  • Remember The Train Derailment CSX Had A Few Days Ago In Covington, Kentucky? The Train That Derailed Was On The Wye Track And Heading To Queensgate Yard, Cincinnati, Ohio. See my video. It was the M510 and the cars that were behind the derailed covered hopper cars were taken back to Louisville, Kentucky by the local. Again, see my video, the link is below. 4 Locomotives from the L404 came from Obannon, Kentucky which is just outside of Louisville and they brought the cars back to Osborne Yard in Louisville. Three days later when the M510 was running north the cars were added to it and I caught them at the same place where the derailment happened three days before. This video shows that. This time when I filmed the train I got the other side of the train. Check out that Chessie System boxcar! THIS IS A REPOST! Other video had a problem.
First we see a CSX local switching freight train that came from Decoursey Yard and was heading to Queensgate. It got permission to go through the zone on 160.230 and I got it at the railroad crossing at the same place where I was a couple days ago. This train came from the CC Sub ( Corbin Cincinnati ). The best frequency for that line is 161.370 which just happens to be the same frequency as the LCL Sub ( Lexington Cincinnati Louisville ) also known as The Short Line.
Next, we see the M510 train with a DPU locomotive mid train. This is the one that I came to film. It took it exactly five hours to get from the street running section of LaGrange, Kentucky to where I filmed it in Covington. LaGrange is just outside of Louisville and I have a Street Running Trains play list with over a hundred videos of freight trains from around America that run in the streets. Look how long that train was! The person who notified me about this train passing through LaGrange told me that it had 123 cars on it. That was his count so let me know if he counted right. Hard to believe that only 2 locomotives could pull all of that. The engineer waved to me at the railroad crossing also! Pretty cool.
After that I went a short distance north to KC Junction. This is where a third CSX line ties in. This line is the Ohio River Line that comes from Russell, Kentucky and operates on 160.230 as the road channel. I just wanted to show the location of a new live camera that is on UA-cam. This area is not very safe, especially if you are alone. I could tell some stories about this location but not enough space here. You will see what the dogs were up to when I got home and then we have the usual slide show that comes from the video.
Filmed Thursday, August 10, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

  • @JawTooth

I had to take the original video down and repost it. A freight car had some pretty bad graffiti on it and I couldn’t figure out how to remove it. I cut out 7 seconds and redownloaded the video.

Nothing like watching a Jawtooth video in the morning!

  • @barryboettger9208

Love the high pitched turbo sounds of the old EMD SD 40-2s leading this local. Trucks extend beyond the body- looks like a barracuda fish copy

  • @terrisrankin968

I love watching the train videos. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always liked counting the cars on the trains.

  • @rogertemple7193

Nice to see the update on that derailment

  • @paulbergen9114

Plenty of varied and older Freight cars but the now frequently seen flat cars are going back to Quebec for aluminum ingots and since Covington is so close to Cincinnati plenty of Hometown gondolas from DJ Joseph. That's an impressive older Steel Bridge but those tall sides also can hide unsavory or downright dangerous people. We love the location shots but we also would like to see you come back safely.

  • @the-terrible63

Awesome trains in Covington, Kentucky, thank you.

  • @Moocowthegreat

Fun fact: If you look at the lights on the railroad crossing, you’ll notice that they will keep getting dimmer until they completely disappear and then keep getting brighter until they’re really bright over and over again.

  • @meares442

Interesting footage. We don’t see that too often. Loki is getting big!! Thank you!

  • @billrogers1740

Nice to see the old New York Central boxcars ahead of the DPU.
