For those who don’t know, the pomegranate one was actually about a young man named Paul Megranite and the lasting consequences that came about after he missed a milkshake date with the love of his life. It’s really quite the tale.

Yeah, people are so quick to jump on these teachers for being shitty...but I have much more experience with it being the other way around. When I was in high school, there were kids who were just so incredibly disrespectful to the teacher and absolutely never listened and seemed to make it their goal to make every teacher's life difficult. Yeah, some teachers are kind of shitty...but usually I've seen it the other way around. And we have absolutely no idea what it's like to deal with some of these more extreme cases of daily harassment from these students.

I can tell you from experience, especially working in a high school, that sometimes students just push you until you end up dropping to their level and it takes every bit of you not to, especially when they are being disrespectful of the entire class and they do it constantly. I saw a coworker lose it on a kid in Global for constantly saying Heil Hitler because he was being disrespectful as usual and the teacher also happened to be jewish and had a grandparent that was in Auschwitz. He didnt get in their face but definitely raised voices, told him he was being a disrespectful jackass and kicked him out before settling down and teaching. Kid came in the next day and apologized.

These parents never believe the teachers when they tell them their child misbehaves in class and doesn't do anything.
These kids know they have total immunity. I've seen kids make teachers straight up go into depression, and cry in the middle of class. But of course those stupid kids won't film that on their phones...

Me and my friend are really quiet good kids with great grades. I was confused about an assignment our substitute gave us (apparently I was looking at the wrong PowerPoint) so I asked him to come to help me. The sub was actually our secretary that worked in the office and I've seen her before and she never really liked me. I just always had this bad feeling about her and this was the first time she was our substitute. The entire class was very quiet, and me and my friend were whispering to each other while he helped me get the right PowerPoint. The sub suddenly goes "you know, I've heard a lot of good things about this class, but I'm very confused since students are moving and talking and sleeping instead of doing their assignment." I explained to her that he was helping me, and she says "I don't need your comeback." I tried explain that I was only trying to let her know, and I asked who was sleeping since everyone was awake and doing their work. This is literally the most well-behaved class I've ever been in. She raises her voice and says something along the lines of "you're acting up and talking back" so I stand my ground and say "no I wasn't talking back, you just seemed upset that he was helping me (our teacher allows us to help each other, talk, and move around the room because we are literally seniors, not children. Also this assignment wasn't graded.) And I was just trying to let you know that it was all okay." This woman screAMS "SHUT UP (insert my name)" literally everyone in the class is SHOCKED. Like, this is suppose to be our secretary. I got up and started walking out of the classroom because I knew she was probably trying to get me mad and make me yell to get me in trouble, and I wasn't having it. As I walked out of the classroom, she says "yeah, you can go talk to the counselor." And I just said "yes ma'am." Wanna know what I did? I talked to the counselor and told her everything and I got that woman in trouble. I will not be treated like I am less than you just because of my age. They say respect your elders, I will respect elders that respect me, because I will not discriminate against anyone for age.

Some teachers really don't have self control, but I think it's really stupid that kids get a free pass. Having a teacher as my dad in junior high, and thus hearing more about what my teachers dealt with...
Some kids just made their life hell. Parents are letting the internet and these teachers raise their kids, and act oh so protective when the teacher says they're not good students.
They've ruined the lives of some of the teachers I've had. Being a good teacher, in my book, has as high of honor as being a good parent.
Life can be dangerous for teachers these days, and really just people in any workplace. You make an enemy of someone, and all they have to do is accuse you of a harmful act, and it can ruin your life.
My dad has security cameras in his classrooms, not because he's afraid of someone stealing equipment from the woodshop or computer lab, but because if a stupid kid tries to make his life hell, he can bring up the footage and prove his innocence.

This kind of reminds me of one time in high school when I was sitting in the Vice Principal's office over something completely stupid that had absolutely no need to result in disciplinary action, and I told the man as much. Angry at my indignance, he asked me how I'd like it if he called my mother. I said that would be absolutely fine by me. So he called her on speakerphone and explained to her the situation, and she lost her shit at him for bothering her during the day with something so stupid. He quickly picked up the handset, and began to apologize profusely.
Humblebraggish epilogue: some years later my mother told me that he later tried to get me expelled, and she talked to the principal about how insane it was. He just laughed and told her that my test scores were too high and the school would lose some funding if they kicked me out anyway.

As someone who originally wanted to be a High School Teacher and I worked along side a handful of teachers, yes I know it can be very stressful, but it's not right to lose your temper at a student no matter the age. My horror story was a teacher i had in 4th grade noticed notes being passed around in the area where I sat and so assuming it was me, decided he'd single me out in front of the whole class stating "I was passing notes so all of the class had to stay in for recess with their heads down because of me" pretty much those exact words to make sure I was singled out and targeted by angry classmates. It didn't matter how much I tried to tell him it wasn't me, he had made up his mind and that was what he found fitting as a punishment. 1. Accused the wrong kid, 2. The wrong kid then loses all friends because they had to be punished as well 3. I did figure out who it was but at that point the damage was already done so I just left it. But most importantly 4! What teacher in their right mind would do that to a young kid like that....especially seeing as he got it wrong and then chose this very cruel and unusual form of discipline...as an adult and looking back on that, it's something I just don't understand and won't ever forget.

A very similar scenario happened to me in ART. I was typically the quiet kid who got super loud and goofy when around people I was comfortable with and shared too much information. Most teachers liked me(they didn't LOVE me though cus I was(and *am*) lazy and lacking any work ethic.) this arr teacher though, she fucking HATED my work ethic. Like she would get so mad at me and blame me for taking longer than other classmates to do an assignment, meanwhile she's over here shooting down all my ideas and not letting me paint/draw what I enjoy(as all good art teachers do of course 🤪). I also needed silence to be able to focus, and with every single student in the class including my hilarious table mates talking, I never get anything done. So I started bringing earbuds and listening to music to tune everyone out(which was allowed by said art teacher). I had a problem also with being distracted by certain songs as well. Either they stopped me from work entirely or I would be sitting there trying to pain but constantly replaying three lyrics from a song I wasn't even listening to over and over. So I often changed the songs around all the time. But I got more work down than before. My art teacher however, interpreted this as "me being on my phone all the time.". She would call me up to her desk in the middle of class, to tell me to stop using my phone. I would let her know I was just picking music, and she'd send me off again. Somehow, that escalated, I guess she no longer was okay with me picking songs, so she started calling me out, THROUGH the classroom. I'd be chilling, doing work and go to change a song, and suddenly she's fucking calling me out across the classroom as I'm literally on the opposite end to tell me to get off my phone, while my friend who sat beside me almost NEVER got off their phone(but they were a naturally good artist and had a way better work ethic so the teacher just fucking loved them and it just made them exempt of anything bad). Of course, her constant berating and the students always talking and the songs never being right and never being able to fully express myself in my art really bubbled over on a good day. I became unbelievably stressed while taking that class. One day, when everyone is leaving, she singles me out again, and tells me to wait. God that was embarrassing. Finally when everyones gone, she starts complaining about my phone usage again. THEN, she gives me an ULTIMATUM. If I don't hand in my phone to her before every class, she will revoke phone privileges from the entire class. THE ENTIRE CLASS GETS THEIR PHONES TAKE AWAY "by me". She literally said that to a 15-16 year old girl. It make some livid to this day. Of course I'm gunna hand in my phone, I'm sure you understand VERY WELL the fucking ridicule and daggers you'd get from classmates. As an anxiety ridden teen, it scared the daylights out of me.
Despite how much I HATED being in the teachers class, they really helped me out of a tough spot senior year. I just wish they would fucking reel in their scare tactics. Shit like that can follow a kid. So I'm with ya when you say you don't understand why a teacher would do that AND pick such an intense punishment. Like it's basically like "be bullied or obey me". It's crazy. Sorry this was super long, I get ranty when I think about this freakin' teacher. Grinds my gears to this day and it's been a few years. Hope yer doing okay though and not lettin' that experience run your life. That shit is hard to forget, so we'll just walk over it and leave it behind lmao. Power to ya!

A teacher who mainly worked with special ed kids would yell to make my class be quiet while teaching the importance of being calm or respecting others. I've had a hard time trusting teachers and their "Be nice to everyone" lessons since then.

i had a teacher once who was so patient and kind with EVERYONE. well, one day almost EVERYONE was just not trying, just being little meanies, saying “i don’t u n d e r s t a n d”, etc. she FLIPPED. threw a chair across the room and flipped a desk. she immediately regretted it and left the room and everyone was just speechless lmfao.

I sympathize with some of these teachers. I’m sure for many it was a breaking point. There was probably a lot of emotional abuse combined with a school administration that didn’t support the teachers through it that led to them finally cracking. That being said once you are at that point it’s time to jump ship and find a different job. Staying in that field at that point benefits no one except the powers that be who just want to fill slots the cheapest and easiest way they can.

This reminds me of my 7th grade math teacher who was extremely abusive and unstable. One minute she'd be really sweet and then the next minute she'd snap and start screaming at us because we didn't get a problem correct. We were already a remedial class, meaning we all had trouble with math and needed extra help because we were behind. One day she called me up to the board to solve a problem and I didn't get it right and she started berating me in front of the entire class. This was so traumatic for me that I dissociated so hard that I blocked out the memory. The only reason I know it happened is because years later I was talking to my best friend from 7th grade and we had that class together and we were talking about how fucking insane that teacher was and we were wondering how she even had her job, and my friend asked me if I remembered that day and I couldn't, so she told me everything that happened. I don't doubt that in some of these videos that maybe some of these were because of a shithead student provoking a teacher, but also, I'm absolutely certain some of these are just abusive, shite teachers who have no business doing the job they're doing because they fucking suck at it. 💯

When I would ask content related questions in highschool I was yelled at for “challenging the teacher” and now as a student in graduate school I realize how messed up that was and found out it’s most likely because teachers do not like to admit they don’t know something while professors are happy to admit they don’t know and are willing to look it up and get back to you with an answer.

(especially a religion that says “hey you are going to sin and make mistakes and you will never be perfect but you are still loved by god” and use it in a way to guilt and attack people?)
