- Jeep JL Rubicon traction control fail! and Hummer H1 in the snow after Montana winter storm.
Test the jeeps traction control to see why its engaging in reverse when in 4 low. - Авто та транспорт
Best opening scene ever! LoL love them compression ignition!
I love the snow adventures! The turbo at 16:00, breaking trail at 18:30, the copilot at 19:50, having fun in the snow!!
I subbed and look for more fun.
so glad i found this golden channel and video
@2:26
*Hummer:* “Dude we haven’t even started...”
*Jeep:* “Don’t mind me! Just got myself into a bit of a pickle here.”
did you try holding down the traction control button to turn it completely off?
Great videos guys , love hummers and jeeps , God bless
Gave your video a thumbs up, looks like you guys had a great time. My current rides are a JK Freedom Edition and a GWagon 4x4 Squared with 37" Ironman Mud Terrains. We don't get enough snow in Indiana to give the Gwagon a good test even off road.
we love the GWagons!
Lots of things that he could have done differently. He should be in low range. He should have lockers on front and rear, and most importantly, he should have aired down his tires to 3-4 psi. Those tires have way too much air in them. He also did not try to creep and float on top of the snow.
Wrong, you do not want low range in snow or mud,low range is only for pulling power, but not for pulling yourself through it,it could have went down a little in tire pressure,I think traction control was the blame,he said he could only get 2500 rpm in reverse that would be the problem!
I carry a can of starter fluid in my H1 for the winter. One good spray in intake and it fires right up.
look at me! i'm 4 wheeling but i'm stuck. what a great feeling!
looks like a fun day, nice rigs!
4:45 ish whoever laughed sounded like penny wise osrs.😆
Nice USAF mukkluks. Were they issued to you or did you buy them surplus?
First snow scene where jeep is stuck, key is to keep a low speed with some brake applied so you pack the snow and not spin the tires, you don't want to dig, you want to pack under so you can get back on top of the snow
I think the first key is not having mud tires lol. But that gets expensive having 2 sets
That snow was way too light to pack/cold, there is a way to shut off the T/C using an OBDII. Back up camera was covered and was sending a code to the comp reducing RPM in reverse. You can also kill the 4000rpm limiter jeep decided was important for the 3.6 engine .
do jeep drivers just daily drive in the AT tires or swap to AS tires for daily?
Guessing what's in the video are snow tires but, just asking. Seems a lot to keep swapping tires like that
Did you lock the hubs in the ford? My 05 350 single wheel lariat fx4 on 35s wouldnt do much in 4x4high but did good in 4x4low always had to lockthe hubs.
ponypwr don’t even try it you know them fords need gm to get moving
Do you use anti-gel in those cold temps? Cetane booster also helps and reduces the cold weather smoke.
nope just number 2 diesel! i wish they made a diesel race fuel!
I wonder if lowering air pressure in tires would make a difference
What size tires are on the jeep 35' or 37'? It looks awesome.
Cool video, lot of snow like here in Colorado, and the cold. Definitely go with a Cummins if you're looking to swap.
Lol. I knew he was going to get stuck at the end. Entertaining video for sure
You should be able to cycle the glow plugs a few times before trying to crank the engine over.
Gotta love when the nanny police steps in on that jeep!
Not sure why there's a fad to have low profile tires on a 4x4, those kind of tires negatively affect 4x4 performance and don't really look good anyway as everybody who doesn't offroad has bought into the fad so it's a very common sight now. Every truck I buy will get the smallest rims that will fit and a nice balloon tire :)
No doubt traction control kicking in I had that problem in ford f150
I live in Baltimore Md. in my life here we have had 3 major blizzards. All of which dropped at least 36” of snow in less then 2 days. When that happens they city is shut down and the National Gaurd is called in with their Hummvees.
And it still aint over, at least here in North idaho... Its a freaking blizzard outside. Im sick of plowing...
my sister is who I plow is what my friend said
@@x.x.x.shadow.reaper5758 "my friend said" yea I bet
Must be that fake global warming! Lol
I got you bro pass the shovel,,
That Blue Jeep Is Getting It!
Also you can usually hold down the disable traction control button and also shut off stability control
Something about doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. 🤦🏻♂️
yeah he isn't that good at driving but spent a lot of $$$ on equipment and in the end if he is having fun that good for him!
Finally snuck outta that sumbitch didn't we!!! Sometimes you gotta try again till something sticks ;)
What is that grinding sound when the jeep is trying to get out of the ditch?? Also good example of how computers are getting in the way of offroading.
Grizzly that’s the fender, time for some steel tube ones
Transfer case
@@morales891 that's exactly what it sounded like
That sound is the track control engaging
ROFL...fkn traction control is the devil in ALL vehicles that want to get somewhere fast.. We are used to the mud down here in Texas...I never have wheeled in the snow. Looks pretty challenging. Thanks for the 4k!
Great video thank you!
Great video
Is that the auto transmission? If so putting it in manual mode prevents the cutting of power when all 4 wheels are slipping
we'll give that a try!
lastbhatalive that’s why i hate automatic transmission its sucks to drive and i find it boring!!!!
Both transmissions have their place...our manual SUCKS in technical rocks...the auto guys can creep along so easily. And manual really has a disadvantage in deep water...you kind of have to pick your gear and never touch the clutch.
Dan Gau whats the reason why u buy a jeep? Is’t to feel the power and feel the rattle of the engine, and passion, automatic u can just put drive and go, but manual transmission you need to feel every gear, and it last long, you wanna challenge your self try a manual, or did you ever drove a manual transmission? You can tell the deference, i feel sorry for those who buy automatic transmission specially on jeep’s
@@Boiasim ...wahahahah...I found a Troll! Clearly you didn't read my post...I have a manual. You either don't have a Jeep or yours is a road queen...if you did you wouldn't be bashing auto's...they work and in a lot of situations they are extremely effective and safer...like keeping both hands on the wheel!
JK Rubicon, 35's, Metalcloak 6 pak's, Ripp Supercharger, Manual...what's your's?
Just a suggestion, in your Hummer for cold starts, I would use Rotella T-6 0/40 or AmsOil 0/40 oil, I would also use Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement Winterizing and anti-gel, it is also an upper cylinder lubricant, use 1 quart per tank full of fuel, mix it heavy. You won't have rough start ups like you did in the beginning of this video. Kind regards.....
I just put in the Rotella t6. I’ll have to try the PSDFS. Thanks.
Way of Life had a similar problem with the accelerator cutting off as well.
the tazer was supposed to fix it! not sure what the issue is!
I got to ask what's with all the grinding in clanking and clicking noise coming from the blue Jeep stuck in the beginning something's not right there operator error Maybe
Tires rubbing on fender.
I remember when we were learning to drive in deep snow like that back in the seventies, but we had two wheel drive pickups and didn't get stuck that much
First day out guys?
What tires and air pressure were you running in the JL and H1?
Juan Gonzalez I’m guessing they never aired down lol
Any reason why he didnt just pull forward, turn around and drive out?
So what was the cause? Traction control? ESS? I know you have to hold down the traction control defeat button for a while (while in 4wd ) to defeat ESS. Did that fix it?
the computer wasn't happy. it's got a 6.4 Hemi in it know! problem fixed!
Where in Mt are you boys? Sweet vid makes me wanna go get stuck. Pretty good snow for the valley
Hey there 406........ kewl vid. Montana boy living in Colorado 🤘🏼😑. Hummer is sick
Pull the fuse to the traction control when you are out wheeling.
Thats what I do on my Power Wagon but the JL has a tazer Jl installed that is supposed to eliminate the traction control!
@@Locker_Offroad clearly it didnt lol
Yeah! That was cool Guys! :))
Thx the video!
Pushing though snow is a pain. Been stuck plenty like that. Last time was 3 weeks ago
What's the noise when the Jeep was reversing that sounded like someone shaking a aerosol paint can?
back tire rubbing the inner plastic fender. we need to trim it and i think it will clear.
Great video, looks like y’all are having fun, what year is your hummer?
1992 HMC4
So I'm not exactly sure how your new Jeep is but my JK automatically completely turns traction control off when in 4 Low. Just saying
my jk turned of too the jl and my power wagon don't turn off all the way.
Some cars have traction control and stability control gotta turn them both off if you wana have fun idk about that jeep though.
Most vehicles turn off stability and traction control in 4lo.
My JK does the same thing it turns traction control off only after going into 4 low Your Jl looks like a 2015 Probably has some kind of speed limit controller for reverse In 4 x 4 because I know some of the new jeeps have certain crawling assist features
+OutDoor704 have you figured it out why the traction control still on?
no. Its got a 6.4 Hemi in it now and it dosn't do it.
Nice video and camera work.
thankyou! its not easy, and i'm still learning!
Cool video. What are you filming with?
GoPros! hero7,hero5,hero5 session, hero4.
In cold weather, leave on the glow plugs on twice before starting!
dumb question. how do u do that?
@@carscigarsscotchnwatches5158As for most diesels, when you turn the key over to the run position, just before the starter turns(for the glow plug controller) you should notice a voltage drop on the voltmeter which is caused by the high current draw of the glow plugs. It may be necessary to cycle ignition switch to OFF position between each to reset controller internal timer.
That or just carry can of starter fluid and it will fire right up.
@@carscigarsscotchnwatches5158 🤣 in past job, worked in a few places up north like Yellowknife, Iqualuit and Alert.
How do you stay warm?? Does your Humvee have a heater system?
it has a factory heater and I installed a Vintage heater also.
Was this problem with the jeep something you where able to fix or is that how this jeeps are?
no we can fix it! we need to diagnose what is causing it first!
Did you try holding down the traction control button till it kills the trac and stability control?
yes. it has a Tazer JL installed so it shouldn't be happening!
@outdoor704 I have a tazer as well and it automatically turns off my traction control when I start it but it's not completely turned off if u hold it for a few seconds it will turn traction and stability control com off
absolutely fun
M+S tires are not designed to work on reverse, so your best option is to try to go forward...
What are the specs of the hummer?
29:00
never seen a Hummer do donuts
With a 572 big block it will do donuts on dry asphalt!
Such a fun video
it was fun!
You NEED to get ahold of the High flotation tires we used in the desert. I am sure they would work as well in snow, and last ALOT longer. I will look at some old pictures and see if I can't find a manufacture name.
I like high flotation tires!
When starting it cold have someone cover the tail pipe and she will fire up a little easier
Just a question did you guys air down?
no. we were just out messing around. when we do air down we take the jeep down to 2 or 3 psi.
Gotta cold start that bad boy with a -10 binder bro. Seems like civilians hummers are just like Army hummers: 20% of the time, they start every time!
26:00 ohh noo lol
on my jk I can shut off esc in 4x4 hi by holding the button down?
jaymanxxxx is that a question or a statement?
And wut does that do i have a 2012 jk when u hold the button because traction still comes on when I press it so I need to hold the button down until I see esc
Happens to me last week same situation the protective plate gets filed with snow we you back up
That’s a manual or automatic transmission???
NICE 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The Hummer is just a BEAST !
you bet it is!
@@Locker_Offroad my dad got one they are awesome
Should of drove around in a circle with that Jeep
Montana? Where at?
Dude come on. You can turn off traction control with one click.
you don't think we tried that? Dude come on we wheel all the time! we ant no newbies!
Idiot behind the wheel.
@@user-maxim_79 idiot behind the keyboard!
@@user-maxim_79 tell me what you would have tried different and I'll give a go next time
Was he in 4-Low the whole time?
Hey if you guys figure out how to disable the traction control bullshit in the Jeep RUBICON, Please let me know. That shit is so annoying I get 3/4's away up a really step mountain hill and it shuts me down and I'm in Manual trans
Can't it be some form of sand crawl mode engaging?
Dude u need to remove traction control simply and you will be out
1- turn off the engine once
2- drive front and reverse in 2 wheel
3- then turn off the traction control
4- remove the fuse for traction control
5- deflate to 15 PSI all tyres
Then fly on the snow ⛄️👌🏼
Hafiz
100% correct 👆🏼
I liked the starting
Video starts at 10:00
👍🏽
I'll keep my Jeep TJ.
sold ours last winter! 03 rubicon with the lowest vin number that we could find we think it was number 2 or 3 off the line.
outdoor704 🤦♂️
Love my 03Tj sport 85 k miles shes not a Rubi but she works just takes a tad more mind power to find way threw some situations . love the lack of comp systems as well . great vid thumbs up both great vehicle's although the ol hummer may be super strong its also super large in tight trails it becomes a bit of a hassle im sure . short little jeep always gonna out manouver an h1 in tight quarters also if you manage to get that hummer stuck ohh buddy not easy to pull that beast out 😂 the jeep fairly easy in comparison.godbless and have fun 🚬😎
@@brshoggalyboogaly7237 i had on 03 Rubicon that was a very fun jeep! just a little scary in the winter!
Yes sir , TJs and YJs. 4.0L
What’s the best tire for running in that stuff?
I like cooper STT Pros or Goodyear Mtr at low air pressure!
Give him a break. He’s breaking trail.
I am seeing a few things possible. 1) Traction Control is turned on, it will cut power when it feels wheels spin. 2) Oversized tires is decreasing the torque. 3) not sure stability control is turned on.
nope. good try but try again.
Too Bold We Wont Go Again, with that Jeeps reverse LOL. Captain Kirk is laughing at you on this one dude.
I really like how Hummer plows through the snow
Until it high Centers that one time LOL
@@Ckcdillpickle not for that big ol pile of snow lol
I have a blue tooth obd2 hooked up to a tablet in the jeep. I can control all the traction control.. ess. Etc..
Best move was to tuen off the annoying dings and whistles if I take off the seat belt or open the door with the keys in. Makes hunting easier
Nice cold stArt... with it plugged in..damm
Is there not button on the dash to turn off the Traction control?
did work! We tried it multiple times.
@@Locker_Offroad damn! Sounds buggy- I hate to say this but I think it's going to be another year or two before they iron out all the bugs in the JL's ...of course we said that about the JK's too.... :/
In my JK there is. Never wheeled the JL
My 2007 and 2010 jeep liberty's did the same thing with traction control.
Lowering the tire pressure makes it easier to walk around in the snow.
Nice video boys
Curious which engine. 3.6 V6 or 2.0 Turbo?
3.6
Huh
Nice Hummer and nice jeep
thankyou
Jeep and Hummer at the top of the Off Roading food chain.
Homad Xfrwmso a landcruiser is the chain then
My advice if want to do that aging Put the air pressure in the wheel 10 to 15 it will be hard for stuck and make it easy
So when weather is minus you say negative but how do you say when’s plus ?
ha, positive
👍
Now that is an advert for Jeep!!
Sarcastic right?
If not than getting stuck for 10 straight minutes is such an advertisement 💀
That’s the traction control. It never disengages fully
Going Back only in 2500rpm so its limited & going in forward there was no issues to rev high would it be at he has some setting on so its not go over 2500 rpm i bet its that traction control system (TCS) Or anti-slip regulation (ASR)
your right on the money! the issue is he has a Tazzer installed and we thought it controlled it! not sure.
@@Locker_Offroad i wish you can solve that issue
@@broo_shs we are working on it ! its not ok the way it is! i will update you if we figure it out!
@@Locker_Offroad decent
Let’s play, I get stuck- you get stuck😂
