@@aronhighgrove4100 I believe it was the opposite. Crusher was HUGELY popular, and I knew it and remember reading it at the time. People were PISSED when she wasn’t there for the second season. Don’t get me wrong, the actress who played Pulaski was a Star Trek legend and was in TOS as a doctor, but she just was unlikeable and didn’t work at all with TNG. There was no “chemistry” with the rest of the crew, and she played a character that dismissed and ridiculed the most popular character on the series and the most beloved. I knew she wasn’t staying and I remember there being a collective sigh when Crusher came back.

😂 2:39 Geordi: "Let me see if I can directly access the main program." Gets zapped. Data: Grab - toss - Oops! Hurries over to check his friend. Geordi: "Data?" Data: "Yes?" Geordi: "What happened?" Data: "Any answer would be mere speculation. This is yet another example of how our actions have random results." Geordi: "Thanks, Data. I noticed." 😂😂😂😂😂 Data momentarily forgets his own strength and just yeets Geordi away from the console to save him, then realizes he just tossed a fragile by comparison human a couple of feet. At least it wasn't clear across Engineering. Data showed quite a bit of restraint, though clearly he didn't mean for Geordi to go quite that far either. It's hilarious. He's an android who could calculate exactly how much strength to use...but didn't. He was too busy simply reacting to Geordi's situation. Cute, human-like moment, plus the reaction afterwards. 11:10: Geordi betting his right hand on those android reflexes. Of course Data is in hyper-protective mode from a sense of guilt due to Lore's influence over him, so the odds were probably better than usual that Geordi's new nickname wouldn't be 'Lefty'.
2:10 I don't know if anyone cares, but the Semaphore flags on Geordi's model of the HMS Victory reads "England expects that every man will do his D U T Y" This is the message Lord Nelson had communicated to his fleet just before the battle of Trafalgar which cost Nelson his life, but was a great naval victory for the British against Napoleon. Most of the words are written in Semaphore code, thus a grouping of specific flags would symbolize entire words. For example England is a white rectangle on a blue field flag, horizontal a yellow, red, yellow striped flag, and a yellow x on a blue field flag. However the word "Duty" had no such code in the book, so it had to be spelled out. Nelson originally wanted to use the word "confides" instead of "expects" but this too had no corresponding code and would be too much trouble to spell it out. Nice detail on that ship!
The channel Ryan's Edits creates "intakes" which they seamlessly edit in outtakes into the scenes. Many of them are Data and Geordi being silly and right in the same vein of them being best buddies.
Here after the “Dominion” episode of Star Trek Picard. Great compilation: these bffs are so wholesome. Friendship goals = having someone to whom you can say “You may experience the emptiness with me.”

Are we ever gonna talk about how Lore was dismantled? Wasn't it established on the show that androids are life forms? So it sounds like Lore got a summary death sentence?
@@thatguyfromcetialphaV I so agree. They are both incredible actors. Spiner can carry an entire show all by himself, and then play three characters. He carried shows by himself multiple times. LeVar Burton is just incredible with his emotional range. You SEE the pain it caused him when Data died. In Nemesis they never truly expanded on how it must’ve felt for him to watch Data die knowing it was Data who went into space to the Scimitar with his help, and I believe they both knowing this was it, they were seeing each other most likely for the last time. The last look they give each other in Nemesis says it all. Data stared at him and waited for Geordi to gently nod his head. LeVar is just amazing. We finally see how painful and devastating it was for Geordi when Data died and how it truly influenced the rest of his life in a major way. To say it made him a “better man” and a “better father” is intense. No one says that unless they truly loved the other knowing how much Data with the chip or not, loved him. Data with with him everyday. Their acting is superb.
@@moniquebaldea9299 Nemesis is a huge misstep that could have been fantastic. It did have some good moments. I talk about it in one of my videos if you are interested.
I'm sad becasue I realised Data didn't get a chance to be Geordi's best man, I mean La Forge has two daughters in Picard, so he probably got married, and that was probably after Nemesis
@@DominikaGarbal It’s beautiful in Picard, Geordie says that Data’s death “broke” him, and that the memory of him taught him how to be a better man, a better husband, and a better father. Those are some SERIOUSLY strong word right there!! For a man to admit that, and after raising a beautiful family, having a successful marriage, two beautiful children, and being so high in rank, that shows love. That shows how he carried Data with him. That shows the grief he had. That shows depth. In Picard when Data was fighting Lore, he was terrified he’d lose Data again. And that look in Nemesis as well…the last time they looked at each other and Data just held his gaze with Geordie. Heartbreaking. He knew he was saying goodbye and he needed Geordie to say it as okay to let him go.
Before I say anything else, Data has always been my favorite character in the whole of Star Trek as a franchise and I love when Geordi and Data bounce off each other. I think it's so sweet in "Identity Crisis" when Dr. Crusher says he's worried about Geordi and his response was he was "highly motivated." Another scene I feel that way about is when he spends the episode getting advice on how best to honor Geordi because he was Data's "best friend." He put together that party to celebrate his life. That said, TNG? Hey, TN...no! Over here! Yeah, good. What have I told you about continuity? No n...no I know it's a lot to keep track of! Come on! At 9:32 Data said he sunk to the bottom of a lake because he was too heavy. Remember "insurection?" Data says, "In the event of a water landing, I have be designed to serve as a flotation device." Honestly TNG. I expect better of you.
Maybe Data's android body was modified so that he could float after that experience of sinking to the bottom of the lake? Btw, I agree with you, Data has been one of my favorite ST characters too and I think he became as popular as he had because of Brent Spiner's amazing talent as well as his striking good looks.
This video is making me notice consciously something I'd only ever picked up on subconsciously before tonight: LeVar Burton's voice changed significantly in those seven years. . . . Actually, it took a lot less than the seven years. I wonder whether perhaps he had surgery in his nose or throat, or perhaps the new VISOR fit differently in a way that affected his speech. I don't think it was the VISOR, though, because the same change happened on Reading Rainbow.
"It is a beard, Geordi." Data forgets that normal, visible light is among the spectrums Geordi's VISOR cannot display, therefore he can't tell what the disturbance on Data's chin is.
The Data/Geordi friendship is *TOO* wholesome, and hits on many levels: Work buddies, the nerd-friends, 'different but the same' the White/Black (Salt n Pepper) Best Friends 💯
“I’m not offended, you are upset. Your reactions are not surprising.” This shows the difference between someone with emotions and without, Data, with no emotions can clearly understand he might lash out when faced with an semblance of truth that might not sit well, instead of feeling hurt because his friend lashed out, or got angry just because he was trying to help, he expected such an action and thus wasn’t phased by it, if only emotional creatures such as us could have this level of forward thinking. This is one of the most powerful lines here, even if it isn’t just related to their friendship.
They had a quirky wonderful friendship...I read somewhere Data was 500 years old. No wonder He wanted to die.. Thank you for sharing thier unique friendship......
Spiner and Burton have said they had a running bet to see how many "head nods" between Geordi and Data they could get on camera.

Then again, I was thinking only of her mispronouncing Data's name and calling him "it". There is also the episode ("Penpals"?) in which she says, emphatically, "Data's friend is going to die. That means something"-and grumpy Worf is the one to dismiss her point by saying "To Data."
Brent Spiner took the beautiful subtlety of Leonard Nimoy's Spock character, added a little more comedy and made it perfect. The small gestures and little stuff that only the fans get. It's so perfect. I love their relationship.
I am in total awe of Brent Spiner. His talent is marvelous and as he gets older he's pretty hot.
aaaaaaaaa oh my god i love them so much!!! thank you for this video!! they're so sweet and i love how respectful they are with each other, geordi never treats data as lesser
The way Data talks about Geordi at 23:07 ❤
🥺💖
Going to Data for an emotional conversation and then being offended by him not understanding is entirely on Geordi 😅
Data appreciated the learning experience, I'm sure.
😂 2:39
Geordi: "Let me see if I can directly access the main program."
Gets zapped.
Data: Grab - toss - Oops!
Hurries over to check his friend.
Geordi: "Data?"
Data: "Yes?"
Geordi: "What happened?"
Data: "Any answer would be mere speculation. This is yet another example of how our actions have random results."
Geordi: "Thanks, Data. I noticed."
😂😂😂😂😂
Data momentarily forgets his own strength and just yeets Geordi away from the console to save him, then realizes he just tossed a fragile by comparison human a couple of feet.
11:10:
Geordi betting his right hand on those android reflexes.
"Data?" "Yes, Geordi?" "What happened?" "er well the ship electrocuted you and I had to um.....throw you half way across the room....sir".
Data outranks Geordi: he's the second officer.
that wince at seeing how far he accidentally threw him
@@dupersuper1938 They are both lieutenant commanders.
@@warsaw1548 But Data's the second officer.
Data forgetting that he has the strength of like 20+ grown men.
The channel Ryan's Edits creates "intakes" which they seamlessly edit in outtakes into the scenes. Many of them are Data and Geordi being silly and right in the same vein of them being best buddies.
I honestly enjoy data's jokes. I'm a sucker for classic humor.
It's in the delivery 🤖Brent Spiner is amazing.
He should try standup
this is pure friendship nad everyone needs a friend as close as these two are
Total friendship goals.
Includeling the kidelies got a genuine laugh out of me xD
Here after the “Dominion” episode of Star Trek Picard. Great compilation: these bffs are so wholesome. Friendship goals = having someone to whom you can say “You may experience the emptiness with me.”
Wow. Now that you say it like that. It makes so much sense. I am sure with the context of what is happening, the fact that the writers have it in there is no accident.
“Thusly.” 😂 I love how casually they where sitting next to each other in the observation lounge. (I was about to refer it to the Magic Meeting Room, then I thought that I’d have to reference the UA-cam channel Sci-fi Debris. 😅😜 Which is what Chuck refers it to.)
The friendship between Data and Geordi is the greatest bromance in Trek history.
9:55 data comes up with an excuse to prolong the procedure right then and there he had his conscious talking
My fondest memories of TNG is the dialogue between Data and Geordi. I love their friendship and comradery.
2:45 I wish there was more 'oops I forgot my own strength' moments like this.
Omg, that last clip got to me. Thanks for putting this compilation together. I needed this today.
I met Mr. Spiner once. One of my favorite actors
Two of the best characters in the Trek universe.
I wonder if LeVar Burton and Brent Spiner would ever have done a one-off buddy action movie just for fans of the Data+Geordi friendship. Maybe it's been done and I missed it. Very awesome compilation here! :)
Are we ever gonna talk about how Lore was dismantled? Wasn't it established on the show that androids are life forms? So it sounds like Lore got a summary death sentence?
I'm sure we're all thrilled to be able to say this video needs updating now 😏😏
When Geordi told Data that when he died, it had broken him, LeVar Burton was so good in that scene. LeVar does not get the love he deserves I think.
@@thatguyfromcetialphaV he truly doesn't, he is remarkable
@@thatguyfromcetialphaV I never cry from tv but damn I was so close when I saw that scene. Levar deserves an award for that scene
4:23 A moment in history like Zephyrin Cochran making the first warp drive... to think that They made a movie about that later on.
And Geordi was there to witness it.
this may very well be the finest television series ever produced - the high water mark of television.
Lt. Commander Data is such a fascinating character. I love the way he talks and his behavior and mannerisms
23:08 the definitive Data scene describing both friendship, AND Geordi La Forge.
Such a shame Geordie barely reacts at all to his bff's death....nothing in that film made me madder.
As usual with Nemesis, the deleted scenes give him tons of grieving time onscreen
Data and Geordi are the best bros in the universe.
Data and Geordi are the closest we'll get to Troy and Abed on a Spaceship.
I feel like they drew a lot of inspiration from Data and Geordi
"Includling the kiddlies!" XD I started giggling before Geordie did lol
Spiner and Lavar had great chemistry
23:07 is the reason why this show was so good. Great writing.
What an actual, badass friend to have.
Been waiting for this compilation, cheers
Absolutely heartwarming friendship❤
4:36 why do they look like two concrened fathers talking to their child
So that would make Jean-Luc their child? Interesting concept…
4:30 this is somehow relatable to me
I love these 2 so much. What a fantastic show. One of the best shows ever made imo.
Or maybe ita just edited in this compilation to avoid copyright
@@facelessdrone , eh?
A beautiful edit. I was hoping it might include movie scenes as well though.
Data - :)
Geordi - !)
Wouldn't Data be more like :I And Geordie be like I)
Omigosh that took me back. Thank you so much
"It is a beard, Geordi."
Data forgets that normal, visible light is among the spectrums Geordi's VISOR cannot display, therefore he can't tell what the disturbance on Data's chin is.
I forgot about that 😂 that makes way more sense now 😂
The Data/Geordi friendship is *TOO* wholesome, and hits on many levels: Work buddies, the nerd-friends, 'different but the same' the White/Black (Salt n Pepper) Best Friends 💯
Space the final frontier, these are the 11-pm to 7-am voyages of the Enterprise's Night Crew and it's continuing mission is to PARTAYYYY!!
There is apparently talk of a remake of STTNG, nobody could portray Data like Brent Spiner, he is Data.
How do you think Jim Parsons would do?
No.
00:09.Think Goerdi should have run into Data, you don't jump in front of a blind man like that
I really like the first scene. It gives intimidating “You cannot escape my jokes” vibes
You chose the perfect scene to end with. Very nice.
"Troy and Abed in the morning" 🌞
4:23 "...or Zephram Cochrane engage the first Warp Drive!"
Little did he know at that time, that he, in a few years, would get THAT wish fulfilled!
You did well with these two(?) Data data collections - I thoroughly enjoyed them, & found the experience quite sufficient.
Haven’t fully watched this yet, but thanks for making it!
Data with a beard. Mirror, Mirror, Revisited.
“I’m not offended, you are upset. Your reactions are not surprising.”
This shows the difference between someone with emotions and without, Data, with no emotions can clearly understand he might lash out when faced with an semblance of truth that might not sit well, instead of feeling hurt because his friend lashed out, or got angry just because he was trying to help, he expected such an action and thus wasn’t phased by it, if only emotional creatures such as us could have this level of forward thinking. This is one of the most powerful lines here, even if it isn’t just related to their friendship.
What an exceptional series this was. Writing, acting, character development. I miss it.
Geordi foreshadowing himself being there when Zefram Cochrane engages the first Warp drive.
4:20 "Or watch Zefram Cochrane engage the first warp drive." Little does he know, he'll get to see that too. And help!
I hope to GOD our AI comes out like Data...
