Love the work you guys have done. We have black bear on our property here in Vermont . My Shepard runs the bears off twice a week. Dogs a great to have in bear country. I watch my dog tree a bear couple of days ago at ten in the morning . Pretty awesome to see

Scary, cutting a hole in your wall, eh? btw, any cracks you have in your subfloor, walls, or ceiling like at 12:05, I would cover them with tuck tape before you get the insulation in. Will help keep ants and flies out.

I used pack horses to move materials for the USFS and some times I had other couples that wanted the adventure of going deep into mountain territory... I had a older woman riding a old pack horse on the last of the string... a brown bear took the horse an her over the side of the hill killing both and leaving my passengers screaming.. I took three shots with a hot load 270 mag and the bear still struggled... no cell phones them days in early sixties. Not the way to make the news. A bear is very smart and normally does not attack... this one was very old and hungry

The new edition is beautiful, why did you not finish it out before filling it with possessions? Now you have to move them all out of the way to put in the flooring, the insulation, the walls, the ceilings.
We are going to enjoy it for a couple months then work on it once the weather gets crappy. It won't be too bad to move the stuff....plus we were really excited to sleep on a nice bed, lol

I feel if strap sre good for roof boards or deck boards they should work for a door header. And if you frame door opening with a one byevitvwill hide strap

Looks great! It will suck when you have to move all that furniture out to do the walls and flooring but at least you have a bed now to sleep on and extra room for guests now!!

Moving all your furniture into that bedroom before it's done is going to make it a pain in the ass to insulate, wire and put interior coverings up.
I understand but it will take ten minutes to remove the furniture when we are ready to work on it, which will be in a few months. might as well enjoy it until then. Best wishes my friend
Nice addition to your house and with the black bears if they get too close to your house you should get some bear bangers we have those up north in Ontario since they go after Terre off
Not a bad idea to have around. I do keep a 12 gauge by the back door, just in case. Even if it is just used for the sound and not aimed at the bear.

Winter is coming....we have to do outside projects until winter.....then we do inside stuff. Moving one dresser and a bed will take 10 minutes

Nope.....put down a couple throw rugs and using it as is until other outdoor projects are done.
