"Buy this game or I'll become homeless" is basically a parody of Square's 'Final Fantasy' if you think about it. They sold meh game after meh game and they were going to go under so they made a game that referenced their impending doom as 'Final Fantasy' and it ended up becoming a hit.
Huh, this simulator is more realistic than we realise.
You'll be surprised how many of them were like that. And it was the timing as others felt that way.
I dont know if it is true but i heard that the real reason was that they wanted to name it final figth but the name was already trademarked so they chose final fantasy

In all seriousness though I think it comes from an excellent genre, platform, target audience, and game type as well as perfect focus on each stage of the game’s creation. I got it once on accident and the achievement to match, “Turn it up to 11”.

This is basically how Final Fantasy was born. A failing company survived thanks to their last fucking game.
Dead Or Alive is called that way because the game needed to be a success otherwise the studio had to close down.
Actually though, didn't this myth already debunked by the creator of Final Fantasy himself? The company was indeed in a dire situation at that time, but the creator never meant to imply that this game is their last hope. The creator just wanted its abbreviation to be "FF", which sounds cool, then Final Fantasy just so happens to be chosen as the full name of "FF".
So Final Fantasy isn't called that way because it is their last hope or anything.

Another reason was, however, that the creator would stop developing games and go back to university if the game flopped. So, yes, it had nothing to do with the company closing down, but rather because he would have quit making games.

Well, what did you expect when the gameplay was sitting in a bush for 20 minutes and you can sometimes win?
The funny thing is about this game, while I'm in garage, I score near perfect scores and even were 10 times in a row all of 10 scores. As soon as I leave the garage - bam, from worse to mediocre scores. In conclusion, in the last playthrough, I simply never went away from my garage, researched everything that I could in the garage and made about 500M.
