      I bet that was a bit of a joke, the 'some kind of...' and then star trek being actually said for the first time in what, 40 years of the shows, movies etc. Fantastic. Hardcore trekkers must have bust a nut over this. In star trek: first contact. I suspected it had never been said before on the show. Amazing little bit of fun For the fans.

      Max Mills Nope, just a delete key. It's probably XXX gravimetric interference. It must be XXX a force field. Etc. Most names of things imply their subtypes. Even if you're not sure what it is, use a more general term: instead of "It appears to be some kind of car" say "It appears to be a vehicle."

      @@skierpage "Some kind of car" is way more specific than "some kind of vehicle." The former clearly rules out aeroplanes and ships, for example, whilst making clear that the whatever has some properties that make it a-typical from a car we're used to.

    To be fair to Voyager, they spent the whole series in an area of the galaxy with completely different technology. The only way of explaining things they encountered was by comparison.

    These lines always made me feel like the writers forgot to fully finish a line.
    Like "and here the crew sees some kind of distortion" so when it translates into a line it's read literally "some kind of" thing.

      Never bothered me much but I got very annoyed at all the uses of "47". Almost any time they give a number they used 47. Started in TNG and got severely overused in Voyager and some of Enterprise

    For a while I was calling Voyager and Deep Space Nine "Says Things Twice" It might be rarer than I remember but they often had a character say things twice for emphasis. Like this: "Cheif, do you say things twice for emphasis?" "Yes, I do Trekkie, yes I do."

    It’s one of those little things Star Trek as a whole is full of but voyager leaned on it the most, or at least seemed to. This was one video that never seemed to end and I’ll never watch it again, because it succeeded so well. Great video just one I can never endure more than once!

    I watch this show every day. normally about 2episodes a day. this is a new fun way to watch. I watched blood fever last night and heard it at least 10 times in that one episode. if you wanted you to could make up some sort of drinking game.

    I can't believe this hasn't been done yet, but there needs to be some kind of compilation video of everytime a member of the Voyager cast raises one of their eyebrows. I first noticed Janeway doing it, then I began to notice just about everyone else doing it as the seasons progressed, lol.

      That seems less like a TV-Trope-y thing, and more of just a natural human expression. Whereas "some kind of..." is a phrase mostly exclusive to sci-fi.
