literally crying listening to her talk about the community. her and her daughter are really lucky to be able to live this kind of lifestyle. im very jealous.
I think it’s very american to have that individualistic mindset and independence. I’m Puerto Rican grew up in the U.S . I grew up in a Spanish speaking community where everyone in my building worked together. They were all over 70 with the energy of kids in their 20s. I remember our neighbors bringing coffee and Dominican avena (oatmeal). We had a community tailor name don Miguel who use to tell the best stories about his country. There was a second hand store we helped with across the street and some times they’ll let us pick out toys or clothes that we liked. I absolutely loved it . I’m 32 now and I have an immense respect and appreciation for the simpler life.
As someone who lives in the pnw, it’s nice to know that I can build a cob house without it going horribly wrong 😅 I’ve always thought they where more of an desert house
It made from soil and water, so you can build it anywhere. Only thing youd have to worry about is if it rains a lot in your area, then youd just have to take extra care to the non cob foundation and roof
I’m in an argument with some folks in Montana who are complaining about how expensive it is to build a house, and there are no options. It amazes me that people are so close minded about alternative building techniques. This house is my dream house! Great job! ❤️
I'm in Montana and I will definitely be using this method to build in the future. I own a house in a valley just west of the Divide. It's fairly flat and I don't have a lot of land. I'm waiting to find a nice piece of land in close proximity to the forest so I can integrate the house with the surrounding area. I just can't justify building on my current lot in view of neighbors (and the county).
From what Ive seen they use the some variation of water/ solar powered energy. Many farmers use hydro powered generators (they just hook em up to a near by stream). It’s pretty interesting and there are lots of in depth vids on yt!
Still a beautiful home for what today would be $50k. We visited my teachers commune in the 80s in the reading pa area. The center of the commune had this wonderful wood heated wood hot tub. My class loved it.
This lady is sooo cool, extremely smart, strong inside & out and funny! She's a beautiful soul. I wish there were more places like this. I would definitely fit into a place like that. Crazy to think there's people that spend $90,000 just to buy and build a vanhome. While here she's livin the dream. ✌🤘
I like her, you have made a right choice, nothing is better than living peaceful and healthy. The creator of this world is proud of you. I'm from Belize.
The marriage between Unions, States, big corporations, and the Govermnet is not capitalism its fascism. Free market capitalism is not to blame for what the United States is today. Amazing house very cool video.
I resonate so much with her ideals. Very inspirational. I love knowing that she made it possible with the help and hardwork of her community, very little cash but a lot of ingenuity and good to Mama Earth. Very wise investment.
Your home is an impressive build, obviously quite organic of course, & economic certainly but certainly functional, It’s a home that you can be proud of your life there. I love that you have built a successful co-operative community, which quite a while ago in my High School & College years my life revolved around a few Co-Ops but we lived through the 60’s & 70’s, they all wore sort of. I will say getting those 85 acres to build your community on, was a brilliant choice. Anyway, congrats!
this person is the person ive needed to see lol. hearing her experiences and having her ideals be along the same lines as mine gives me opportunities for knowing my options
I love this all so much Beautiful home Deliberate simple life Thank you for the inspiration And for your life philosophy at the end. Namaste from Pittsburgh 🙏 ✌🏼❤️🌏
This place & woman seem like a BEAUTIFUL Mystical Magical Utopia ❣ Oh how I wish I would've heard of this place a decade ago... How DIFFERENT my Children's lives would be ! 👏✌🙏 👍🌱📹
i am really happy to hear someone really talk about how they didnt grow up wealthy or have good credit etc, cause while this method of living is more affordable in the end its harder for poorer people to drop everything to use it. it gives me a lot of hope for one day being able to do stuff
feel bad that it still involves money, it just lost the essense of natural building, but, all in all, looks great and innovative! cheers to the builders!
I love this! I admire her & her house is so cute! I keep dreaming of building a cob house but I don’t have friends or a spouse, so it feels a little out of the realm of possibilities… but one can still hope & dream!
Pleased to see how things are still happening on Denman. I was with you guys for a day or so 16 years ago, with my son, who's now studying to be a doctor. We love the West Coast; unfortunately for me, most of my life didn't unfold there. Hugs and love and good vibes to y'all.
This makes me wanna be 18 already so badly at the moment. My dream is to just live in the woods, build a cob house from scratch, possibly in a commune, as a witch with a girlfriend and some frogs, and not too far from the city so I can go to big parties, clubs, and libraries, but also a place to retreat back to nature and know that my life and dreams are all self made and sustainable, and overall eco friendly. An electric rv would be pretty lit too so I can travel everywhere. Lmao I'm so pissing off my parents, I can't wait! Y'all to everyone living this life, best of luck!! Don't give up on making it you're way!!!
This is My ultimate dream ..living with a community of like minded people that are self sustainable and living life ..if any one out there know of any one i can contact please leave it with me .. This is living and every human being deserve the experience of just that ..thanks for sharing your video
I needed to see this video today! I'm starting my own journey into this type of living and as a woman of 57 this will be no easy task. How do I connect with this amazing woman?

Get help, crying for nothing is not normal.
You can do it too! I can send you some resources if you'd like ^-^
I love these types of videos with genuine people, not some bored yuppie with $100k in pocket change for a tiny home.
@Kandice Trickett sending you so much love and support! Your boys are so lucky to have a wonderfully powerful mamma like you!
Best comment I've seen under one of these videos!! I feel 100% the same as you on the subject. TC :))
Amen.

I love how she can't stop touching her walls. So much love and connection to her home. I'm looking forward to this for myself and my children. 💖

She's so lovely and down to earth, I'm so happy she got the life she wanted 💕
What a beautiful thing to have a community that is connected. I'm so happy that she's living the way she desires. Love this way of living!

Really liked her, great spirit, lovely hair. Very natural, open person. Interesting to hear.
I really want to know how the water, plumbing, heating, and electric work in these homes. I don't see that discussed a lot
yes, agree

Same here I want to buy land and have a village of these!! At least two other families
Can't beat that for $9k (+/-). Many throw more than that away renting in a year.
Yeppppppp.
The most she pays for now is that 300 a month, utilities, and maintenance on a home she loves
Im peanut butter and jelly as heck lol
Actually per her its $50k now.
Still a beautiful home for what today would be $50k. We visited my teachers commune in the 80s in the reading pa area. The center of the commune had this wonderful wood heated wood hot tub. My class loved it.

My warrior cousin, in her beautiful home - built with love and purpose - the way she lived her life! ❤️
If this is your cuz then you have a cool cuz who lives the way we was supposed to live life. Congrats on awesome family much ❤ and respect
Just keep repeating "and it's paid for" WHOO-YA
Hopefully that will be me someday, I feel her lol 😂
In a world of people living in debts I can imagine how proud she feels, she got a cozy house and no debts.

This was such a profoundly inspiring video. Thank you. It's really comforting to know such 'alternative' opportunities exist.
