I love how on all your technique demonstrations you always go through the basics in properly starting and stopping your stitches, and clip off loose threads, etc. This is great emphasis for beginners. Basics, basics, basics. In any craft, there is little hope in mastering the advanced stuff until you understand and master the art of always exercising the basics.
Excellent video. I was using a standard piping foot which is great until you hit a 90 degree corner. I was going to grind down my zipper foot but instead I will take a cut off wheel and cut half so that the needle can get adjacent to the piping. Thanks!!!

Great idea for any projects with materials going inside of machine arm .yet not ideal for anything with piping on larger projects to big to fit under arm.
I guess if you have an extra one laying around....then yes! Why not!? Better than waiting for another purchase to show up and potentially not work as nicely as a custom grinded one that fits your purpose! Love the idea!

how do you do that backward move at 4:29 if you have that automatic "material movement thing" underneath running in oposite side? Secont question - why you add that move at the end of seeweing?
Great to be inquisitive! I have showed two ways of backtacking to secure the sewing. The one of min 4:29 is done by using the 'knee lever' and I move the material just a little to backtack no more than threee stitches. The other way I do not use much is by using the 'standard backtacking lever on front part of the machine'. We should take care of not overtack too much. Sometimes it is difficult to control. So i noticed you have great control over your speed with that clutch motor. Do you have a speed reducer, really good brushes or both? It's good to see a high quality stitch from an old Pfaff.

I used a 1/2" of an inch piping cord. I bought it in a hardware store. Yes, I now remember there were several calibers for these kinds of rope. A rubber hose is also useful. @@marieme8702 A used machine like mine in the video in good condition (head, motor and table) costs approx. 700 USD to 1000 USD . I have realized these prices are standard everywhere all over the world.
Similar sewing machines are the Pfaff 545 and the 145 wich is older and cheaper. These machines are powerful.
Another good well known trademarks are Juki, Singer, Consew, Adler, Brother, etc. (triple transport)
