More more more. From the USA and I'm kinda glad we dont have the Wels here. I think they would be too destructive to our native Channel, Blue and Flathead cats that can be amazing sizes. Love your vids and am learning from them. I basically fish C and R common carp and cats. I have been learning the basic hair rig this year and have had the best year of fishing in my life. No Great sizes but my officially big carp was 30 inches at 12.5 pounds common. I have also landed 2 mirrors and a Fantail. Never even knew fantails existed until this season. Keep up the videos. Jamie from Ohio, USA
@@TAFishing Thanks, It is getting really crazy over hear, scary crazy. I just hope to survive this by fishing and I'm having fun doing it. I'm kinda a solitary person any how so fishing has always fit me. I know your on in your years as I am, and I don't tolerate colder temps any more, back injury, my back and legs spasm up when the get cold, how about a vid on staying nice and warm at 0 or +0 C . Maybe you have done one and I haven't seen it. I would like to try some cold weather carp fishing this Fall / Winter ... Thanks .. Jamie
Thank you for all your work its always amazing I hope all the viewers realize how much work it takes to post a vid keep on keeping on . Thanks to your chanel and ta outdoors for great content love you and Mike keeps us sane and u know some of us ned it lol
I like the uncomplicated style with which you share your knowledge and experience the best videos are the shorter ones (20 - 30 minutes) the longer ones I can only watch in instalments.
Here in Texas we eat em' we use a corn meal and flour mix and fry fillets with chips. Though, my preference is catch and release. Our biggest was the size of a motorcycle in a big sized lake. We have the catfish hunter story that there is one as big a small Volkswagen Bettle but I've never seen it.
Great seeing you both together, i must say tho that's one fish I've not had before but after seeing this video I'm going to give it a go thanks to you guy's
Hi Graeme.Sorry for confusion but I was referring to another video! I'd never dream of launching into that catfish lake!! I was attempting to request an estimated boat speed of double skinned GRP 15' with a shallow "V" , and very little draught, plus a cuddy, running a brand new Mariner 5hp 4 stroke. I can just about lift the stern off the trailer. Respect your advice and intuition on this. Not launched yet but looking forward to employing some of your methods Sir. If you already got this question, apologies, but the first draft disappeared from my screen mysteriously ! : ) I like the rock music as an introduction, but not during the fishing. Used to wreck fish mid channel on a big charter boats and the "plonker" in charge insisted on bringing his radio and subjecting us all to pop all day long !! Thanks for your top notch content . RESPECT. Jon.
Would have thought 6/8 knots might do it,I have no idea as I don't know the boat but the manufacturer could maybe provide some engine/speed stats for you. Or try online.
We fished together last Tuesday on a self drive boat off the South Devon coast..check out the catch and cook on our sister channel T.A. Outdoors. Film just up.
I caught one of those in France in a river, about the size of your first. I’m no great angler, I was fishing for roach and perch on a tiny hook, worm for bait. It did not fight at all. Just let me reel it in and net it out. It was at least 5 pounds. Surprised the doo dars out of me.
well done graeme, some cracking cats for you both, i've had catfish take baits when floater fishing, i've never landed any of mine though, the mono hooklink always gets worn down by those sandpaper-like pads and breaks👍
Great video (as always) had Catfish in a restaurant in Norfolk, Not recommended no real flavour and all I remember about it was how sick I was the next day. Still nice to watch father and son team together.
That black fish was cool...the more one fishes for em the more one appreciates the subtle colour variations....river Thames London lurkers holds my interest presently
My favorite recipe for cooking catfish is roasting it over an open camp fire with no seasoning but you have to use oak wood. At home I use a batter mixture of cornmeal or crushed cornflakes in pancake mix and a little salt and pepper, Italian herb seasoning and beer then fry it. You can use the left over batter and make silver dollar sized biscuits that you fry using the same oil and pan as the fish.
Wow.mike got me hooked on perch fishing .an now seeing that I'm gona need a bigger rod but im looking for somewhere near me to try catfish thanks Graham great footage
Loved the vid and after watching Graham cook luncheon meat, carp pellets and lard the other week, I tried it and bagged myself a few big bream and carp - happy days😊
Catfish are one of my favorite fish to catch, partly because of their opportunistic behavior. I've caught them on dough balls, jigs, worms, live minnows, even Rapala top water lures. (On the other hand, when you are after small panfish on ultra light gear, hooking a 60cm catfish can be a proper bugger.) Cheers, Graeme!
Those fish, are eating maggots too, like if you put 16-20 on a hook. I had them on the hot dog (smokey one), works like a charm. Where i am, they are about 2.80-2.90 meters, so i did bought a new rod and reel (80-300 grams and 8000 size 15kg break reel).
Wow what a session you guys had, never been to keen on cats to be honest, ive only caught one before but maybe i should have another go at them, take care guys.
Great videos guys, you inspire me to start targeting those big boys! Do you have any suggestion for a entry level rod and reel? I was thinking about the NGT dynamic catfish rod paired with the Okuma custom black reel
Can't help on tackle I am afraid . I have no idea on the latest and greatest,I just use secondhand outfits which are a fraction of the price and seem to do the job. I guess your local tackle shop might give you some advice .
Ahh Graemes Raptor Oil. We have all been wanting a how to make it video for years ..... don't hold your breath ruguitarr buddy. Greame keeps that recipe to himself...LOL
I had the same problem mate, change the way you used to fish just do short sessions. Once you start your be surprised how often you can get out! I bass fish now & go mornings before work or on way home in evenings couple of hours here & there 👍🏻
Here is the states I have caught catfish like that and I have also caught them casting artificial lures while game fishing. Which is even more surprising to me. Not stocked ponds but local lakes.
I have a video request and id love you to consider it as I'm new to angling and I'm confused Would you do a video of the numbers that are on fishing reels and also what each number is best for so example making this up 3500 for feeder fishing on a quiver tip rod I'm sure alot of new anglers would love this
Nice one Graeme! Have you heard of the proposed Govt backed Highly Protected Marine Areas (HPMAs) which could include Chesil Beach where recreational Angling would be banned in future? A petition may be needed!
I think there are lots of places being planned as MCZ's...fishermen have always been on the wrong end of the pecking order. I wonder who makes up all these zones ? Probably someone behind a desk who never goes fishing.
Not a catfish question but a carp question. When cage feeder fishing, how long do you leave a feeder in before refilling and casting? Thanks Graeme! You and Mike are the best!!
Can we see some canal action again please? :) I fish the Liverpool & Leeds canal in Wigan. Free sessions with good results on the right day! Appreciate all your dedication and effort 👍👏💪 legend :)
Saw this on Friday and reminded me I ought to take my lad fishing. Got to the lake this afternoon, unpacked the car and on the walk to the swim he literally crapped his pants. Had to turn around and head home. To be fair he is only 5, but I'm not sure his car seat will ever be the same again.
you remind me of my late grandad who sadly passed while teaching me to fish so i turned to you for advice i love both your show and mikes it would be a great honour to meet you both 1 day also can you tell me when you use a bobbin does it automatically release when you strike or will it stay connected to the bite alarm thanks ( Craig )
What test curve rods were you guys using, they seem a bit on the carpy side to be using for decent size cats. I only say that because drawn out fights can cause harmful levels of lactic acid build up in them. Wouldn't want to give people the idea using carp gear for cats is good fishcare. Great content as always, that's my only niggle :)
Watching your dad has made me a far more confident fisherman!! He makes it look easy but he shows you why! Brilliant teacher 👌
I feel the same 👍
Me too, Graham is a ledge and we all have to help him now.
"SMITH" get him more subbies, "SMITH, where are you!!!
SMITHHHHHHH GET THE KETTEL
ONNNNNNN
That is literally it. So true!!
Graeme is by far my favourite angler ! proper old school make do and mend ,and pulls out some beauty's!
I Love it when the old team get together! Congrats on the PB!

Great film Graham's I've never fished Finch farm yet I'm now going next week keep em coming.
Inspires me to take my son fishing one day! 10 months old and no doubt will show dad how to do it one day!
Great, as always Graeme!! Thanks

Bless you for your videos. You are great. I hope you never stop.
Great video its always good to see you both together cracking fish well done
It was a brilliant video lads, you 2 are fantastic and I would love to go fishing with you two guys. Dave.
Graham, that is a CRACKING jumper you have on!! Unbelievable Jeff!
I think it belonged to Val Doonican.

Apologies been auto corrected should read codger, the it when a machine thinks it knows better!
I hadn't seen that one guys, what a good one it was too. Great to see you two together. My best fishing buddy is my son too.
That's why we put it up on our TA Fishing channel,so many people had mentioned they had never seen it.
Nice to see father and son back together on the bank. Nice video guys.

I wish my father was still alive. He'd love some of the venues I've found.

At the start of the video you say the weather is bad 🤣 perfect weather for catfish
My mother in laws mouth is twice the size of that
Awesome fishing guys

Is that a recipe for Channel Catfish or Blue Catfish,or is it for either.
Flathead and channel cat but it goes good with any catfish. But blue cat is best grilled or roasted.
Excellent, great fun.
Hi great videos but do you recommend any fishing equipment for a beginner.
Would like more catfish and pike fishing from you guys :D
great video graham what lake were you on in the fishery ? it looks like your on a double swim which im looking for as i fish with my son
Wow.mike got me hooked on perch fishing .an now seeing that I'm gona need a bigger rod but im looking for somewhere near me to try catfish thanks Graham great footage
Both places are just regular day ticket waters, not some secret squirrel spot . Anyone can fish them.
Great video, I'm sure you definitely reach 250k 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
what breaking string line are you using?
Usually about 20lbs black mono. No idea on diameters I haven't a clue. ,though I also use 15lb for Cats on other fisheries.
Loved the vid and after watching Graham cook luncheon meat, carp pellets and lard the other week, I tried it and bagged myself a few big bream and carp - happy days😊

Plz come to the river Witham around Lincoln, stamp end loach has big bream
Try fishing for wild brown trout on a river I’d love to see it
What rods you using
Can we not crowdfund a new wireless microphone for Graeme? He spends more time faffing with his current one than he does in the edit suite.
I think it adds something to the videos, but if over people are in, so am I!

Do you pour water on them when you get them out? looks like the catfish was getting dry near the head xD
