I'm worried there might be some confusion here about if it's illegal to walk up to someone's house. Jumping a fence isn't ok. Going into property with a "no trespassing" sign isn't ok. Those can lead to you being prosecuted. Walking up to a house without those and knocking on the door, completely legal according to the Supreme Court. Refusing to leave the property, not legal. Now you've got a general guideline. Don't do illegal stuff.
@@loverrlee trying to open the door is a completely separate thing, unless you're talking about opening a screen door (since that's often done so someone can knock on the actual door). Coming up to your door, and knocking or ringing the bell, is legal.

Hey Scott, here's the answer to your question: I'm 30. I went to college after high school, but I never finished. I worked random jobs: waiter, baseball field guy, thrift store pricer, I worked at Tesla, and I built cabinets, just to name a few.
I'm now currently going back to school with a major in music. I want to be a music theory teacher, and a guitar teacher. I've been playing for 23 years, so I'm pretty advanced and I want to make a living with music or at least music education.
What if they come up to your house and try to open the door at 3 am?
@@loverrlee trying to open the door is a completely separate thing, unless you're talking about opening a screen door (since that's often done so someone can knock on the actual door). Coming up to your door, and knocking or ringing the bell, is legal.
the coolest “what do you do for a living”-story I’ve heard was from a podcast where they explained their friend had seen someone sitting in a limo, smoking a cigar and the friend said it was so weird to see that he just had to ask the dude how he could afford it. So friend walks up to the guy, goes “I’m sorry but I have to ask, what kind of work makes you this much money?”
The guy says “no work. I’ve played the lottery for the past 30 years and I finally won”.
insane.
Also I'm pretty sure most people would assume a rando filming you at your house and asking what you do for a living: that a call to the cops about a suspected burglar at most or just a "get off my property" at least
I'm suprised none of them didn't call the cops on him.
