Such a good presentation you made...I wanted to ask you if you have read King Henry's biography that was mostly compiled from King Henry's ex fool.
His name was Will Sommers I believe.
It was a whale of a book about a whale of a King.
Will had much to say about this wife that was important to her story and King Henry's subsequent behavior that wasn't mentioned.

I believe Katherine, a young girl, was a people-pleaser. Neglected since birth, she was molested as a child, manipulated by powerful men and sold as a young wife to a tyrant, old enough to be her father. She was a victim of circumstances and she was powerless to stop her fate from happening :(

The claims that she was molested as a child are actually highly unlikely and more likely something she said out of desperation. Manox was probably that much older than her and there is evidence she instigated the relationship- especially given the disparity in their ranks. he also couldn't have done anything during their lessons as she would have been chaperoned.

I believed that Katherine was a neglected child who was vulnerable to the "affections" of predatory men like Mannox and Dereham. Then, due to the political intriguing of her Howard elders, she was victimized again--being pushed forward to capture Henry's attention and the crown. That she was executed is one of Henry's worst and cruelest actions. Her story is one of use and abuse by those who should have protected her--and being nothing more than pawn in the political machinations of her family, she was the only one to pay a horrendous price.
Agreed. However, knowing what had happened to her distant cousin Ann Boleyn (on adultery and incest allegations), she was terribly imprudent to have a romantic relationship with Culpepper. She received poor advice from her family. Adultery was rightly considered as treason for a Queen since she could insert a bastard child into her husband 's line of succession. Furthermore, the King would have been humiliated in front of his country and the whole of Europe.
Her Uncle Howard's son was executed shortly before Henry's death ad her uncle would have been too if Henry had not died first. So, they did pay a price but hers was worse because she was not trying for political gain.
I agree. My heart aches for that child taken too soon and so cruelly. I hope she has found eternal peace.
I feel really sad for Katherine, she should’ve been allowed to be with the man she loved, that being Culpepper, and had a happy life. Someone should write an alternate historical fanfic story in which Katherine and Culpepper end up together rather than her being married off to that jerk Henry.

I didn't expect to get so emotional listening to this! I appreciate the fact you represented Katharine as a person, not an harlot who fooled the king along with her scheming family. Henry lamented his pain but never thought for a second how young his wife was.
Henry truly was unhinged after his divorce from Catherine of Aragon. He saw himself as basically a God and he was notorious throughout Europe for killing his nobles, which actually wasn't all the common, at least at the rate Henry was doing it. Even less common was killing a consort. Exile, yes. Locking a wife in a convent was acceptable. Annulment, fine. But executions were rare. Henry was seen as a tyrant, which is he was.
Watching this documentary of Katherine Howard is a revelation. She was a high spirited, full of life and loved beautiful clothes and jewellery which is normal for young women. She was very kind to Elizabeth and Edward and to Anne of Cleves. Mary, who was too sour to be friendly to Katherine. I believe Henry had her executed as she pricked his manly ego and Henry's ego was of megalomanical poportions.
Yeah, Henry wasn't the same after that joust where he fell and hit his head. Total brain damage I think, because he was insane after that

Katherine’s casual upbringing sealed her fate. She was not astute enough to see how she was being manipulated by the adults around her. So sad that her life ended so tragically.
Anne of Cleeves was the only one who got to live her life as a single very wealthy lady . Henry was very grateful that she didnt try & fight Henry to stay queen consort which to her credit was the smartest thing to do . Henry declared her his honorary sister & gave her several estates & very nice allowance & household for Anne
Dereham particularly paid a horrendous price for that dalliance. Culpepper too paid the ultimate price. I think Henry’s worst act was the execution of Margaret Countess of Salisbury, an aged lady he had known all his life. A Royal Princess herself. His vindictiveness knew no bounds.
I love how you humanize her, and let us recognized as a real person, who was tragically murdered by her old sickening husband.

Henry spent most his life expecting all around him to be responsible for his emotional well-being. To me he comes off as an enormous petulant child constantly wallowing in self pity. And physically, well, did they have no mirrors in the palace? Catherine was barely out of her childhood, and where were her advisors? Very sad for her. Very repulsed by him.
Unfortunately, it was very dangerous to give unwelcome advice or say "no" to Henry.
Agree. I have read historical books about Henry's wives. Catherine Howard is often described as a playful young woman who cheated on him. This story had explained het in a positive Light. Glad to have heard it.
He really was a very Narcissistic man imo, and he had zero compassion.
Unfortunately, her own uncle is the one that put her in this position. And when her immaturity caught up with her, he washed his hands of her and tossed her to the side. She was so young and this was a horrible situations for her. And the fact that her own family put her there is disgusting. Especially after they saw what Henry did to her cousin. Catherine's situation really was a tragedy.

11 children SURVIVED until adulthood!?!? 😲 That's an amazing feat and I'm in awe because of that. She must've been an angel of a mother. I love these medieval history lessons. I watch them everyday.
The Howard family not only had very low infant/child mortality rates but also many of them routinely lived well into their 70's and 80's!!! They certainly must have had some excellent genetics!
My father-in-law is one of 16...all alive and well! I believe it's genetics.

This is a beautiful tribute to Catherine. I know that many people dislike The Tudors, but I loved the portrayal of her by Tamzin Merchant. They showed her as young, fun loving, caring, and so full of life and joy. She was a great light in that show and the execution scene was also, incredibly beautiful and dignified, even though they gave her the Culpeper line.
I agree, Katherine was a ray of sunshine in that dark place that was Henry’s court. She should’ve been allowed to be with the man she loved. She was a kind stepmother to Henry’s children Elizabeth and Edward. I’m sure that Edward was terribly saddened by what happened to Katherine.
Cate deserves so much more than being known as the 'party girl'. I cannot imagine being only in my late teens and navigating all the political minefields she had to.
And there was no evidence of definitive sexual relations with any of the men she was accused of being with. Women's sexuality was judged very harshly then and still today. She was very likely a naive and trusting teenager. She knew when to distance herself from the men when they wanted more as so much rested on a woman's honour. It's unlikely she had all these dalliances but somehow never got pregnant. Seems more likely she was a victim of vicious tongues, jealousy, political intrigue and sexism.
@@nimue4325 I don’t know, I think she did have a sexual relationship with Dereham considering there was a witness. A girl who Catherine was roommates with while in boarding school claimed that a night it was hard for her to sleep because of the strange “puffing” noises Catherine and Dereham would make during the night. Plus Catherine only claimed she was “abused” by Mannex and Dereham after she found out her sentencing.

Katherine Howard to me was a young girl living in the 16th century who was a victim of circumstance. Her life with luxury gifted to her so young under a monarch and person like Henry VIII was certainly too good to last. I feel sorry for her when I read about and watch documentaries about her.
Her lack of education didn't help her either in her last days and also the fact that Henry's ministers painted Catherine in a certain way that will make Henry throw Catherine under the bus.

I agree. In many ways, the case of Lady Jane Grey was similar: a young lady used as a pawn by scheming elders, made to marry (although that wasn't unusual for the time), and caught in an untenable position through no fault of her own that eventually costs them their life.
Another excellent documentary.
Popular history tends to paint very simplistic portaits of historical figures. She was good, she was bad, she was promiscuous, she was flippant, she was immature etc. But complex people living in complex times cannot be reduced to one word. You have examined the subject from all angles in a fair-minded way. Very enlightening. Thank you.

I believe that Catherine Howard was actually more sinned-against than sinning. The Duke of Norfolk shoved her at Henry..then shoved her under the bus when she made a mis-step typical of an undereducated, unsupervised teenager.
This commentator is far too discrete and tactful to suggest what is certainly a possibility: that once married to Henry, the teenaged-but hardly sexually inexperienced--Catherine might have found Henry, old, fat, with a stinking, ulcerated leg physically repugnant once he was divested of his gloriously flamboyant Day Clothing. Take away the satins, velvets and cloth-of-gold, the jewels and other trappings of kingship, and what you have is what I described earlier. Obviously Catherine tried to "be bonnie and buxom in bed and at board" since Henry believed her pregnant several times.
What a terrible fate for a young girl.
Totally agree…I think she likely was just a pretty normal child and young woman, repeatedly left in bad situations with no one looking out for her, doing her best in complex situations that were thrust on her through no fault of her own.

The Duke of Norfolk was a major player in waving both his nieces Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard under Henry’s nose for personal and family gain and then threw them both under the bus without any protection, guidance or support. He presided over Anne Boleyn’s trial for treason and ultimate death sentence for goodness sake.

Catherine Howard was a young girl who had no guidance or parenting. Her emotional maturity was that of a child. I think Henry VIII victimized her and just as all the other men in her life. Sadly she paid the ultimate price with her life.
It’s too bad that she didn’t get to marry Dareham who seemed to truly loved her before Henry took an interest in her.
I saw Six the musical and was obsessed with her story and have been looking up more information about them all. What she went through was so heartbreaking and her song in Six was equally hard to hear (although it's my favorite song of the show). Happy that history is being reframed for her and she's being seen in a different light.
I'm so excited to see that SIX has brought so many people to learn about the wives of Henry and to re-think their preconceived notions on them as well. K Howard was a queen, especially, who deserved to be shown in a new light at last.

@@meginmd does that matter, if it's working as a starting point to get people interested and encourage them to look into more information? Like, I've seen documentaries that are plenty inaccurate too - and at least with a musical you understand that it's altered and dramatised right from the off, by its very nature.
If you watch a documentary that's 'full of inaccuracies,' that's much harder to spot and the inaccuracies are much easier to believe because the format lends credence to them. I think it's very easy to snoot about a deliberately dramatised medium, and make yourself feel good that way - but much harder to admit that not even media presented as serious and informative is free from inaccuracy, that there isn't actually, really, as much of a dichotomy as you're acting like.

I had to leave the video when the letters asked for a position in the palace in turn for her acquaintance were read. It sickened me to think how callus these people were to such a young and somewhat misguided youth. This poor girl was doomed from birth. Thank you for such an in-depth video of her troubled life. This series of documentaries, are undoubtedly the best I've ever watched, and I have watched hundreds. Really well put together, well narrated and fascinating from beginning to end. Thank you.
As usual, an outstanding piece of work. And if I may, Gareth Johnson is the ONLY narrator who gets it right.
There is a great book by Philippa Gregory , the Boylen inheritance. In it she is portrayed as a mischievous young girl, not promiscuous necessarily, just really young and not even immature, she was 14 years old, for goodness sake! It’s really good though. Anyone interested in this documentary would love it. It is historical fiction, but the major events in the book all seem to be accurate. And it’s from her point of view, all the way to the execution.
Likely she was 18. There is record of her telling the French ambassador that she was 18. There is a book called Young Damned and Fair that is probably the most detailed and balanced account of her life.
What an excellent piece. I learned some new things, but mostly appreciate the depth of understanding and revising of her image from such a one dimensional and simplistic view.
It is worth noting that in Katherine’s indictment she was not accused of adultery. It was believed that her taking Dereham into her service was an indication that she planned to return to her “ evil ways”.

I was never really interested in the kind of history about kings, queens and battles, but a few years ago we discovered through our family tree that I'm descended from the Howards and am cousin to Catherine Howard, Anne & George Boleyn, and their siblings, 15 times removed. I didn't know much about Catharine so I was really pleased to learn more. This is a fabulous documentary and just goes to underline how people's lives were often manipulated by some men who had greed for wealth and power. Brave, brave girl. :)

I love this interpretation of her! I too fell into the constant documenting of her as a young, "hot in the pants" teenager so I'm glad to see these points being considered. Court is a place of plotting, schemes, and master manipulators. The reality is she was a child constantly being taken advantage of for other people's power and personal gain and she lost her young life unjustly because of it.
It's hard to accept ANY version from "The Tudors", but it does seem to be close to the truth.

Always nice to see someone, anyone speak of Catherine Howard as more then the sum of her parts. She was abused and groomed by men in a society that considered women to be dolts and below male children in the general scheme of life. Their intelligence considered less then any male. I am always a little gleeful that Catherine's cousin and fellow unfortunate wife, Anne really wins in the end as it is her daughter who gives England a true Monarch. Go Howards, they really got the better of Henry in the universal scheme of things. Also their bravery in the end is astonishing. I would have to be dragged kicking and screaming, such is the difference between the past and the present.

How could a sick man of 50 be involved with a girl of sixteen. The ego of the man was unbelievable. Today he would be imprisoned for a long long time. At least he suffered in his old age for the evil he committed
No he wouldn't because at 16 it's all legal. I'm not condoning the situation but it's just how things worked in those days.

Henry VIII serial killer. Spoilt, greedy, cruel and vindictive.
Cannot begin to tell you how big into the Tudor period I was as a child. I knew EVERYTHING about them, from Henry VII right the way through to James VI becoming James I. And nothing, in 25 years of life, made me feel more sympathetic and emotionally attached to Catherine Howard until I watched Six (the musical) with my mum.
Nowhere near enough attention is given to this poor girl, and her life story is both tragic and fascinating. She deserved so much more than what she got...
I think Mannox was a vindictive man who set out to destroy Catherine when she rejected him. I think that he was at the root of all her problems.
He does seem to keep cropping up…
He only "confessed" under torture by Cromwell!
Her stupidity and affairs with Dereham and then Culpepper were more likely to have caused her downfall than Mannox.
None of the noblemen accused of being with Anne Boleyn confessed, even under torture. George Boleyn’s wife, Lady Rochford, testified against him. It was good she was condemned with Catherine because of what she did to the Boleyns, being a false witness. What goes around comes around.
Yes,he was a paedo who preyed on her when she was 11...he bragged that he had had her by the c...y many a time,but denied full sex with her.she met Dereham and was happy,mannox then grassed her to her gran,who sent her to Henry,on purpose with the uncle for gain..they sent Dereham to Ireland.henry didn't like Anne of cleaves,so he married Catherine...then she had an affair with culpepper,who was a rapist and murderer...by then,Dereham came back and turned up at court..she wasn't interested in him by then,but her former dorm mate Jane lacells,grassed her past to her brother,who told the archbishop.he told Henry and Catherine was investigated and locked up...everyone was locked up and mannox and her family got left off.catherine,Dereham,culpepper and lady rotchford were all beheaded.her spirit haunts Hampton Court til this day

I love in horsham and walk past her old house all the time on dog walks, you can push through the pushes and look over the river to see this huge, beautiful country home. So interesting to know that the future queen of England lived 5 minutes away from me
That’s very cool! We don’t have that kind of history here in USA. I live within walking distance of churches built in 1800s, but that’s as historical as it gets in central Fl. I’d love to visit the UK and see the history like yours.
I really enjoyed hearing about her great generosity and goodwill those suffering. It’s clear that she wasn’t brought up to live in this world and suffered the consequences tragically.
My heart goes out to her! She was just a teen and this doesn’t mention that it seems she fell under suspicion when Henry was refusing to see her because of his leg injury and she may have been lonely and they may have drifted apart allowing psycho-Henry to become more suspicious than usual. Thank you for this great biography, I learned things I hadn’t known before.

I read Russell Garrett’s (or vice versa) book & it gave me more of a bigger picture of Katheryn’s life & a better understanding of the world she lived in. He writes as a big brother defending his sister. It’s very detailed & insightful.

Catherine Howard despite her many faults and the missmanagement of her affairs, she was a good young woman at heart, a victim of envy, jealousy and the greed of her family. She cannot be judged by todays standards. Her only crime was her naivety and her unfaithfulness to old Henry.
She wanted to be queen and loved by a younger man, she wanted her cake and eat it too...
Henry cheated on all his wives, so the fact that she did the same and died for it is just plan hypocritical. Plus he was old, fat and his leg made him stink…she was a teen…can anyone really blame her?
@@kimarm2608 but that was law back then (doesn’t make his hypocrisy okay), the king was expected to have many mistresses and affairs, while the queen was forced by law to only have eyes for the king. It’s why she was killed, it was illegal for the queen to cheat on the king, but encouraged for the king to cheat on his queen

@@madokami03 King Henry's father, Henry VI, was actually a good husband to his wife and father to his children. Its a shame Henry VII couldn't learn from his parents' loving marriage and treat his wives as anything more than incubators of male heirs.
On a note, Shah Jahan, the king who built the Taj Mahal, had eyes only for his queen. He had no interest in other women and married 3 other wives only because he was expected to but his true love was Mumtez Mahal.

Recently, the world watched a modern 15 year old victim of abuse face consequences of the actions of the adults around her. I couldn't help but think of Kamila Valieva while listening to Catherine's story. No, she didn't lose her head, but her life was destroyed. At only 15 years old. To bring glory to people who not only knew better, but who didn't care at all about her wellbeing. It was sickening. Catherine's story is, too. How anybody could think badly of her is beyond my mind.
Funny how in the musical six they really did a good job portraying all the wives especially Catherine Howard. she was basically a child who was used abused and then Condemned for it
Henry was such a prick who did so much damage. Every time I listen something like this, I quietly thank all our predecessors who bravely fought and bled to rid humanity of dependence on the will of one individual. RIP Catherine. She sounds like such a lovely spirit.
I feel sorry for her because she knew only what she knew and she cared very deeply and had sincere feelings. But you must teach a young adult so they know what is expected of them so they won't deter themselves from what they are prepared to become if that makes any sense.

Out of all of Henry’s wives, Catherine of Aragon and Catherine Howard are the ones I felt the most sorry and sympathy for: Catherine of Aragon for losing so many of her children and having her only surviving daughter taken from her, and Catherine Howard for being taken advantage of at such a young age, and paying an unfair and terrible price for it 😔
Thank you for making this series about the wives of Henry VIII showing us who they were in themselves. I see a strong influence of Katherine's family guiding many of her more astute actions. The more gentle ones I believe were indicative of her true nature. Finally only Anne and Katherine were beheaded was this because they were the only 2 who were 'unfaithful'?

I think it was tragic that such a young and inexperienced young girl became queen to an egomaniac such as King Henry VIII. Her death is a direct result of this fact.
She was very brave at the end, poor girl. She was just a silly girl with a good heart and was used by a lot of people. People from her youth wanting places at court etc. so sad. Yes, perhaps if she had known she could say pre contract, she could have but, did she have anyone , anyone at all, in her corner. Maybe she didn’t have the knowledge to know that. Others could have helped her but most were frightened of Henry and their own head. Understandable perhaps . No such thing as a lawyer to help her? She was kind to all and went to her death like a queen. 👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I expect once Durham said it, confirmation of the fact had to come straight from her without any prompting. No lawyer? Nope. I think they still had the Star Chamber, started by Henry VII and you didn't get a lawyer there.
I doubt that Henry would have let her live anyway. He was (apparently) apoplectic with rage when he discovered that she was not a virgin.

This documentary shows the depth of Catherine Howard's fascinating story, often portrayed as a silly, empty-headed, and a victim of exploit (which I have to say this is true). This video gives a new highlight about her life and personality. Before I used to think that Katherine Howard often had a hard time during her stay in the dowager duchess household due to sexual relationship with her music teacher Henry Mannox, I used to think that she was molested by Mannox but this documentary had given some statement regarding Katherine's relationship with Mannox. I do believe that Katherine willingly entered the relationship with Mannox and later with Dereham
I agree, the evidence points to consensual relationship as opposed to the opposite. There’s a lot of evidence but what I’ve always found to be the most convincing is that she is one that ended both relationships. She wasn’t used and dropped, she dropped them. I think she was a lot stronger than people gave her enough credit. Though obviously she the relationships were still extremely inappropriate and predatory by today’s standards! I just think there’s so much more to her than just the victim.

Howard may not have been the best educated, but one might have thought that knowing her cousin was killed by this king would have made her more cautious. Every queen had an army of opponents waiting for her to misstep. No sensible queen would ever be alone with a man who was not a close relative. Why fuel that fire?
I think she was very modern in that she liked men and she liked to flirt and had relationships. Unfortunately that was not the way girls were supposed to behave at that time.
The fact that she wrote love letters to culpepper whilst Queen didn't help. She also snuck around to see him unchaperoned. All of this and her past flirtations brought about her downfall.
Men could flirt and sleep around without consequences. Katherine was a virgin however a woman could not do the things men were allowed to do.
Some did but if yiu were caught as in Katherine's case there were consequences.
She was not a good marriage candidate for the king but she was pushed towards him. Poor Katherine.
@@amandam480 One's heart breaks for Catherine even though she was admittedly a very foolish girl. The emphasis is on girl. Her powerful family pushed her into a marriage with a much older man who had already murdered one of her relatives and who she almost certainly didn't love. Now, I tend to agree with David Starkey that Catherine was likely not a virgin when she married Henry and that her caretaker's household was incredibly negligent towards preserving young women's virtue (a key point of value in the age). Catherine was taken advantage of by at least 1 older man at a fairly young age under this care, and she was extremely ill prepared for the politics of court. This was akin to throwing a mouse into a den of hungry snakes.
That said, she was privy to her cousin's history and had some idea of the behavioural standards expected of queens, especially those of the sexual nature, so it was utterly foolish to show ANY affection to any man besides the king, no matter how much her young heart may have desired otherwise. Putting her desires in writing effectively signed her own death warrant and forced Henry's hand to execute her.
Talk about spiteful. Taking away 2 maids is the best way to make your stepdaughter hate you forever
Those Archbishops were dangerous busy-bodies. Henry was most probably terrified at the idea of these young girls marrying others, and be happy. Laughing at him, his disgusting body, etc. etc. They had to die. They were like little birds who fly right into their cage, get caught by him, and killed. He knew the power-hungry nobles will supply him with fresh young girls, readily. He most probably were annoyed at the fact, that he used such a long time with Anne Boleyn. Once he found out how easy it was to kill a young woman, he got a taste for it. He could have been some kind of serial-killer.

Wow, she seemed like a very affectionate woman. She loved animals and she wanted to get along with her step children. Yeah she was young, but it seemed the deck was stacked against her. She showed a lot of dignity despite everything.

Perhaps Catherine Howard was Karma for the fabrications against Anne Boleyn? However you look at Henry's marriages his self indulgence and hypocrisy are stunning.

Ironically, Catherine Howard was Anne Boleyn’s cousin.
I believe The Boleyn Inheritance novel by Philippa Gregory provided good insight into Catherine’s perspective.
Well, I don’t think she can be blamed before what she did before she married Henry. That’s just silly. Even for the day. What does get me is that Henry had a reputation, and she willingly snuck off and courted Culpepper, but it does appear she, though lovely and vibrant, was not the most intelligent. I feel that she probably loved Henry VIII in some sort of way, but he did start to ignore her, and that can really bruise someone’s ego and trouble them. I think she foolishly sought affection elsewhere, and she got caught red handed. This is very unfortunate, and I’m totally on her side. I just wish someone had warned her far before she sealed her own fate. Poor girl. Abused by mature men all of her life, and her head was the one that rolled. And her poor maid! 😢
Poor maid my foot! That ‘poor maid’ was Anne Boleyn’s sister-in-law and she practically sent her husband to his death because of her spite towards him and Anne. So no, sorry, not very much sympathy lost on Jane Boleyn, Lady Rochford.
She actually instigated and encouraged her pre marital affairs so she has to take blame for that. But when her actions were discovered her uncle and great grandmother didn't do that much. Nor should they have married her off to Henry when they knew she was not a virgin.
I think I’m glad I’m not under a monarchy with absolute power.
Excellent documentary, very detailed and scholarly, but well told and compelling as well. The political and psychological motives of the dramatis personae are well thought through and highly convincing. This is a much more balanced and careful analysis of Catherine than one usually finds and probably fairer to the woman herself. She deserves great respect for her kindness and courage in the fly-trap of a doomed marriage to Henry VIII.

Glad you mention the portrait that is now considered to be Anne of Cleves, which I think is true. The difference in hair color is not something one can judge from these, since paint color can change over the years, and also the way the hair is worn can give it a dark or lighter look. Also, the artist might give the hair a lighter or darker look. The thing about the miniature that really gets me is that she DOES resemble a more mature person than Katherine was while Queen~ With as you say, the soft chin, and also for my eye, the facial features resembling A of C, Henry would NOT have been attracted to another person who looked vaguely like her! Anyway, I love that you cover her life. thanks!

Innocence. Women ment nothing to men except for one thing. The poor girl never knew what was really going on. So people took advantage of her ,including the King.
She should’ve gotten married to Dareham even if it was against her parent’s wishes. At least then she would’ve been with someone who loved her.

Poor kid. But in her little time on earth,(besides grown men trying to defile her..yuck), she did her best to help people in Henry's line of fire..Margaret Poole for ex. Poor kid. Blame the Uncle, the greedy Howards!

I think Catherine did an amazing job acclimating to a position for which she had no prior training or upbringing. The double standard has been mentioned here. Indeed, this insidious mechanism is the rancid glue that holds all patriarchal systems in check. None the less, Catherine displayed more courage and dignity than the ponderous, self-pitying man baby who unfortunately for many, wore a crown he no longer was worthy of.
i have always been facinated by the 6 wives and always belived that Cathrine was no more then a misunderstood child, whom men preyed on. I am glad that the world get to see her in a different light then what she has been portraied as through history.
