Happy to see this series on a lace I love. We spend 5 months every winter living in our truck camper in Baja, mostly on the Sea of Cortez. I’ll be curious to see your perspectives. But I worry that the more popular Baja becomes, the more crowded my beloved secluded beaches become!

Hey MAK, how do you like your ExtraTuff boots? I bought some for my trip to Alaska next year. I wear them every chance I get on the premise of breaking them in, but really I wear them because they are clunky and fun! Great episode, BTW. Saying it's all Foresty's fault and he trespassed on private property as if the Cartel adheres to laws is disingenuous. I think it's naive and irresponsible to only portray Mexico as a gangland deathtrap. However I believe it's just as naive, irresponsible and DANGEROUS to portray Mexico just as an Oasis, a playground for Americans too. Especially since UA-camrs have such influence on whether people should visit places. Well informed is all I'm saying. Not looking through rosey colored glasses. Don't take every comment as a personal attack, it's just like urs, an observation and opinion. 😉

Mainland Mexico is so much more varied and interesting than Baja. We’re in Nicaragua getting ready to cross to Costa Rica and part of me still looks back at Michoacán and Sonora as the best places to drive. Enjoy it while you are there as there’s nowhere like it.

Amazing! You can go tot 4k too if you like! But that pot & pan set is from the UK... I don't love it and think I might be switching away from it soon. The removable handles are sketchy and have caused me to drop things and the hot pan!
Baja is beautiful but it can be dangerous. I lived right outside of La Paz for awhile & have been visiting since the 1990's. Be cautious always & stay off the crowded beaches at night.

This is our last truck. This was filmed in January of this year and we built the new truck in July
How did the pop-ups do in the wind that's almost always blowing on the beach in Baja?
Amazing! It is rock solid! Always is!
I too own a pop up similar to the one you see here. They do well in strong winds that are blowing into the front of the truck. Soon as the wind direction changes the soft side gets loud and it is difficult to sleep.

What film simulations are you guys using on the XE-4?
Honestly, it is always changing. I (MAK) don't shoot with that camera much as I prefer to not shoot any sims when I shoot. However Owen is always fiddling with it!

That is from a small town in Chile. It is handmade of Chilean wool so sadly it doesn't really have a brand I can direct you to!
Can you tell the viewers which beaches you stayed at.
Baja is the type of place that is very sparse and remote. It makes it feel like a real adventure when you are exploring down there. We want that to be the case for anyone who goes, so for that reason we decided to not share very many name specific places. Based on maps and context clues none of these places will be hard to find but we feel it’s important that everyone take the time to get to know Baja’s geography and find beaches on their own as there are countless quiet and remote beaches. It ensures that everyone finds their way to a place their vehicle can get to safely and they learn along the way.
Is it still even possible to go to Baja and not do a vLog about it?
Let’s leave the pretentious Starbucks crowd curious but still confused why don’t we?
