never documented the canal system of GB as well or as thoroughly as you guys have documented it, superb work, fellas.
Wow, thank you!
Yes, my husband and I have learned so much, thank you for all the time you take to do this.

Those snow shots... heaven.
Thank you xxx
Watching with my mum (88) she loves it, actually she loves Otis ha ha. Brilliant video, no snow here, we will enjoy yours vicariously. C xx
Enjoy! x
That grin watching the train go by was one of the most honest things I've seen in a long while.
💜😂👍🏻
I always said "oh there's a train". Not anymore! Now it's "traaaiiiinnnn", even if it's only in my head! You have changed me forever. Love it. 😻😻
Love that! Never change! x

"Blowing a hooligan". Thank you very much, I'll adopt it :)

The snow looks beautiful but I’m glad I live in coastal Florida. Was 15 and in prep school in north Georgia before I ever saw snow! Liked it then for about an hour. Stay warm and well boys!
That is awesome!
There's only one thing to say...I LOVE YOU TWO!!! Thank you for keeping us entertained!!!
Totally our pleasure, Darlene 👍🏻💜
I live in a small village in India where there is no canal boat system at all. But i love watching ur videos. Excellent stuff

You can do almost anything in a boat but you have to consider the power. Don’t forget, you’re relying on batteries.
Great vlog again Colin. Very informative. Glad to see Shaun is not coughing as much and back to his giggly self. Otis made me laugh dashing anout in the snow.
Fantastic photography - maybe material for another calendar Colin !!!
Love from South Elmsall.
Thanks 👍 Ah, ages since we were in Elmsall!
You two are so good for my mental health, i so enjoy your banter and your knowledge is second to none xx
Thanks so much! x
Agreed I was feeling so low then these two pop up (well three)and I’m laughing again. Love them all xx

Ohh my, the Otis cam was priceless.

Don’t know why this was recommended but I loved it. Cheers guys 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it!
The unbridled joy from the Otis-cam is exactly what I needed today.

Absolutely beautiful photography. I’m shivering just looking at your surroundings. The silence must be heavenly.
It’s very lovely!
Also shivering--had to pause the video and go put on a sweater!

Yeah, The unstabilised footage would have caused so much dizziness!
@@FoxesAfloat It was fun visually experiencing his first snowfall. And, to be honest, I was laughing too hard to actually need a sick bag. 😍😍😍
