I did it successfully........... The trick is that you MUST use suction to pull out the ink to start the flow of the new ink. I draped a folded-over paper towel between the ink cartridge and the nozzle end of a small shopvac I had handy. Turn the shopvac on for a few seconds and it will begin to suck out the ink to begin flowing. When you see the ink starting to soil the paper towel, you can stop the shopvac and install the cartridge into the copier.

Hmmm…. Maybe power down and restart/ reset it. I hope that would help. Do you still have the manual? You can usually get the Manual on line as well. I would start there. I hope you get it figured out. I know what a pain printers can be.
I know this is way too long of a reply. If this still persist, hp doesnt recognize refilled cartridges. Its not a problem anyways. It would still work.
D Hi there! Did you found the problem I have the same. I filled out my cartridge but still didn't print. And it said the black ink still empty even it's full. Thank you
@mariakochelorov1099 it doesn't work . Hp chip is only recognized 120 prints . So after that .. hp disable the chip and the cartridge no longer works..
How do you know the date of a HP All in One Deskjet f4180 cartridge? I have about 5 empty ones and would like to refill the most recent ones, so as i dont fill a very old one and the sponge be dried out and leak all over the printer.

Thanks for the compliment:) the music is pretty cringe I admit. I get lost in all the options and end up making pretty random choices. Sorry about that. I hope this vid helped u save some money on ink at least!
In a dry climate it’s a good idea to turn power off, I think i read somewhere that it closed off the ink heads so it wont dry out as fast. I’m not totally sure but I would try it. Best of luck
I do the SAME THING with my CANON BLACK INK cartridge (print in GRAYSCALE) and have the same issues BUT it works so I do it again about 4-5 times per cartridge before I buy a NEW ONE to get the NEW INK JETS on the bottom of the cartridge ! :-)
Hi there, yes, I think it would still work just about the same. It may be slightly different but for the most part fairly similar. I would at least try.
Sometimes you have to clean the cartridge on the bottom. I put it in a very shallow amount of hot water. Just so the bottom of the ribbon on the bottom can soak. You will see where the ink comes through. Then I dry it really well and it usually is the problem. I hope you get it working! I know it’s a pain. Also, if you keep your printer on stand by mode the ink will fry up faster again if you don’t use it often. It is better to shut it off bc it should close the cartridges and they won’t fry out as fast. I rarely use my printer and I have to clean it almost every time I use it.
"IT'S ONLY INK"! Put a piece of scotch tape on the hope after filling. If you don't want to vacuum to move the ink, just set the cartridge upright and let gravity pull the ink through the sponge. Wear gloves to protect your fingers from getting ink on them.
@@robert50173i used a toothpick in each hole. But the cartridge was so dry. I really had to shove it in. After filling with only 5ml it seems to be flowing out the bottom. So I had to syringe some out. In the video she used around 4ml it looked like even though she said ten. So I’m questioning what I did wrong. 😂
I like that you left in the mistakes rather than editing them out. Thanks!

I think the little circuit boards know it’s Out of Ink on the newer printers. Tough to beat that.
You can use a hair dryer to warm enough to remove the sticker if you feel you need too. Just a thought for others that have to have it removed.

Why not BLOW into the hole to get the new ink to flow?
