- Trains In The Snow. 6 Trains In Glendale & Wyoming, Ohio. Radar Speed Check On 1 Train In Glendale. Union Pacific Locomotives On Norfolk Southern Trains. CSX owns the track and shares it with Norfolk Southern and Amtrak. A weather advisory was issued for this area with 6-8 inches of snow. There was more snow here than at my house so I headed over this way to film trains since it was the area that was hit the hardest. The first train went over rails that had a snow cover over them. This video has 6 trains and a high rail truck. 5 of the trains are in Glendale and 1 is in Wyoming, Ohio. I did a radar speed check on one of the CSX trains in Glendale.
When I first got to Glendale the roads were just getting plowed and the Railfan parking lot had not touched. After I filmed a couple of trains in Glendale a truck came to the parking lot and started plowing it so I left for a short time to go south about 3 miles to the park in Wyoming to film a train. It took an hour to get a train there and then I returned to Glendale to film some more.
We see my radio up close while the defect detector is going off on 160.230 and we learn some interesting facts about Glendale. I did some train spotting for 5 hours and got 6 trains. That was actually pretty good. On the long drive home I listened to the football game between the Bengals and the Bills. The Bengals won in Buffalo, New York by a score of 27 to 10.

This snowscape is beautiful... especially when you watch it from the warmth of your screen!
NS sure seems to be using a LOT of UP power lately. It's always nice to see trains running in snow.
Yes i noticed that myself.I see quite a few of them on the Harrisburg to Reading Pa. Line
I suspect its because NS might be short engines and all 3rd party engines in use so they ahve to use foreign power to supplement when no engines are available, usually on intermodels you see it a lot.
@@sora6748 You are right about that. In the Harrisburg area there are two intermodel yards one at Harrisburg and one at Rutherford. I got 5 units the other day in 2 hours. It has been busy in this area lately. Plus quite a bit of other freight also.
Trains + snow = cool
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays JT from the swift completion of his appointed rounds. Thank you sir for roughing the elements.
If they don't railfan in all weather, are they really a railfan?
The man is a Legend!!
I may not be worthy to view his work!!
🍵👍🤓👍🍵
Thanks for going out in the snow to bring us some awesome snow trains JT. You really know where to find them. Thanks again. 😇👍
Yeah thats good footage ..
Great shots in the snow ,We in the UK do-not get a lot of snow , stay safe ,stay warm ,best-wishes from uk rail-fans
The snow made for some beautiful scenery.
Good Moening everyone. Coffee with JT and watching the snow fall in Maine..
Good morning Jon
@@jdmacduff1444 Thanks for the note.. Have a wonderful day..
Trains in the snow are cool, they have to be lol
Wow, I haven't heard the rumbling sound of four 645 prime mover EMD locomotives in a power consist in years!
That tanker train shot in the snow and off into the distance is awesome! Thank you for that :) That local at the end had some nice power in the lashup :)
The black tankers looked beautiful against the white of the snow.
Good video jawtooth
My kiddos and I enjoy watching the train's and your fun adventures thanks for sharing 🚂🚃🚄🚅🚆🛤️❄️⛄🥶 Scranton Pa
Good morning JT.
Love the snow videos. If UP dispatchers are looking for power, try Wyoming or Glendale, Ohio, that is.
Love the dedication for all of us to be out in this weather and love seeing Union Pacific power!
Over in Texas it’s only Union Pacific and nFS
thanks for watching !
Let Uncle Pete take over Eastern railroads like they did in the West.
I have to admire your dedication to go out in that kind of weather to keep the videos going. The thing about some states restricting scanner use to certain categories of users is interesting but I would have thought was not needed these days. Here in Victoria Australia the police are using the P25 digital system with some fairly heavy duty encryption. So please keep warm in between trains and have fun.
Good morning JT; What a great video ; trains in the snow, you can’t get much better than that. Thanks!
Good Morning 🌞🌄
I enjoy seeing the trains in the snow. My favorite was that CSX local. Stay warm! Great video!
I like the rolling pipe-trains. Glendale, nice this little town and nice location. You have snow. We in Berlin have no snow. At Monday we have 2 Grad celsius. It´s to warm for snow. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven
Thanks for the snow trains. Interesting info about the actress! Have a good day.
Looks very pretty.
Above and beyond to drive those roads to film trains.
Love your foul-weather dedication and the snow-train. Always thought there was a boxcar at the end of a tanker train. Thank You JT!
Thank you very much!
It's usually a covered hopper at each end.
As for why they had moved the other buffer to the front with the power, couldn't tell you, they aren't supposed to.
@@cp368productions2 That's what the inspector told me.
They are supposed to have a box car upfront between the engines and the tanker. Federal regulations. What i heard from an engineer anyway
@@markwalker1144 any type of car loaded with sand. Usually it's a covered hopper. I have only seen a boxcar used as a buffer once.
Good morning Jaw Tooth! I saw the little Dupps switcher toot-tootin' around the neighborhood last week! Not a fan of driving in the snow myself. Be safe
I have been very impressed with the beauty of Ohio small towns. ❤
Wow looks like y'all got a little snow up there, stay warm if you can. Thanks again for being so dedicated to railfanning
Thanks for watching
I sure do appreciate your dedication Jawtooth.
That little town does have a certain charm to it.
Absolutely fantastic video. I love winter snow trains especially when sitting here enjoying hot coffee!
⛄Thank you very much for this very nice video and have a great week! ❄👍🙏
Great sounding EMD's on the last train! Thanks JT.
Thank you too!
If tou think that off ramp was in terrible condition, you should see the ones we have in Minnesota!!
I love the snow trains it coming down pretty good you find such pretty towns to film I love to watch your videos I’ve learn so much about trains and thank you JT❤
Fantastic video JT! The snow cover really sharpens up the view of the train coming down the tracks!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Really admire your dedication to us railfans JT, rain, shine, or in this case snow. Some pretty impressive trains rolling through the snow. Thanks for all your efforts JT.👍🏼
thanks for your support!
@@JawTooth your welcome JT.👍🏼
I never realized how often class 1 RRs shared locomotives.
Did that train have snow tires? Also, you could make a snow man while you wait for trains.
Great Video! Love the snow scene. Admire your dedication in producing quality video.
Thank you very much!
I wish we had some of this snow in Southeast Pennsylvania!!! Keep up the great work, JT!!
Thanks! Will do!
Having lived in Alaska I do miss the snow so it is nice to see scenes like this....thanks!!!!
More to come! Wednesday we are supposed to get a major winter storm. We are supposed to get freezing rain also so that might be an issue
Entertainment for Men.
Sorry! Girls like trains too! 😊
🤕🪝🌞🌄💙
@@kathibaker1574 Yes girls do ! I was poking fun at the old Playboy magazine which used that line.
And thank you for the speed gun...
Keep warm & safe.... 👍
Huh…I always assumed that Peg Entwistle was buried in Hollywood. I didn’t realize that she had been cremated and buried in Ohio.🤯
Love that B&O Station! Looks Good!
Mornin'. A big, big black worm! Nice video. I live just upriver but we didn't get the snow.
Jaw Tooth in the Snow! Thank you for getting out there. Still have not heard how duck is doing? How's duck? Weather is my hobby...trust this one, some single digit temps coming in February. Duck pond will ice over again. Hard for snow to disrupt rail traffic.
Poor duck is gone. The pond froze over and I tried to catch the duck to bring her inside but I couldn't get near her. I fell on the ice 4 times and gave up. She wouldn't go into the barrels and things that I put out there with food in it. After the pond froze over she had nowhere to hide. I miss that poor duck. I tried to get her in the 8 below zero blizzard but she was afraid of ppl
@Jaw Tooth The thumbs up is only to thank you for your reply. Glad you are OK. Sorry about the duck. Guess especially domestic ducks are short on common sense.
Looks different from when you filmed in the summer 😃 thats cool seeing that area w/ snow ☝
It is!
Thats cool, I like the snow trains, gives it a totally different atmosphere, and the sound is different !! 👍
Lots of UP power in this video... Love it !!
Nice little towns, so quiet 👍
Super Awesome Video !! 👍👏👍
Amazing videos Jaw Tooth keep up the good work
Thank you for telling about the cars and what they are carrying and what they can carry
Wow, the train gods were with you today for this one. Great video with 6 great trains. Thank you. Stay safe traveling.
Hi Jaw Tooth a taste of winter!! Thank You 😊
Awesome video in the snow but wait there’s more 👍😎🚂🇺🇸❄️❄️❄️❄️
Nothing can stop jaw tooth from giving us live action, snow what snow.
Great train compilation!
Wow! I can’t believe how many tanker cars were on that train! I loved watching this!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your sterling efforts on this one. Nasty snowy day to be out videoing trains! Looks nice when it's first fallen but it even looks cold on film. That defect detector needs looking at. I watched it twice and there are two six axle locos and 100 grain cars. Adds up to 112 axles in my book! Couldn't see anything missing on the train so I guess the detector doesn't detect its own faults.
Those videos were well worth the time you spent getting cold filming so keep up the good work for us to enjoy watching.
Glad somebody else noticed too
@@robt2151 Just goes to show that modern technology is not all it's cracked up to be!
If it has 100 cars and 2 6-axle locomotives, it has only 112 axles? Um that would be 2 locomotives and 25 cars there is 4 axles per car. It's 412 axles, the detector missed one axle.
@@cp368productions2 that's right! Somehow I got two ones instead of 41! Looked carefully at the video and all the cars had 4 axles and none were missing so the detector must have missed one.
Almost all American cars have 4 axles so it's clear there's a miscount. If it had been a British train there could have been a 3 axle milk tank in the mix, though there aren't many like that these days!
Well Jar Tooth, glad to see you are out there plowing through the snow to bring us this video. Do be extra careful. Good on ya mate.
Thanks 👍
Good morning I enjoyed your video👍👍
Good morning!
You are very dedicated risking your safety in the snow....thanks so much Jawtooth.
Glendale is such a pretty little town.
There's something special about trains in the snow ❄️🌨️😁
Thanks Jawtooth 👍
Yes indeed!
That is a lot of snow great catch
Excellent hope you are enjoying the snow. Thanks for coming out
I could be wrong, but doesn't the axle count have to be an even number? 411 just does not sound right.
I enjoy snow trains, so I went back and watched this again. Great Video JT!
A lot of UP power
JT Ur Positive Guy thats helps me cause i get down same ol thing
Take it easy in that snow! You got the 4X4 going I hope. Great video. Stay warm.
Thanks, you too!
A 4x4 is OK for getting out of being stuck. But it's usually safer to drive in FWD.
Your dedication is amazing JT. Thank you 😊
A manifest train in the snow is awesome!
Wow! Lot of snow!
Never that long either cool to see them in the snow
Awesome snow trains👍
Thank you very much!
Awesome the trains in the snow awesome video Jaw Tooth beautiful country too and enjoying watching too and enjoy the side show too AWESOME trains in the snow 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃😎❤️ and looks cold out there too AWESOME VIDEO JT
Glad you enjoyed it
That would make a beautiful painting, the train in the snow. Very pretty. I know very little about trains, but I enjoy your show and learning.
Thank you very much!

And thank you for adding the CC
that last train had some EMD power! listen to those engines growling
I'm late today I went 100 north of my home to a job site had 3 inches of snow up there finished up and went home,we had rain at my end of New England and it started snowing here about two hours ago put the plow on and backed the GMC in I am ready great snowy video jaw tooth glad to see that you're on the job

Awesome video and thanks for going out and doing video's in the cold JT!!!
More to come! thanks Jeff!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!!
Always enjoy your photography! Sincerely, John Pyke Michigan
I really enjoy watching your train videos they’re awesome.Thank You for a great job
Finally some snow trains
The second train was recorded by the defect detector as having 411 axles, but how do you count an odd number of axles on a train with an even number on all the cars and locomotives, my count was 412 total axles. Just trying to win your thoughts. Excellent video!
I Love the History.
Brian you go from cold to hot and today in Winchester Kentucky at 69 degrees unbelievable and I'm looking at my railroad tracks right after this two sets out here in front of my house have a good one and God bless
Your doing a Great Job JT !!!
I like the snow trains. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
