Love it great job. The Omega Red body mould is what I wanted them to use for Venom since it came out. Why they didn't make an overlay piece with symbiote tendrils to plug into the shoulders God knows. It's only in the last year or so I've become aware of using acetone to remove unwanted paint from action figures. Brilliant that you've done a how to vid and that you show the materials you used at the end. Coincidentally I just got some Milliput White (their fine grade) modelling putty a few days ago. Used it to model some hair on an Ali Express storm Trooper's bald noggin after I removed the helmet.
It would, it might work easier or it might be worse. Easier the paint might be easier to take off or the plastic might decay quicker. If I was doing this again I would've repainted rather than this method
The Mistake you made is using acetone on the harder plastic. The softer plastic is fine but acetone will burn through the harder plastic. That’s why your figure looks “slimy” and it has burn marks. Good effort though.
I think the shading on these figures is stupid. IF I ever got one with the shading it would be with the intention of removing it, exactly like you're doing.
Nice upgrade to Venom. He looks great!
This is the only video I’ve found of someone customizing this retro venom !! I need to find more!!!
Only one u need 😉

It looks a lot better with out the red and blue lines. It reminds me of Spectacular Spider-man's Venom.
Amazing Custom. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks bud! im proud how he turned out!
Looks so much better
Great job fella 👌 really enjoyed the lesson keep them coming 👍
Hello, what kind of paint did you use on the eyes, its looks so smooth , did you use any polish?
Beautiful work. The only other thing I’d do is clip and resculpt the tongue. Mcfarlane always hated what they did with his tongue
I hate the head sculpt in general
it would make a perfect venom if there was a way to swap the headsculpt
Very useful vid.
Glad it was helpful!
Can this work on the bootleg

Much better!!!
what kind of white paint did you use to fix his eye? i got the same issue with mine and with the spider-logo
What white paint did you use?
Been awhile Im sure I say in the video =)
What is the product u r using to remove paint like this?
Acetone nail polish remover

What percentage of acetone are you using? I'm using 45% and it takes a while for the paint to come off using buds. Thanks.
Sad part… hasbro deliberately made an incompetent version of venom just so they can rerelease a better version later… I guarantee it
Yes they did this with the new Amazon 3 pack
Wow.. I didn’t care for the figure but now I regret not buying it
Haha, the potential!!
Why remove the red and blue paint when it's clearly the animated series venom that's supposed to have that detailing?
Probably because he must have wanted it to resemble the modern iterations of Venom with the standard black colour scheme
Because its bad and ugly
Plus its not even accurate
Wasn’t the whole point of the figure the lines
i think it's better without them

100% and now sucks that the spiderman is going this way
