07:11 jL's social media personality and how it impacts his game as well as how AleksiB handled so much online criticism and question marks around his IGL style.
11:37 W0nderful having to replace S1mple and having S1mple watching him in the arena.
16:05 Is B1ad3 one of the best coaches of all time and how does his style work with a performance coach?
21:23 Insight into the conversation that happened amongst the team between Map 2 and Map 3 of the PGL Copenhagen Major final between FaZe and NAVI.
26:51 Was NAVI winning the Major a fluke?

Great content, Aleksi is first Finn ever to win CS major. Aleksi's victory will spark lot of enthusiasm here in Finland. Maybe in the future more Finnish CS Major winners, maybe even all Finnish team at the top.

Loved the video!! I feel like to get more engagement and people to this insights there needs to be something in title that indicates that Navi performance coach was interviewed. I only knew because of some clips I saw on twitter otherwise I wouldn't have found this video. Keep up the good content, we love it

Yeah I am still learning the keywords, algorithm stuff so definitely need to improve that. Valid point so I'll make an edit and keep that in mind for the future.

Very good idea to have Ursula as a guest and bring different perspective to the conversation. Your interview stuck a nice balance between your own points and letting the guest talk.
I kind of hate that after the win pretty fast the word "fluke" showed up in cs related shows. To win the biggest trophy in the game and instead of studying why it happened and how the underdogs did it it went to "its a fluke". Greece won the soccer European Championships no one used the world fluke but a great underdog story and people praised the coach and the team for doing it against all odds without big stars. Same with New York Giants making Superbowl in 2007 and beating the Patriots who had a perfect record and everyone was sure they would win. That game had crazy moments that would not be repetable ever but Giants won it and its discussed as one of the best games in Superbowl history.
Now we move to CS where Navi by no means was as big of an underdog as the teams I mentioned in other Sports. Navi has showed they are competitive with all the others teams they have beaten them before in different situations and the players before had beaten the players the faced in other lineups.
The Argument that Navi can not repeat this in Shanghai so its a fluke is a really flawed one. During all of CS GO only back to back major winner is Astralis they won 2, 3 and 4 in a row. Outside of that no one won the next major so are most major wins flukes? Definetly not. Its a game of small margins and what makes the major great is you cant have a bad game in the playoffs or your out.
Navi showed they can win maps against Spirit and now they beat Faze in the final who is pretty much considered the "final boss" in finals games.
This Navi team has something special in them because this lineup has had a lot of comebacks in the last 5 months. They fall behind and you fell they already lost the game but then they start to win rounds when they already felt defeated. I think it shows that for some reason this 5 man team is mentally really resilient and credit goes to the team, Blade and Ursula for that.
Hope this channel grows and you keep producing great content. If its possible would be great to have Mia who Ursula mentioned be a guest on the show. How did Astralis win 3 majors back to back during their peak and what made that team special from a performance coach perspective?

The argument is not back to back majors, but consistently winning events or even having high chances of winning them, even if you don't, e.g. FaZe Clan 2024.

Good interview. This is very insightful into the psychological atmosphere. All CS teams and individuals looking to go pro should really study these tjing spoken here.
Also there is lot of work done outside of the players. People booking hotels, plain tickets, taxi's or rental cars, finding good nurishing food, dry cleaners, and clean clothes, waters and snacks from a country players are not familiar with. Even the smallest miss steps can break a good atmosphere.

100% there is far more to the success of the team than just what happens in the server!

for me, it depends entirely on JL. is he going to continue being a top 5 rifler or was it a once off like kjaerbye? wonderful is going to continue to be a monexy/zywoo/shiro type of star and alexi is probably the best igl there is in my opinion.

I agree on AleksiB being one of the best IGLs. I think W0nderful still has so much time to fine tune his skill so will be fun to watch that progression.

Not entirely. I'm a firm believer than there are 4 other players. A good team will push even when one member isn't delivering. But maybe a naive way to look at it?

I think a common misconception about the word 'fluke' exists in the CS world. It really depends on how liberally you are using it, and in the context of CS, we use it pretty liberally. Hear me out, normally, a 'fluke' in CS means that a team is unlikely to repeat certain performance and win consecutive or overall a large amount of tournaments, which is honestly miles away from the true definition of the word. So, if we go by the latter, then yeah, by no means is NaVi's win a fluke, they earned it, all the top teams would have earned it.
However, since the margins in CS are so small, and the work behind the scenes thats done by the different teams is extremely similar, we cannot go by the classic definition. In that regard, yes, NaVi's win is very likely a fluke in CS terms, since I highly doubt it that this 5 man lineup is ever going to win anything at all again in CS2. It's a case very similar to Cloud9's 2018 Boston major run, they didn't win anything before that major (though they did make semis occasionally like NaVi) and they didn't win anything after.
Also, I fundamentally disagree with the amount of work put into something, because as I said, each team does that and let's not forget that sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you try or train, you simply cannot win.
There's that famous saying about hard work and talent, I believe it goes like this: 'Hardwork always beats talent', but people often forget the second part of the saying, which is 'as long as talent doesn't work as hard'. This is NaVi in a nutshell for me, and that's why the run was an overperformance, or a fluke in CS terms. If we also go by the stats, they are the only team in the world to have won the major with only 49 win % of rounds, and played the most amount of maps out of ANY team at any major (18), which shows how many maps they have lost (2 bo3s just in the swiss groups).
Again, I'm not trying to disrespect NaVi, but we gotta be realistic here and understand that this team won't be winning anything else. And I'll be the first to take my hat off should they do it, of course, however, I highly doubt it.

Fair point. I’ll be honest I dropped the fluke word in the title and all over because it’s the conversation right now and I figured it would get attention & hopefully a few eyeballs, cause I’m still a small time creator. Sorry not sorry.
Your points are super valid though. I also think asking members of the org was always going to illicit the response of no. So possibly not a fair line of questioning from my side.
I’ll be curious to see if they can repeat this performance. B1ad3 is a phenomenal coach and I think he may have the ability to pull more magic out of them. But let’s see?
