Thanks again for continuing on with these build videos brother. I keep on thinking what you could really do if you had all the proper machines, but you always blow my mind doing what you do with the bare minimum! Is there any way you can do a video really showing us the Mustang and its current engine and why you are doing what you are doing to it? Keep on going Jess! Cheers, Joe
Ah, we're getting spoiled with two videos a week for awhile again. How magical. I do greatly wonder what the finished product will be like. I have to say tho, bithead really does mean it when he said in the past that now he has the approach that he can do anything he sets his mind to. If someone told me to do this project I would tell them "no chance in hell". I would never even dream of starting. But here he is, making a full on Engine from Scratch.
What’s that you say? Just another car video from our friendly neighbourhood Bithead, and on a frigging Wednesday evening… just in time to break up the shitty monotony of our pitiful existence… I’M IN!
This is why we love the BitHead1000 show. Hardly anyone these days has the absolute gumption (and skillset) to up and say "I'm building an engine from scratch" and from raw materials no less. Same with the clear consoles of yore, the jean jackets, the rube goldberg machines... Incredible, incredible work over there man!
Little flux on your rod to keep your crank going...still doesn't sound dirty enough. This is so much work. I'm glad I can watch as I put some billet internals in my son's harbor freight engine.
I don’t often multi message but it’s pretty obvious to me you sound like the old bithead , happy enthusiastic and freaking awesome, I’m loving these videos and it seems you are to 🍺🍺
I swear your shed is a Tardis the way you manage to store all your gear and film a show in it. Looking forward to a future series where you build a shed extension to house your milling machine.
I had to dig through some stuff, but I found the steam engine I made my senior year in high-school and showed the kids how it worked! Memories. Can't wait to see this thing running!
Hi BitHead , I am a Machinist by trade. Just a bit of advice, you can put a milling cutter or drill in your lathe chuck and make a fixture for your tool post or cross slide to hold your piece so you can make straight cuts and drill straight holes. Keep up the great work and great content. Respect!
I have that same junk press vise. It also didn't come with jaws, so I made some new ones out of aluminum, and put reliefs in them to hold stock upright.
Haha you've got to be half out of your mind to do things this way but it's hilarious and entertaining! I have to admit I cringed a bit at the plumber's solder (tin/silver?) babbit bearing. It seems a little too soft but hey maybe it won't be a problem. Really interesting work, man. Hope it works!
Watching this makes me want to go out and make a home made crossbow just for the hell of it. The crankshaft reminds me a little of a crossbow trigger mechanism where the string sits and arrow slides through.
About the most Bob Vila I ever got was opening up and greasing a N64 analog stick, I can't imagine building a engine from scratch. Those Coors Banquet look mighty tasting, and you're right, an extremely underrated beer.
You weren't crazy :) the piece you were bolting together was flipped around so the section you cut was facing out instead if in toward the other piece it was cut from. (you can see it in the vid at 12:09 the inside section is shiny, not the cut side, and then later 13:16 you can see the other side with the saw marks so you hadnt cleaned it yet for the other side to be shiny). Loving the new project keep it up!
they say the quality of work of any workers is directly correlated with his nicotine and caffeine consumption…. read into this what you will and keep up the good work
What is this nasally long gisland voice we are hearing in this video? What a great video and the dog harassing him in the background is hilarious. Throw some threadlock on the nuts or go balls to the wall and secure them with JB weld.
I have no idea what you're doing. I do know that engines run hotter than the melting point of solder. I don't know if that's a problem because... I have no idea what you're doing.
prob you have heard this a million times... have you tried a flux core welding wore for the mig welder? you won't need shielding gas with that. not a ton of penetrating power. from your previous builds it looks like your arc welder was set really high. marine and civil engineer. have played with a lot of tools. if ya need any help just hit me up guy. love the videos. greetings from newfoundland. disregard if this is me being a dick. just wanted to see if i can help :) ❤❤
I have a flux core, mig welder. It’s fine but it showers me with spatter. The stick welder welds way stronger and cleaner. The welds are ugly but super strong.
I have never had more pleasure on any other UA-cam channel than I do on yours.
I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m here for it.😂

Thanks brother!!!

Today has been one shit day. Only good news is that BitHead uploaded.
Hell yeah! Part two was just as fun to watch as the first. The dog and I guess your wife in the background made it funny. Lol
Funny for you….

Just changed both cars oil before lunch yesterday.
Was washing my hands in the sink and saw the clock said 11:59.
I had to look up what a Babbit Bearing was... your knowledge is enviable !

Love the series so far! It's coming along nicely!
Jesse, you are one clever mf. I could watch this kind of stuff all day long.

Some good work, enjoying this.
COORS BANQUET IS THE BEST! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Another amazing video! My favorite channel of all time
As someone who knows next to nothing engines or cars, this is fascinating. You’re teaching me.
I'm very interested to see how this turns out at a thousand rpms. Great job on this so far, especially with the tools you have. Keep up the good work.
You are amazing

Thats a cool trick with the solder man. I sweat copper all day and never seen that before

That's a beautiful fkn Rod! 😂
That bolt hole looks perfect to me. what you talking about :)
I love that you reused the nylon lock nuts rather than wasting new ones. 😂
I'm ashamed to say I have only a very limited knowledge of how internal combustion engines work, but Jessie's fixing that!
Are you going to put it in a gokart for your boy?
Not big enough. I’m gonna make it work though.
