Agreed. That and having a whole series being completed within one console life cycle. It's crazy to think we had 3 Mass Effect games on the PS3 and XBOX 360.
@LJAndrews1986 Fair chat, can’t knock you there. I’d have happily waited if it meant BioWare could have stuck the landing in the end of ME3. I’ve seen trailers of the next Mass Effect game that is in the works, are you optimistic or are you going to adopt the “I’ll have to see it to believe it” approach? For me I think it’ll be cool to explore the world once again, and see new things, but given BioWare’s recent form, I just can’t believe they will be able to recapture the magic.
@@717UT Yeah I envy new players too, I'll never forget the beginning of ME2 or it's ending, or a lot of moments in ME3, bro I love this game i should go
@@Stterling21 ME 2 was truly epic. I've never felt like such a hero as when I finished it for the first time. And the Shadow Broker DLC was perfect in every way.
Bro, I got the legendary edition for £4.99 in the steam sale. I couldn't agree more. But it's also run by EA and the launcher is poop on my steam deck 😭😭😭
I was a latecomer to the trilogy, I didn't experience it until the legendary edition came out. That said, I agree with you on every point. I got so emotional during this game, that in itself was a new experience to me. I had to remove my glasses at the end while saying goodbye to everyone because I was bawling like a baby. Such a great game/experience. I've logged several play throughs now and I'm always finding new things that I missed and new dialog. Whether you play as a renegade or a paragon this game is epic.
Glad you eventually found this gem. I'm actually surprised to see how many people feel this way. Good to see I'm not the only one who was tearing up. It may be strange, but for me I always cry when you shake jokers hand before going back to earth in ME3. It just hits so hard.
Bro what, I was watching this and I assumed you where a popular UA-camr but when I looked at the views and subs I was astonished you where a small UA-camr. This video is something I’d see on an already developed 100k sub channel. Good work man!
I played this series for the first time this year and finished it a few months ago. I keep thinking about it. I think they hit on an amazing formula. 1. Deep world building 2. Meaningful choices. 3. Character development 4. Relationship building. 5. Engaging story. If any game series did this, it too would have a shot of "best game/series of all time." Writers.... start your engines....
Mass Effect is one of a kind in my books. There are many games with phenomenal stories, but Mass Effect still stands as the best. I've never played a game where I genuinely cared for so many characters. I mean name a better bromance than Shepard and Garrus.
Thanks mate, really appreciate it. Put alot of work in this one. Only real disappointment is that I feel I could have done better on the audio quality. That's for the next video though.
You gave me shivers while watching this. Thank you for shining a little more light on this forgotten legendary series. More people need to experience the greatness of this series and understand that a great game doesn't need to have great combat or graphics or even multiplayer, it just needs to have a great story, one everyone loves, from the OG to Andromeda they all had great stories, and I hope that we will be again able to see the magic of this series in Mass Effect 5.
I think what really sets this trilogy apart is that the characters become real to you. There are many games with excellent characters but I have never played another game where I genuinely think of the characters as my friends. It feels strange saying this in a way but its the truth and these characters live with you long after the credits roll.
@@Casual.YT.Enjoyer I always finish my Mass Effect playthroughs :D I really enjoyed replaying, ME1's updates are really nice though the gunplay improvements do outstrip the biotics a bit so combat kind of defaults to guns for me. The graphics being brought up to match was also really nice, and everything being polished etc meant that I had zero bugs. All in all, I hada great playthrough :)
Which game are you on? If still on ME2, here's a pro tip to help minimize crew deaths. Only collect the reaper IFF once you have done like all of the availible loyalty missions at that time. You will thank me later 😁
Awesome! Don't rush things. Take your time to do side quests. There comes a point of no return and if you haven't done everything you had to do, you will regret it.
I started mass effect legendary edition recently, never been able to get into rpg's. Ive gotten to ME2 and reunited with Garrus and rescued Jack. Really enjoying the writing and the gameplay feels pretty good too. Glad I discovered this.
Glad you found it to. More people need to play it. Quick warning though, please!!!!!! don't collect the reaper IFF until you have completed all other availible side missions (arrival DLC excluded). You will thank me later.
This version of ME1, with all the fixes and improvements, is easily my favorite of the trilogy now. It's so much more of an RPG than the others, every single character is compelling, the dialogue is just as good as the others, and the pacing of it all is perfect.
@@anthonytitone Mad fam, you definitely got more hours in than me. Did you by any chance do a full on renegade playthrough? Given your hours, I suspect you have. I've never had the guts to do it personally, when I tried.
@@lufromhades96 ya I struggled to get through a renegade play through for a while until I came up with a fun concept. Instead of playing a badass renegade I decided to be an incompetent renegade who’s always unreasonably angry, stupid & xenophobic. All the squadmates who could possibly die did, Shepard never found love & he chose the secret refuse ending cause he decided that this cycle isn’t ready for the harvest to end (even tho it’s mostly his fault.) I came up with the idea from choices like telling the biotic god to charge to his death & threatening citadel store owners in ME2😂. Imo renegade is boring when playing it seriously because ur not making choices that speak to what u would actually want but a funny renegade is engaging.
@anthonytitone That’s an interesting approach. Don’t think I could do it still, my fragile little heart couldn’t bear to do it 😂. I love all the characters too much… except for Jacob, Ashley and Kaiden. Expect a character ranking video soon 🤔.
I'll grant that I'm perhaps a little too harsh on ME1. I think it's cause the experience feels the most dated. Still highly recommend it to those aiming to get the full experience.
The multiplayer (not available in LE, but still active in original ME3) is a master class in horde shooters as well. They obviously made it in a rush, but the enemies from the core game are so. perfectly. designed. that they translate right over to MP and make gameplay consistently exciting.
Underrated comment sir. Couldn't agree more. That horde mode was funnily enough my first online experience. Though one thing I'm kinda happy about was getting rid of galactic readniness.
I agree. There is just nothing like it that i know of. My first time playing was actually in 2021 (legendary edition). And it personally became my favourite game ever next to cyberpunk 2077.
Short answer: Because the games are still amazing. I finally played them for the first time in 2021 not that long after the Legendary Edition came out and it was a fantastic journey.
Man I remember first time playing mass effect, I started at 3 n was so in love with games that I got the previous 2 games on Xbox 360 n never found that magic in another game
This is the first year I havent done a trilogy play thru since they came out. taking a break don't want to wear them out too badly, They are the greatest of games, the characters and the music and the everything
I have to say after coming back to this franchise my favorite ME game is ME1 so many choices I’m a sucker for dialogue choices 😂 an the graphics look so good
Bruh I just finished the trilogy for the first time a few days back (after boiling my eyes out with tears, loved the citadel dlc), and I couldn't agree more with this. The characters are everything in this, love them all. Now I'm with Andromeda, the gameplays is actually good tbf; and they travel animation when picking another planet or system actually blew my mind
Glad you enjoyed it. The game brings me to tears to. Yah, Andromeda gets more hate than it deserves in my opinion. Been wanting to make a video on it, just wanna finish streaming Elden ring, and replaying the dragon age series to give my thoughts on Veilguard and the franchise as a whole.
Lost count of how many times I played through this great trilogy, first on ps3 and then with legendary edition on ps4, just because of how awesome it is. Since I couldn't access some extra content back on ps3, I was even more happy after getting Legendary Edition because it has everything I missed back then.
Good lord it really is not perfect! It's beautiful and emotional and as a collective is in my goat category. Replayed them enough that I sunk hundreds of hours in. The dialogue and characters are wonderful at times and it is absolutely epic. Beautiful, but not perfect. And arguably more charming for it's flaws
I finally played it for the first time with Legendary Edition - it really does keep you engaged all the way through and when you see the effect of something you did in the next game you often go back and want to fix the bad decisions you made. It's pretty easy to mod it too on PC, so the ending for 3 and the final battle etc. all have been made better by the modding community. The OG ending just was not satisfying after being so drawn in the whole way through. There are mods to streamline the first game - still worth playing for the story and setup but it is the hardest to get through since it is so much slower paced. Overall though, it is an amazing series - if you like story based RPG's and sci-fi then you need to experience it at least once.
From all games I've played in my entire life very few had me emotionaly distraught such as ME3, most notably towards the last mad dash to the beam. I joined the crew fairly late and played the trillogy twice, for the first time in the last three weeks. To hear Liara playing "Vigil", to have a last minute banter with Garrus in the top of the Citadel and FINALLY, to accompany my Shepard singing along with Tali at the Citadel DLC. That's a well written story of frendship, comradery and love built throughout all games that is totally unforgettable. All of this is just a tiny bit of the massive amount of content that large part of the crew gets but nontheless, it shows how we, as players grew to love most part of characters, to watch their personal development and to somewhat sharing all of this through their relationship with Shepard. At the same time the ending brings some very needed closure to this universe I SIMPLY CANNOT HELP NOT BEING OVER THIS ENDING and how it was done. I don't know if it was because of the hopelessness of the Reaper odds (even though I got perfect destroy) or if it was because the Normandy crew bond with Commander Shepard was abruptly cut in the finale. Maybe it was both but to see some of the characters you've shared jokes, stressful moments and happiness in such a short amount of time dealing with grief its painful to watch, and even if there might be some beauty to it, you grieve it too.
That was beautiful friend... Just beautiful, pretty much captured my feelings exactly. Wish I could go back in time and ask you to add this in the video. I can feel the passion. Glad you found this game, and are part of the community. This series is a gem, I said it was goated way back in 2012, and still feel the same now. There's no game I've seen at least, that has gotten me to care so much about characters. Out of curiosity, what did you prefer more, sniper shots with Garrus in the citadel, or the farwell chat? For me it's the farewell chat, I always cry when I see it
@@lufromhades96 Shepard's farewell in London, "may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead" hits different after broshep's story with Garrus. Their last piece of dialog is the reason i always bring him to the beam
Thanks for the support mate. Really appreciate it. I've got a few videos planned, andromeda is one of them. It'll likely be released in a few months, as I'm trying to release other videos before that, and life stuff. But you have been heard friend🫡. Next vidoes will be character tierlist, and ranking the controversiall ME3 endings.
Been playing the series w my teenagers- He loved me1, but then he played Me2 and is currently doing the loyalty missions of the crew so he can get 100% survival on the last assault on the collectors- he is blown away by the actual rpg elements involved w multiple play through by choosing paragon vs Renegade options in speech checks- So freaking good!
Just finished the trilogy for the first time week ago.. I was trying to not start a new play through in the day i finished it, so i started just yesterday 😂. All my life the witcher trilogy was the best trilogy i ever played for a whole life, but when i finished Mass effect 1 i already knew where it goes, i already knew that the witcher trilogy will have to go on the second place after this and i regretted that i never tried it before, but at the same time i’m glad because i had a chance to play this for the first time when i’m already an adult. 10/10 We’ve had a good ride.. The best.
@@lufromhades96 haha also great video man, keep it up, really good quality, people in the comment section aren’t wrong, i would think you really popular content creator.
This is one of the best cultural experiences in my life regardless of category: book, movie, tv series, music, graphic novel, video game. Mass Effect Trilogy is simply phenomenal.
It's my favorite trilogy by far, and easily the best cast of characters in any game, and you know what..I didn't mind the ending when I played it the first time, and I feel it became perfect after in the Legendary edition
Thanks to having near all dlcs ME3 offers some fun builds. Like the Electro trooper: engineer with the reegar and a build around shock cc (overload and drone). I could even run in the face of some reaper rachnis to melt them (the flamethrower turret also helps with close combat)
I personally never really got that into the combat. I thought it was fun, but never tried to beat it on insanity and go hard on all the different builds. You rate I give it a try one these days?
You are not alone. Saw a comment earlier, where the dude plays the game every year. Think I may start doing the same, given that no modern game that I can think of really brings out those feels you know?
Finding and playing the ME series has been the most joyful and painful experience of my life. Everytime I finish a playthrough its like I go through withdrawl
ME1 always had my favourite atmosphere but awful gameplay. I started at xmas 2010 on the 360 so it was a biit shit but fun. Then I played it on my pc years later and it was much better but still the weakest gameplay by far. Then MELE came out and ME1 looks great, still has that great atmosphere and story but the combat is now genuinely fun to play. I just finished my replay of ME1 about 2 weeks ago and it was such a fun run, ME1 is a great game and stands as my favourite mass effect. Even though 2 and 3 have the Garrus romance, EDI and so on ME1 stands on high for me. 7:40 Except for Jacob so he can escort the crew later.
I haven't played this in ages. Never ported a character through all 3. I'm currently stating a playthrough, but Man now i remember why i had issues with ME1
0:44 That statement there is why I feel people are unfair to Andromeda, as it's a decent game, it's just not on par with an ENTIRE EPIC TRIOLOGY, it can't even compare.
Great take. Andromeda is like a 7 /10. I thought the gameplay was great and they created an interesting enough world where I wanted to learn. My main criticism, is that the characters at times felt weak and the fact that all aliens looked the same really rubbed the wrong way, ngl. Actually planning on doing a replay for a video one of these days. Will go more in depth then.
I am currently on my second playthrough of the Legendary Edition. I never got to finish the OG release on Xbox 360 and PS3, and it bothered me. I made it to Mass Effect 3 and sort of fell off after that. Then the Legendary Edition was announced while I was going through a very rough time in my life. I didn’t care that things were bad, and that I was struggling. I told myself I needed to make sure I had this game when it came out. I remember 2008 me playing this game during summer vacation, mad because I couldn’t get online to play Halo 3 or Soul Calibur IV. No online play, no PVP due to our modem malfunctioning. A week of no internet. But I had this game that I originally hated because I was used to action straight away. And then I played this, forced myself to actually listen instead of shutting the game down to go do another Team Deathmatch…and became hooked. This was the first time I played a game for the story, and it’s all I really like to do now. It’s peaceful. I’m procrastinating finishing the series a second time and getting my last Insanity trophy. I’m not ready to end this Shepard’s story, even though I’ll be back with a brand new one after a couple weeks. This game, man.
Loved this comment. Thanks for sharing friend. I stuimbled onto this franchise by accident. Friend lent me ME2 in 2011 (We traded games). It had been sitting on my shelf for months, before finally opting to play it after getting dumped by my GF at the time. I immediately got hooked, and couldn't believe I'd never played any game from this series till now. Never moved on from a broken heart so quick. It's so great to see so many fans sharing their love of the series. Thanks for sharing and the support my friend. Hope things have improved in your since your first playthrough.
Believe it or not, for years I heard the galaxy map as background music when I was studying and I didn't played it back then. Then the legendary edition camebto be and I decided, why not give it a try? Lets see what these games had to offer... And man... They didn't disappoint, they became one of my favorite games of all time. The companions are awesome. I've actually loved it so much that I did bought the games for my closest friends for Christmas. (and unfortunately they still didn't try it...) To experience mass effect, you have to play it. Are you still unsure if you should play? Let me tell you that you should!
That's kinda mad, but in all fairness the music for the trilogy was fantastic. Glad you finally got to experience the franchise, a shame your friend hasn't played the game yet. Good on you for spreading the world. Peeps need to know how amazing this franchise was.
I still needed to finish 3 😅 on my ps3. Finished 1 and 2 and yes all orbital drops harvesting and no one died. But yes genuinely if anyone hasn’t played it please play it. The sound track alone is ethereal and like interstellar like in its atmosphere. The illusive man theme alone is like wonder and intrigue 😊❤. Good video 😊
It was EAs fault that they wanted to rush ME3 for a 2012 release, the work environment was awful and the devs got crunched to max, but despite all, they were able to deliver one of the best gaming experiences ever!
Just finished all 3 games in this year once again... My tears are unstoppable... Please give me a chance to reastart my life with no memory of this best game to start Sheppard adventures once again... Tali Zora Vas Normandy is the best girl ever seen)))
same here bro, I wish I could replay this game for the first time all over again. Still love doing another replay everynow and then, but nothing beats the first playthrough.
Currently, there is a new Mass Effect game in production but whether it's based on the destroy ending, (which I believe it should be since there's a possibility Shepard lives,) or something else is anybody's guess. However, I'm hoping that whatever the developers create, it's as compelling and emotional as the trilogy was. IMO, Mass Effect is the greatest science fiction story ever made regardless of the ending and worthy of replaying.
I mean the endings to Mass Effect is perfect though. Because as much as we’d love to see Shepard continue his/her death is so much more impactful than him/her not dying. It’s supposed to bring your emotions out. I have no idea what the next Mass Effect will be, but if we for instance get to see every team members who survived through your trilogy saves reunite and reminisce about Shepard that would definitely bring back some strong emotions for the new game. The journey of emotions is what truly carries these games. Ngl just writing this made me a bit emotional.
Your passion is felt. I was getting a little emotional just reading your comment. I agree the current endings are given a tad too much hate, but I wouldn't call it perfect. I feel like there are a few things that could have improved the packaging of the endings. Seeing Shepards crew and just the galaxy as a whole honouring Shepard after his death would be amazing. I actually read a bit of fanfiction that did just that. Yah it would be beautiful to see.
I always just heard about Mass Effect, didn't think much of it, and tried out the Legendary Edition on a whim...now you'd think i was an obsessive fanboy from years gone by
Must play, incredible story fr. I played with some mods tho. I wanted to be able to end up with Miranda and also have a better sense of everything on the final game.
The Citadel DLC should have been the end . Shepard wins then the party then Shepard looks at Normandy the romance person comes and say THAT WAS A GOOD JOURNEY Shepard answers THE BEST and then we can leave Shepard to rest and live the rest of his her life with the person the he her romance .
I'd love to do the same, but I need to finish Elden Ring 😤, then beat the dragon age trilogy to prep for veilguard. This is all for content of course, and cause I love these games.
@DutchXFangirl Unfortunately I don't think that is the case. From what I recall from seeing in gaming news, alot of the OG Mass Effect team is gone. I think they actually making their own new IP called exodus (www.exodusgame.com/en-US), which I'm cautiously optimistic about. I still have some faith that the team making ME5 could do a good job, though I wouldn't expect anything at the same level as the OG trilogy.
Just finished Mass Effect 3 and not gonna lie maybe is because is fresh but ill put it down as one of the greatest triologies of all time to me is a 10/10
@@EpicDrew15 yeah i mean i understand why ppl hated the ending but i dont know i guess i didnt bother me that much. Maybe because i knew the whole time Shepard was going to die but by destroying the reapers i think it wraps up Shepards story in a solid triology. Its not a happy ending but is a hopeful one.
I think a lot of the hate boils down came from how the endings were initially presented before the extended cuts DLC. I guess the old saying holds true, it's not always what you said, but how you said it, and how the endings were initially presented left much to be desired. But I feel the same as you, after coming back to the franchise after awhile, the endings don't piss me off anymore. I always just feel a little bit melancholic, cause the epic ride has come to end.
At first i didnt get the Legendary edition because i already had the 360 games with their DLCs except weapons and armors. But at 6.99 how can i say no to playing this at 120fps on Series X. Love Mass Effect.
I played the first one in 2007/2008 and then the other two a couple years later. I was so turned off by the original ending that I completely erased my memories of the game. When Legendary Edition came out, it was like playing it for the first time again, and the ending was much, much, much better.
A really cool aspect is how humans have only know the galactic community for 30 years. Whereas some of the other species have known of it when humans were in the bronze age.
I've beaten this game series at least 10 times over. I've gotten every achievement recently, done an Insanity Renegade run as one of my more recent runs and let me fucking tell you. The gut punches in 3 are far worse than getting my shit rocked by Collector's in 2. But I knew that if the crew was going to suffer me being a douchebag being Renegade, I was also going to suffer playing on the hardest difficulty. But FUCK if I'm not going to keep playing this masterpiece. This series, as you said, is a space epic/drama that rivals Star Wars and similar. I will never get tired of this series. I'm on a Sentinel playthrough right now, and have a definitive lore playthrough setup for my next run afterwards. And then many, MANY more after that since I'm just starting into the modding scene.
Dude how you can do a complete renegade playthrough, expecially in ME3? 🫢 I've seen the consequences from videos on UA-cam. I couldn't be so cold blooded 😭😭😭. Thank god you got another playthrough in the pipeline, it's criminal to have your last playthrough as all renegade. I've got quite a few playthrough, but I've never had the guts to go full renegade. Always only end up changing my romance choice pretty much.
@@lufromhades96 It's fucking rough yeah. But again, that's why I did it on Insanity. If I was going to be a dick to everyone, I was in fact going to suffer as well. ME2 is by far the hardest of the three, especially as a Vanguard. I did end up doing the WORST ending though, so just completely reset everything anyway. Shooting the star child is funny.
@@Blazer4117 I hear you. Shooting the star child is the best. I wish, if you had enough military strength you could get a hidden ending where you actually win without the crucible... Oh what could have been🥲. Atleast we still have the triology I guess.
Ok I’ll try it😭 honestly after witnessing the release of Andromeda, I just completely ignored the entire franchise. Mistake on my part fs, it’s like the GOW Ascension of the franchise… you just don’t talk about it💀 I’m glad you started uploading again tho🔥 I wish you all the best with the Channel💪
@JoshWickPlays I'm glad the video managed to convince you. The Mass Effect Trilogy is something speacial. From what I've seen of your gaming catalouge I'm sure you will enjoy it. In the freak scenario I'm wrong, I sincerly apologize 😅. And yah, never judge Mass Effect by Andromeda... PLEASE.
I think Andromeda isn't a bad game. It's just doesn't hit the mark when compared to the original trilogy. I suspect that if it was set in some other universe and not given the Mass Effect title, the opinions of it would be much higher.
Love this, but have to ask: what is your accent? Where are you from? Ok, but back to ME... it's the perfect game, made literally perfect with mods. And LE is all that much better. Thank you for continuing to spread the love for my favorite game series!
I'm South African. What did you think it was, I'm curios? And no worries mate, thanks for the support. Been meaning to make this for awhile, had to spread the word about this game. Also made this get a friend to finally play the game 😂
Sooo... I just finished ME1... twice... not something I planned... but kinda' forced myself into it. I first finished ME1 on Xbox 360... and just before I finished it, I got hold of the ME legendary edition for Xbox One/ Series. Not wanting to buy the original ME2 and ME3 for the Xbox360... and failing at importing the character I played with (canon Shepherd) to Xbox Series X ME2 LE... I decided to play ME1 LE so I could play through the trilogy with the same character. I'm kinda' glad I did, as the second time I got to enjoy the story and dialogue a little more. Some background: 42 years old here who didn't get the chance to play the ME trilogy when it first came out... so my gaming skills were a bit rusty, was used to keyboard and mouse, so adjusting to playing on a controller took a while... Now, I just started ME2 LE, and I realized immediately I miss the Normandy crew. I haven't read any walkthroughs yet, so I don't know the story line in advance... but I had that feeling... dang I wanna progress as fast as possible to the point I may be re-united with my old crew. And that, IMHO, is the power of the ME trilogy: the story that you go through as a crew, not as a single character doing all the heavy lifting. I loved how the development of each crew member went in ME1, I'm curious as to what the future holds. So, I must chime in and say: this must be played as a trilogy. Not as three separate games... Yeah... I have a small gripe against of some changes in the game mechanics, interface, and so on, but I'll get used to after a few hours of gameplay. Long story short: great video, great game!
Thanks for sharing mate. Can't agree with your points more. Hope you enjoy your complete playthrough. Reuniting with your crew in ME3 feels even better 😁
@@lufromhades96 Little update: I'm about two thirds through ME2, and man it is quite a ride. I'm playing on Casual difficulty setting, as I did with ME1, but event at that, ME2 is giving me a run for my money. It keeps me on my toes, there's no effortlessly cruising through the game. But, contrary to my initial thoughts, I have to admit it is a step up from ME1 in more ways than one. I love character development and the loyalty missions. Because those kind of missions show what kind of leader Shepherd is. The boss fights are more intense, really put your skills to the test. I feel that I'm slowly becoming a better gamer and better at using a controller (in my youth I was strictly a keyboard/mouse PC gamer). I do regret that not all romance options available in ME1 can be continued in ME2, but it's a fun exercise waiting for my Shepherd to reunite with Ashley maybe in ME3. Anyway, I'm having a blast with ME2, can't wait to see how the story unfolds and ends in ME3. I read some stuff about the botched ending... but I guess I'll have to see it myself.
With a different ending to ME3 I would be playing through this trilogy yearly, I still do every so often but only ever finished it for trophies. The minute priority earth pops up I start getting a feeling of dread and desire to keep playing starts dropping. I LOVE this series and calling the ending a drop to a 6 or 7 when it's really a 4 and started off as a 2 before the DLC really downplays how bad the ending was fumbled.
I mean, there's little excuse at this point unless it's completely not your thing or not your genre. I've seen this collection sold for a single-digit price point in Steam sales. The value there is incredible.
still worth it you kidding one of the Best IP in gaming of course it is even after another 20 years especially on PC with mods but even on Consoles they did a good job with the remaster on PS4 and PS5 you can even use the save editor with Save Wizard but PC is where things really shine with all the Mods and quality of life improvements i have such a nice modded build exactly how i like it
i just finished the whole trilogy for the first time and now i dont know what to play because other games doesnt feel as good I'm happy that I gave it a chance because I didn't enjoyed gameplay of me1 but I liked the story
I've played the mass effects over 5 times each as a teen. But I only ever played 2 dlc. Dhadowbroker and leviathan dlc. So I gotta go thru the games 1 last time to experience everything, I never even met javik! How is a 13 year old supposed to buy DLC??
Yah mate, it’s almost criminal how BioWare was hiding such key story material behind DLC paywalls. The citadel DLC in ME3 is the best one, trust me on this. You’ll agree with me once you get to it 😬
I got it on steam for 12 dollars, having played them at launch on the 360 I never transferred my saves over. Man do the devs screw you over if you play 3 with no transferred save.
Please respond if you read this question, you said that the plot of mass effect wasn’t special. That it wasn’t a revolutionary or groundbreaking plot like other works but then later talked about how the trilogy has one of the best stories of all time. I have never played the games and am thinking about trying them can you explain this confusion of mine?
@hunterdillman3678 I'd be happy to answer this question sir. Plot is a sequence of events within a story. A story is a comprehensive narritive. Plot is a part of the story, but a story also includes settings, characters, themes etc. I'm literally paraphrasing something I saw on google when I was writing the script btw, as I reckon it provides the best explanation. I hope that makes things clear. My main point is that Mass Effect is greater than the sum of it's parts. When you look at the story as a whole, characters plot, characters, etc. thats when you see how special the series is. I'd highly recommend playing the trilogy. Also bear in mind its a slow burn, I reckon you will highly rate the series once you somewhat into ME2, and flat out love the series once you're in ME3. As individual games they are great, but there are better stand alone games, as a trilogy, it's nearly unbeatable in my mind.
I just bought LE last month on ps4 in the fall sale for $10 XD, I still have the ps3 M.E. trilogy plus 2 and 3 copys. I have played M.E. at least 10-20 times each game XD.
i did my first play trough recently (ps4 version) , this became one of my favorite games, i just got the ps3 trilogy so i can play the original. Andromeda was fine, not terrible but not great
Love the commitment. I don't think I could do it myself. Gotten to used to the improved visuals and frame rate in the legendary edition. That and I can't see myself firing up my ancient ps3 , it's basically a paper weight now😅.
Tried to download it on Steam and it's trying to force me to install Origin in order to play it. If I wanted Origin, I would install Origin without being prompted. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I just want to run it through Steam. Technically, I have this digital copy of the game so I believe I am fully within my rights to explore ways of accessing it without downloading crap I don't want like Origin.
@lufromhades96 i know , it's so frustrating isn't it.. but Fallout & last of us both are better than average versions of the games. I understand with tv and movies there is a challenge to get the game part filmed correctly. But look at Halo & borderlands... both destroyed any chance of them coming back to screen any time soon
I am not telling good or bad game here, but we can not play Mass Effect ( the 1st one most ) as its was originaly made ! The 1st game was changed ( gameplay ) and also missing 1 dlc. Its good to play it, as all games as well to know the diffence between then and just to have fun. I like every mass effect game, but I miss the 1st and most original one, the gameplay in the 1st game its unique and fun, but its not so easy to play all dlc anymore by normal means if I am not wrong !
I played the original trilogy on PS3. I agree with you that there were changes, but for the most part the legendary edition provides the same core experience, brought to the modern day. The only part I somewhat miss in the multiplayer, which was pretty fun back in the day.
Playing with one character through the entire trilogy is a experience every gamer needs to have.
Agreed.
That and having a whole series being completed within one console life cycle.
It's crazy to think we had 3 Mass Effect games on the PS3 and XBOX 360.
@@lufromhades96because of that we had Me3 be rushed and you can make arguments the first 2 games were also rushed
I completely agree
@@robertdoyle2586 AS a PC gamer I never considered any release in this franchise rushed.
I have never been more emotionally invested in a game, show, movie, or book than I was with Mass Effect.

@@lufromhades96 great video my friend and you’ve earned a new sub. Mass Effect is one my favorite stories of all time.

Bro, I got the legendary edition for £4.99 in the steam sale. I couldn't agree more. But it's also run by EA and the launcher is poop on my steam deck 😭😭😭
@@Pidgen56 I feel you mate.
The EA launcher is such a pain.
Haven't really looked into it, but there's gotta be a way to bypass it.

I was thinking the exact same thing. really well produced video! @lufromhades96 another new sub here :)
I played this series for the first time this year and finished it a few months ago. I keep thinking about it.
I think they hit on an amazing formula. 1. Deep world building 2. Meaningful choices. 3. Character development 4. Relationship building. 5. Engaging story. If any game series did this, it too would have a shot of "best game/series of all time."
Writers.... start your engines....
Mass Effect is one of a kind in my books.
There are many games with phenomenal stories,
but Mass Effect still stands as the best.
I've never played a game where I genuinely cared for so many characters.
I mean name a better bromance than Shepard and Garrus.
Production quality lowkey crazy nice job bro
Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
Put alot of work in this one.
Only real disappointment is that I feel I could have done better on the audio quality.
That's for the next video though.
"I might do more than just catch you kelly!"
Bravo sir, Bravo.
Truer words have never been spoken.
And thank you for the support, means alot.
I think what really sets this trilogy apart is that the characters become real to you. There are many games with excellent characters but I have never played another game where I genuinely think of the characters as my friends. It feels strange saying this in a way but its the truth and these characters live with you long after the credits roll.
My dude, you are so right.
I've never seen a game where I grew so attached to so many characters,
usually it's like one or two per game at best.
Click video, hear music, instant nostalgia.
Gonna start a play through next week I think, thanks for the video dude.
Glad to hear it mate.
Honestly whenever I hear those tunes I just get the feels 🥲
Did u finish it? And if u did what did u think?
@@Casual.YT.Enjoyer I always finish my Mass Effect playthroughs :D I really enjoyed replaying, ME1's updates are really nice though the gunplay improvements do outstrip the biotics a bit so combat kind of defaults to guns for me. The graphics being brought up to match was also really nice, and everything being polished etc meant that I had zero bugs. All in all, I hada great playthrough :)
I will never love a franchise as much as this one.
Same. No knock on current games, but I can't see any game coming close to this.
Try the Yakuza series
Just started the legendary trilogy 3 weeks ago. Never played before, havent played a game this good in awhile.
Which game are you on?
If still on ME2, here's a pro tip to help minimize crew deaths.
Only collect the reaper IFF once you have done like all of the availible loyalty missions at that time.
You will thank me later
😁
I am jealous.
Imagine playing it for the 1st time again...
What a absolute spoiler of a comment. Just lost a sub. Let the player experience it blind. Can't believe you did that man , what a clown
Awesome! Don't rush things. Take your time to do side quests. There comes a point of no return and if you haven't done everything you had to do, you will regret it.
Did u finish them? And if so, what did u think of the trilogy?
I started mass effect legendary edition recently, never been able to get into rpg's. Ive gotten to ME2 and reunited with Garrus and rescued Jack. Really enjoying the writing and the gameplay feels pretty good too. Glad I discovered this.
Glad you found it to.
More people need to play it.
Quick warning though, please!!!!!! don't collect the reaper IFF until you have completed all other availible side missions (arrival DLC excluded).
You will thank me later.
My FemShep & Garrus are BFF. 💯
Classic is a Mass-ive understatement. It's definitely Legendary.
This version of ME1, with all the fixes and improvements, is easily my favorite of the trilogy now.
It's so much more of an RPG than the others, every single character is compelling, the dialogue is just as good as the others, and the pacing of it all is perfect.
Not just the greatest trilogy but the best Sci-Fi made of any media, its that good.
I back this.
Couldn't agree with you more friend.
Almost 2 weeks in and already above 75hrs. The best and probably the only game of its kind. Loving it!
Amen brother, amen
I got Legendary Edition at launch & I just passed 800 hours lol. Easily the most I’ve ever had on a game
Aside from giving ME1 the short end of the stick, I fully agree.
I'll grant that I'm perhaps a little too harsh on ME1.
I think it's cause the experience feels the most dated.
Still highly recommend it to those aiming to get the full experience.
brings tears to my eyes.
Bringing in the soundtrack 2/3s the way in? Chef's kiss.
Thanks for the appreciation.
Glad the effect I was going for was acheived.
I like the original MP but I’m still kinda glad it’s not in LE cause they wouldn’t have fixed the war assets if it was included

Lost count of how many times I played through this great trilogy, first on ps3 and then with legendary edition on ps4, just because of how awesome it is.
Since I couldn't access some extra content back on ps3, I was even more happy after getting Legendary Edition because it has everything I missed back then.
Just played through it for the first time about a month ago. Amazing. Can’t believe it took me til now to play it.

The dialogue and characters are wonderful at times and it is absolutely epic. Beautiful, but not perfect. And arguably more charming for it's flaws
Except the first game- which had some interesting changes…… but i definitely agree with you for the most part
"If you know, you know." Yes, I know. ❤
Glad I'm not alone 💖
Out of curiosity, what did you prefer more, sniper shots with Garrus in the citadel,
or the farwell chat?
For me it's the farewell chat, I always cry when I see it
@@lufromhades96 Shepard's farewell in London, "may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead" hits different after broshep's story with Garrus. Their last piece of dialog is the reason i always bring him to the beam

Mass Effect is so so special. Amazing storytelling. Truly a work of art. I will always hold it close to my heart.
You are not alone.
Saw a comment earlier,

Legendary edition was really amazing. At the end of ME3 i teared up for saying goodbye to my comrads.
I'm currently stating a playthrough, but Man now i remember why i had issues with ME1
Story, charwdevelopment and execution. The perfect formula the ME trilogy managed to convey which makes the trilogy the GOAT
Truer words have never been spoken
0:44 That statement there is why I feel people are unfair to Andromeda, as it's a decent game, it's just not on par with an ENTIRE EPIC TRIOLOGY, it can't even compare.
Great take.
Andromeda is like a 7 /10.
I thought the gameplay was great and they created an interesting enough world where I wanted to learn.
My main criticism, is that the characters at times felt weak and the fact that all aliens looked the same really rubbed the wrong way, ngl.
Actually planning on doing a replay for a video one of these days.
Will go more in depth then.
@@lufromhades96 Looking forward to it, should be a fun video.

Yes. The answer is Yes. If I could reply anyone game again for the first time it would be this series.
I co-sign this comment
If you played them at release, this trilogy was something really special

Never heard or played cant wait.
I got to play this trilogy blind and man it was good
Virmire was peak
I've been trying to tell this to as many people as I can since the Legendary Edition was first announced!
Keep spreading the gospel.
I'll be doing the same.
My colleague is actually going to give the game a try thanks to this video I think 😂
Started my second playthrough of it last weekend.
I'd love to do the same, but I need to finish Elden Ring 😤, then beat the dragon age trilogy to prep for veilguard. This is all for content of course, and cause I love these games.
Also, the music in this game is amazing. It's simply perfect. I hope they will hire the same people for ME5.

Agreed.
I think it kinda helps with the world building,
as things are explained cause humanity is still a new player on the scene.
One of the few games I 100% Platinum scored on the PS5 and it was totally worth it.
Props to you sir, you have earned my respect and thanks 🙏
I've seen the consequences from videos on UA-cam.
This should be done again, you would think it would be easier to do given where we are technology wise.
Ok I’ll try it😭 honestly after witnessing the release of Andromeda, I just completely ignored the entire franchise. Mistake on my part fs, it’s like the GOW Ascension of the franchise… you just don’t talk about it💀
I’m glad you started uploading again tho🔥 I wish you all the best with the Channel💪
PLEASE.
@@lufromhades96Haha yeah my bad on that😭
I think Andromeda isn't a bad game.
@@carpandrei7493 Thanks for the update mate. ME3 is going to be an emotional rollercoaster of note, 99% for the right reasons.
Couldn't agree with you more my friend
still worth it you kidding one of the Best IP in gaming of course it is even after another 20 years especially on PC with mods but even on Consoles they did a good job with the remaster on PS4 and PS5 you can even use the save editor with Save Wizard but PC is where things really shine with all the Mods and quality of life improvements i have such a nice modded build exactly how i like it
i just finished the whole trilogy for the first time and now i dont know what to play because other games doesnt feel as good I'm happy that I gave it a chance because I didn't enjoyed gameplay of me1 but I liked the story
Have you tried dragon age origins?
Man do the devs screw you over if you play 3 with no transferred save.
when are they going to make the movie
Out here asking the real questions?
You are not alone.
I've beaten every mass effect game at least 5 times I reckon.
I've beaten 2 over 10 times, and I think the same is true for 3.
@@lufromhades96 lol nice plus a couple of M.E.A
@@travishipp4972 Beat Andromeda only 3 times, but I'm planning on doing another play through over the holidays and give my thoughts on it.
@@lufromhades96 I like MEA, its fun.
i did my first play trough recently (ps4 version) , this became one of my favorite games, i just got the ps3 trilogy so i can play the original. Andromeda was fine, not terrible but not great
Love the commitment.
I don't think I could do it myself.
Gotten to used to the improved visuals and frame rate in the legendary edition.
That and I can't see myself firing up my ancient ps3 , it's basically a paper weight now😅.
If you have the PC version be sure to get mods
Tried to download it on Steam and it's trying to force me to install Origin in order to play it. If I wanted Origin, I would install Origin without being prompted. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I just want to run it through Steam. Technically, I have this digital copy of the game so I believe I am fully within my rights to explore ways of accessing it without downloading crap I don't want like Origin.
I got no work around for you friend.
I just ended up using origin unfortunately.
God i hope i'm alive when they bring out Mass Effect to the big screen. Just hope they keep it to the lore and not woke it up
You rate it'll be done justice?
I've been disapoointed with 90% of game adaptions ngl.
I pitty all those who slept on Mass Effect and I envy all who play it for the first time.
Okay fine I’ll play it again, renegade Shep with multiple partners 😈
That’s evil 😭
0:35 I'd say Mass Effect 2 deserves to be in the GOAT debate
As a stand alone game, ME2 was special.
Goat status though...
I could see it.
What are the other games you'd put next to it?
@@lufromhades96 Batman Arkham City, Star Wars KotOR, Resident Evil 4, and Mario 64 just to name a few just off the top of my head
@@the_spaartan5372 You are a man of great taste sir. You will hear no argument from me.
