JEEP!!!!
Welcome back
i like jeeps but i would go with the humvee
I would opt for the Jeep as long as it included the passenger! Lol
Lite Brite hmmv in Moab beats a Jeep every time. Add mud Jeep wins.
Nothing like a swingers party after a long day of off-roading.
😂🤣😂
lmao
Watch her eyes around 36:48. Goes right to the guy's crotch.....
The whole reason people watch this is in hopes to see Brittany naked...lol but can you blame us?
Wiley Coyote she couldn’t help herself
The Humvee may not have much flex, but it's trailer sure does! Goodness, poor trailer.
I was thinking poor parking pawl in the tow vehicle transmission.
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony agreed
defently needs a wider trailer
that trailer is looks like a 7K at best, totally underrated for that humvee
As an old army guy I love seeing a Hummer out there off roading! I absolutely loved the hummer's I had during my time in the military... we certainly had fun in them and that trans tunnel heat is the real deal. Loved the heat in Germany and not so much in the middle east!
"What's amazing is no matter how tight the bushes are, they're always way worse on Mark's side" hahahaha brilliant.
The Humvee brakes work so well because of the reduction gear in the portals. Since the brakes are mounted inboard, the gear reduction multiples the torque between the wheel and the brake rotor.
Finally, a nice wheeling video...I do appreciate build videos, but I'd rather see rocks and dirt over cement garage floors any day.
For the price, H1, sawzall, & 40's. Can't beat that!
I'd like to see more off-road and less chit-chat
Yea its so annoying
yeah that fucking laughing was driving me insane sorry
@@zirkzi soooooo much laughing!
I was thinking the exact same thing. Only chit chat while off roading is spotting... not vloging
heck you "rOuL" what the heck type of name is hecking roul anyway? paul with a hecking R were you afraid of P you hecker ??
I've always wanted an H1 and i do love my Jeep. it saddens me to say this because I love the H1 so much but I would choose the Jeep over the H1 simply because of the community that Jeep has I've made dozens of new friends in the last 18 months and it's changed my life because of all these wonderful people. SO JEEP FOR LIFE
The HUMVEE made the rocks look pretty easy - no center diff to worry about! But new Hemi and axles in JL are performing amazingly!
When I was in the military our early model non-uparmored HMMWV's had different payload ratings 2500lb and 5100lb. I believe this one would do much better unloaded like your friend is running it with some lighter coil springs in the back. To get the Torsen Diffs to lock up we pressed the brake and throttle at the same time.
With all our butts, gear and armor in it the rig will articulate more than the one I saw in the Video. Not trying to shamelessly plug any product but those 6.2 and 6.5 motors really like Engine Restore, it helped me get mine started in the cold and they like a little transmission fluid or 2 cycle oil in the fuel as well especially if you're running jet fuel.
So I'm convinced that Kevin definitely knows how to off-road but Brittany really has the mad skills.
I agree Rusty, Britt has got rain man (Lady)skills for picking a line. I have not seen better. @25 min in she tells that XJ to back up while cutting the wheel to get that purrfect line. Made it look easy. Wow.
Never see (or watched) anything quiet like these two. They make a dynamic couple!
It cracks me up when guys ignore her directions and then finally take her line and clear and obstacle. I laugh every time.
@@shawnt4575 That's a WJ, but yeah, I thought the same and scoured the comments for similar...
Dem lines Britt!
I will have to stick with Jeep on this one. However, one thing that can't be disputed is Brit's spotting skills, she's awesome! Great vid, stay cool you two!
Brittany's spotting skills are just incredible - time and time again... Love it.
Yeah but her voice is fkn annoying time and time again.
As someone who survives on tippy and not flex, the hummer was never close to tipping. Its always fun to watch you flexy wranglers freak out when us non-flexy guys start three wheeling.
The Humvee is too wide to flip that easily. 😊
If that Humvee doesn’t have a name yet I think ‘Tiny Dancer’ would suit it perfectly! Awesome video btw!
Joshua Rounds hahaha yes that is so good
Some softer coils on the back of that H1 would probably help it out a good bit. They were rated at either 1 ton or 1-1/4 ton depending on which kind of humvee it is, and I think it's safe to assume it will no longer need the payload capacity that those springs were originally put in for.
Stock hummer vs stock jeep. I’m not a hummer fan but it would be a good comparison
Why compare apple to a orange? You have to add alcohol :)
It would not be a competition. Not sure why anyone would think it would. The US Army has them for a reason. Real Jeeps were let go in the 70's.
I think neither would of won without Britts super spotting!
It's great to see Lite Brite back on Colorado trails, doing what Lite Brite does best!
I once took a humvee to a 70-degree incline rock trail while I was in the military. That thing can take a hit and is mad sturdy. The only problem is that it requires too much PMCS.
Loved this video. So relatable to those of us who have relatively stock, or slightly modified Jeep Rubicons. Nice to see you Jeeping in different terrains. Reminds me of the wheeling we have up in BC. I only wish I had a spotter as good as Brittney
Great to see you back trailing! That Humvee was fun to watch, so different animal than solid axle rigs. And this video again proved that Brit is amazing spotter.
Fantastic cenery up there. I don't think it matters what you drive, as long as you have fun and come back safe... I still love my Jeep.
By far the best video you guys have done. Shows why wheeling is loved by so many. Your wife is a truly amazing spotter! Cheers!
Brit, you are a professional ground guide for all rock crawler vehicle’s. You understand the lines, the driver, and the vehicle capabilities. Great job!
I think everyone who drives a H1 in the military just wants one. They are such a fun sledge hammer to drive. Just a brute.
Nearly 39 minutes of video and not one guy said, "I wish I could have a hummer". The H1 is a beast. It's like a huge steel plate with wheels. Like Kevin said it just slides around to a different line until it gets to it's destination. Very cool trail and amazing scenery!!
Gorgeous trail! Rad to see that S10 in the group too! :)
The flex on that was insane. Lots of awesome vehicles in this video.
Brittany kills it again with spotting.. you surprise me every time. No not because your a girl but because I’m looking and thinking I don’t know if that’s gonna work and it does.
I've never seen this channel before and I was thinking the whole time what a bunch of happy sunny people! Lite Brite is such a fitting name for your channel. You all are having a blast and that's what it's all about! Keep on wheeling guys!
Great to see some good trail video. H1 vs. Jeep was fun.
3:41
“are we gonna drive or walk?”
“Yea”
Damn it! You beat me to it...
What a great video, nice shakedown. Looks like StepChild's CG is just fine. Colorado is so beautiful, thanks for sharing your friends and that awesome trail with all of us. Luv you all 🤗🤙
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. Both vehicles were fun to watch. And so cool how subscribers showed up!
Jeep all day of course because I’m a jeep maniac. But the Humvee was awesome also. Great video y’all
The electric auto transmissions have a manual lever, to put it in neutral. In the ram pickup it is behind a panel on the left side of the steering wheel, the Grand Cherokee it is in the center console towards the back, not sure where it is in the JL but check your manual.
Liked at 5 seconds in. You have no idea how nice it is to have a 40 minute video of yall's to watch in the morning to start my day!! Thank you! My apologies on not being able to join patreon. I can barely buy food for myself!! LOL. Definitely enjoy these videos though!!
Xander Cheney no worries at all. Thank you for the support of watching and sharing our videos
Britt’s spotting skills are off the chain!
I love both, really hard decision here guys. I can honestly say though that I love the sound of that N/A V8 Diesel.
The Jeep is awesome!! And I already know that some people won't understand why you were talking about the Humvee having much better brakes, They will think your Jeeps antilock brakes are much better, which on the highway they are, but when you're offroad rock crawling they're not. The Humvee's brakes are better on the rocks because they lock the entire driveline and not each hub separately like regular vehicles braking systems, which can allow one or more hubs to have play in them and can cause certain tires to slip or just not hold as well as all the others.
That V8 conversion is sooo good! I love the seeing the Step Child and all the growth and changes she's gone through.
First drove the Wheeler Lake trail in 81 with my 68 Scout half cab, 266 V8, limited slip rear. Of course I did not take the same lines you did, but for back then the thrill was there. Another awesome video and great spotting Brittany. This is why Colorado is my home, full of fun scenic trails from mild to wild.
Brad Shutler that’s awesome!
@@boughtnotbuiltoffroad7784 Thanks Kevin, we used to think 31 x 10.50 tires were big back then. So much has changed in the 4x4 world since.
Awesome video! I love to go back to Colorado someday to do more wheeling.
FYI- Ram trucks has a Park override lever behind a panel on the left side of the steering wheel. JL has them too under the panel in front of the gear shifter ;)
Great video guys , that was insane how easily you pulled that truck .
You guys totally rocked it!!! What a beautiful video!
Dare I say best video yet? Of course I'm a little biased. My wife and I honeymooned in Colorado. We visited Central City while we were out there. If only I new that Yankee Hill trail was there! Maybe it's time for a road trip!
Harry Bachmann definitely. Drive over to saint Mary’s glacier
the S10 and the 'Yota were the real winners
Morpheas they were badass for sure
The s10 had front flex for days.
Thats what i noticed. The trucks made it look ez.
i think all the vehicles were great, glad to see the s10 keep up :)
This was quite helpful. I’ve often wondered how a hummer would perform on trails. That articulation demo on the little dip you each crossed sealed Jeep as the winner for me.
Colorado truly has everything a Jeeper could ever dream of in off-roading and views. WOW.
The HMMWV shows the limitations of an independent suspension compared to a live axle, and the lack of locking diffs hurts too.
Brittany you have to be one of the most bad ass spotters I have ever seen.
Yeah, but listening to her.....ugh....awful.
Awesome video. Looks like really fun trail. Jelly, great job as usual 👍.
Great vid as always! The solid axle s10 was great to see!
Brit nice spotting, I say it’s the Jeep that wins, even though I have an FJ!
Brittany is the epitome of listen to your wife i cant count how many times she has read a situation perfectly despite the peanut gallery
Wheeler Lake is definitely on my bucket list! so beautiful in video, I need to experience it!
Britt! OMG your edits are so so sick !! So cool to get your foreshadowing and subsequent match cuts and it is all so smooth !
I really compliment your work. You 3 (incl Jelly) have come so far from where you started. Always cherish that history !
It’s easy to see your love for each other. It’s the only reason for your success.
It’s also easy to see just how popular you are on UA-cam. I had to be attentive while I skipped through no less than 6 commercials!!!❤️
Great to see you guys back here in Colorado.
Jeep looks like it's working great, nice job you guys. I'd personally take the jeep but the Humvee is still as awesome truck.
Humvee needs to be up armoured and have a 50 cal mounted, like we had in Iraq.👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸
Actually when the m998 first went into service around 1987 they were that ( minus cut fenders and 40 tires or course ) it was against the rules to use the doors on exercises. The doctrine at the time was that if you got into ambush you jumped out and fought it out.
Well yea because if the doors were on youd have the locals run up and throw grenades in the cab and you couldnt get out in time
And i call gunner seat
@@JKTF476 well i wasnt in then i was in from 08 to 18.... was a bit different for us..... sadly 03 04 vets wernt combat vets and didnt think that way sadly
This has to be one of your best videos! What a fun bunch of friends; kids playing in the snow and the rocks! Great to see the different rigs and how they drove. I miss my ZJ...
It seemed to me that every time there was a traction loss on the rocks, the vehicle, no matter which one, had hard tires; letting air out might have helped, especially on the HumV. The military had tires and wheels hooked up to an on-board deflate-inflate system that could change the air on the roll. Those sure didn't look the like military wheels! I've always thought the Military could have used a few thousand Jeep Wrangler variants instead of as many expensive HumV's.
How did your vinyl wrap hold up in the brush? StepChild should sounds and looks terrific! Thanks again for a great evening's entertainment! Love the banter between you two!
1st love the long video...keep then coming...great scenery and trail...fun time had by all....awesome for you 2 helping that truck outta the way....great spotting as always Brittany and awesome driving Kevin....jelly had all sorts of fun...eagerly awaiting your next video....Safe travels
Isn't it like public knowledge that Jeeps are Hummer rescue vehicles? 🍺 All in good fun. Anything that can make it is Aces in my book. Any brand, any build. Thanks!
Lol, I'm a huge jeep fan but stock vs stock I think the hummer takes it. Independent suspension gives it great clearance but something I just love about flexing on a straight axle.. plus I'd much rather pay for a jeep than a hummer
@@that1guy0219 I getcha. I just think the wheel base is too long and will high-center more frequently even with an experienced driver. Just IMO. The clearance is awesome though. And I do like Hummers in concept. I'm just a Jeep geek man. I'm sure you know how it can be. \m/
I want a jlur with portal axles. Also that looked like a m998 not a H1. H1 was the first civilian model of the m998 hmmwv.
That was a military HMMWV. Not an H1. H1's have interiors.
@@nothingtoseaheardammit yeah that's what I said
An m1115 would be better. Shorter wheel base and better suspension with a turbocharged engine
That Toyota pickup is a bad ass build, meaning, bang for the buck.👍🏼
I loved the look on your face at the 8:43 mark when he said he won every challenge he made up. LOL
When the Humvee gets sketchy it looks like my dog taking a pee.
I would like to see ya guys go wheeling with a Unimog!
Great video!!! I drove old junk so I’d love that H1 but the step child is AWESOME and extremely capable. Glad you are back together😎😎
Just want to give Litebrite a shout for being an innovator with those Patagonias
You are a super spotter, you are always right!
Awesome video! Dude is funny..perhaps a spin off?? Lol. Great flex on the Toyota and Chevy👍👍 a jeep is already like driving a brick, hummer's like a Freakin cinder block, but I would like to have one for clearing Chicago rush hour traffic😁😁👍💥💥
I'm slightly biased because I worked at a Hummer dealer for about 5 years and have driven them quite a bit. They will always have a soft spot in my heart. The Stepchild is super badass, but I'd definitely have to take the Hummer. Nothing like them!
Awesome video. Chit chat makes who you guys are. Love it. LOVE THE CHALLENGES
Jeep flex amazing. Beautiful Colorado trails
The Toyota and Chevy ... looks like it was to boring for them. Personally I'm a jeep guy but that Chevy & Toyota are impressive , the Hummer held it's own but i wouldn't take it crawling because i wouldn't feel safe without a rollbar . The scenery was amazing at the lake and i would have a blast up there with a FPV wing. Thanks for the Great Video!!
Go watch the HumveeLife videos of the H1 fleet in Moab. It'll change your mind :)
As usual, GREAT job spotting Brit! And GREAT job driving Kevin! I'm going with the '85-'89 4Runner (I'm an owner). I owned a H-1 in the mid 90's. They are incredible! I owned a few Jeeps too. So take no offense Step Child. YOU are indeed a BAD ASS! Keep being a BAD ASS and getting these kids into, and out of, TROUBLE! CHEEEEEHOOOOOO!
madandinzane the 4 runner is awesome!!!
@@boughtnotbuiltoffroad7784 1996 (I'm so old lol) I bought my first, 1st Gen 4Runner. I don't want any other year. Of all my vehicles currently, my straight axle holds a spot in the Top 10. Of my Off Road vehicles, it's always in my Top 3. HOWEVER, all the upgrades to the Step Child make that thing so F'N fully offroad worthy! Just one suggestion, and it's only a suggestion, from my unworthy view point, build a cage as soon as you can. Wishing you 2 a crazy and super adventurous rest of 2019!
I tested these for the military in 86 with the 9th ID. If he knew all the tricks to the HMMWV it would have gone even better. I must say, he did great for a new HMMWV driver. BTW, ya'll were so worried about the tipping point. Without the flex, the idea is that the low center of gravity and non-shifting center of balance or Fulcrum point, keep stability. When the wheel articulate, the weight is constantly shifting. Also, you are running a 30-year-old, perfect design against the best today has to offer. Geared hubs alone win the day. Or the brakes being located on the driveshaft. Oh, and initiate the brakes while gas is applied and you set the front and rear lockers. That one Sketch rock climb would have been a walk in the park. We took them over much worse terrain...and what, you think Afghanistan has paved roads in the mountains? Oh, and they were initially tested to stand 14 years of the worst war conditions. I only knew of 2 times they rolled. Both the same driver, (Lovejoy, you idiot.) and both times he rolled them by driving the passenger side over a cliff on gravel roads. Not even 4X'ing.
I love your videos Kevin your nuts behind the wheel wish I could drive off road like you do
The step child sounds freaking sick as hell... puberty did the step child good!
Military tip for starting the humvee. Have someone hold a piece of cardboard over the tailpipe to create back pressure as another person starts it.
My grand parents lived in Black Hawk when I was young. And before I was born my dad was the sheriff of Central City. I haven't been back there in 30yrs! But I remember them taking me up on logging roads. I must go back in my Jeep some day!
It ain't the gun , it's the gunner . You can't buy off road experience .
Yeah unless you spend 30k on a CanAm RC that thing drives you. If you get stuck with a CanAm you know you did something wrong.
Great video! poor humvee trailer definitely flexes more than the humvee but they are still great wheelers for sure👍
Hi Kevin and Britt, Last weekend I was at the Toledo Jeep Festival. I was talking to a guy from Ripp superchargers and he told me that the JL has a learning ECM after so many cycles of the ignition being turned off and on it can make changes. That's why they haven't released their JL supercharger yet, they want to make sure the tune is right before they do. This is probably why you could never get the tune right In your turbo.
Jeepdog JL maybe so. No clue
Ooooo, and I've done that trail in my 2007 Dodge Ram PowerWagon! So neat to see it again on your video after so many years, dang, wait, that would've been a decade ago. Whoa!
Drove the H1 in 80’s. Lots of countries, lots of terrains, nothing comfy about it lol.
You drove a HMMWV. Not a H1. HUGE difference in comfort. For example, my H1 has a backup camera, leather heated captains chairs with a butt-massager and an all-leather interior.
Love the video. Really, jealous it's 101F in Alabama, and yall are playing in the snow. Trails look awesome. But Kevin mad driving skills and Brittany the number on the spotter. Let us know when you're headed our way. We will get our local club to meet up with y'all. Iron City Wranglers.
This video has me wanting to take a drive to Colorado soon
Love the Colorado trails, rocks and mountains, but also green and water! And snow! Jeep still's got it, notice they trailered the Humvee. And going back to help out a disabled vehicle, that's what Jeeping is all about!
What an awesome location! Great video too you guys!!! Of course Jelly stole the show in the snow!
Wonder if you can put a softer rate spring in a Humvee?
jerry quintana you can. A couple places make them and they are supposed to make a huge difference in ride quality. I’m planning to get some soon.
The Humvee has Zero flex. I bet that is one rough ride😂.
jm8373 just hit it as speed
I have heard of soild axles, this is the first time I have heard of soild suspension, yaba daba do.
It doesn't need flex. It goes everywhere the lifted and built vehicles went with no problems.
They are horrible! The best suspension on them is from deflating the tires.
@@JeepTeriyaki the Rubicon with it's unlockable sway bar has more articulation than any other stock vehicle.
I lived in Cortez for 10 years and I have a uncle who owns a guest ranch in San Miguel between Norwood and Telluride and my aunt lives in Montrose I miss the mountains and I go back every year.... my oldest daughter is buried there! You took me for a great ride on memory lane!
Very nice video, beautiful scenary, group of guys/gals having fun, doesnt matter what you ride !
Had to watch this one as we've done a few H1 vs JK vids and in Australia the H1s are super rare. The torsen diffs are really good for being lsd and not true lockers i must say.
Funniest moment was "no mater how tight the bushes get they're always way worse on Marks side" 😂
Keep it up guys that was enjoyable👍
Yeah that got me laughing
LROR yes finally someone else from Australia
LROR ya aaron is a funny dude and has his own UA-cam channel
@@boughtnotbuiltoffroad7784 got a link, would be great to have a channel with that sort of comedy on hand.

Rams have a manual override for when there’s no power to the transmission. Pull the lever and it’ll go i to neutral. I also agree with everybody else, Kevin totes needs a bodysuit.
i gotta say, i had no real interest in jeeps when i first clicked on britt's diatribe '5 things we hate about our new JL', but following the StepChild's transformation from beast to beauty, i am awestruck! this is one Very valid use of the word, awesome!! as to JL vs H1, Very interesting!!! i'd like to see you both at Ocatillo Wells, the Mojave, Baja, or the like. the StepChild has blossomed into an offroad Ferrari while the H1 is more an offroad tractor! still, its in those extremes that the appeal (or lack thereof) for an evolving collection of parts is truly illuminated. please dont take the evaluation of the H1 as a tractor in a negative context, it's not a bad thing; the same is said about my big red pig(xr650l), but thats part of it's charm & appeal .
Jack Craig all very valid
Awesome video and scenery we haven't tried this trail out yet looks like a must do for us .ty my friends.
