I've been more than a bit terrified of trying this (seemed to complicated for my feeble brain to tackle). Thank you for putting this together and helping to demystify. I'm looking forward to getting this to the table. Very much appreciated.
For Normandy, I found too many errors and ambiguities introduced by Osprey's transcription and summary of David Digby's original design notes - a few threads on BGG on this. I stopped playing Reinforcements after 3 scenarios and I now just play Normandy and North Africa 2-handed. It's a shame because David Digby's solo scenario notes make the game work fine but were obviously too long to fit onto the cards.
What an effort it must have been to design the solo system, I can only imagine the hours it took to work out the kinks! For me personally, I prefer more streamlined solo systems w/ less rules overhead. I had an inkling of how the system worked by reading up on it over at BGG but I had never seen it in action prior to watching your video. Thank you! I think I’ll keep my copy of Undaunted, mostly for playing w/ 2 players. If I feel particularly inspired 😳 to play a solo game, I can always play it two handed, which works surprising well enough, imo.
I’ve never played a real war game before, how does the complexity of the solo rules compare to other solo war games like D-Day, Combat!, or Enemy Action: Ardennes?
I think light wargames are still real wargames, but Undaunted is still very much on the lighter side. It is very accessible. I do think that David's solo-specific designs (e.g. Pavlov's House, Castle Itter) are a lot more fun than Undaunted solo.

I’ve never played this with anyone else sadly, but solo is still great using this system
