Thanks!! No just basic wire strippers and hand tools should get the job done. Good luck!! If you have any issues or questions let me know and I’ll try to help.
gauge cluster does look cool, I wish they made them for s10. nice work with your truck. this helps me out alot I want to rewire my s10 due to the age and also the factory bulkhead connector is pretty much trashed. It seems most of the universal wiring kits for gm columns have the old school dimmer switch and wiper switch. I need to have mine all work through the column did you notice if that harness could do that?
Hey brother I appreciate the content and I’m sorta stuck in my build. I’m running the speedway 22 as well but with the Dakota digital cluster. My ls swap has a stand alone harness and fuse block. Where I’m having trouble is that the speedway only has one pink ignition wire coming into the engine bay. Did you splice into this for the starter alternator and fuel sending
Thanks man. So the pick ignition wire that is in the engine compartment bundle should on a distributor engine would go to the battery side of the distributor. That will only have power with the key in the run position. For your LS swap your standalone harness should have a spot where it need 12v power with the key on to fire the coils for the spark plugs. The sending unit wire is in the rear wiring bundle I think it should be a tan colored wire. The starter and alternator has there own bundle of wires that should go to them. Hope this helps if you have any questions just ask
Im having an issue. My power windows, gauges, etc stay on when battery is on. Is there a key on switch or wire that im overlooking. Ignition is correct. Starter works. Just confused why everything stays powered up. Thanks.
Thanks!! You will love the painless kit it’s very intuitive. If you are routing everything through the factory location it makes it a lot faster. I would say if you’re doing it after work and then on the weekend probably about a good week like that if it’s your first time. I think I basically had everything ran in one weekend. The main thing is not to rush pulling the wires and getting them all tangled. It makes it harder to troubleshoot things later.
Amazing Job... Looks so good so I just order that kit. Did you need any special crimpers? Thanks for sharing.

Yes I think you can if you figure out the pin out on the bottom of the column
