IL-2 BoS don't have half the ammount of planes the 1946 have...
No, because they're modeled to a much higher standard than was possible in 1946, hence why each plane demands more time and resources with today's demand for realism in flight simming.
CUP doesn't really change the underlying simulation though, it's still very basic in today's standard although they've really pushed it to the edge of what the technology can do and that's impressive. The DCS engine has had such substantial upgrades that it no longer can be compared to the one in Lock on. The difference is like Unreal engine 3 to 4, or something along those lines.
Tomtens Kanal The problem is even the DCS is very much not conducive to a realistic flight simulator. There is no simulation of shrapnel, the damage models are very poor, the AI is magic, effects are poor, there is no dynamic campaign, and the environment just feels sparse and sterile with lack of units and no real sense of scale compared to other games

Did they ever fix the AI wingmen fuel problem with Career mode? I quit playing this game years ago when the AI wingmen planes couldn't complete missions because they don't take advantage with any of the fuel management techniques, and the mission creator was making flight plans much too far for them. Would lose the whole squadron to out of fuel, crashes.

That kamikaze run on the allied carrier group in the float plane was by far the best depiction of a real kamikaze run i have ever seen. the AA fire was thick as hell.

I love how you tend to play some of the old games like RO and IL2 1946, they`re still capable of kicking some ass.

Dang, the sounds from this mod are simply amazing. Picked this up game up for like 3 dollars on Steam the other day. It still holds the test of time & can use the TrackIR as well now? Amazing. Have played too many hours in sim with IL-2 CloD/BoS...but this one has so many planes and is a lot of fun to play. Going to have to try this mod. Thanks for the video man, enjoyed it.
Do some more -- My personal preference is Fighters vs Bomber Group.
A torpedo will sink for awhile right after you drop it. That one torpedo you dropped so close went under the ship.
This seems like the rFactor of flight sims. Kinda old, still realistic, and shit tonnes of mods.

The sound of the Do-335 sounded like a Spitfire to me and the HE-111 H-6 sounded like a Lancaster... God knows why, but hell they sounded epic... I'd love to see you do a campaign in this game!
Damn... All those sweet memories.. Played it for easly over 10 years since first time IL-2 came out and the game gave me some of my best gaming experiences.Especially with those few dedicated friends, we played the game together for all those years. Even one of those is a real f16 pilot now, flying for real! :D I missed my Microsoft Sidewinder, i'm using Saitek since sw got broken :(

This flight sim is legit, you need to play MORE.
you know you can tell your squad to attack instead of trailing you, they actually help quite a bit especially when you play this game with the youtube settings.
And this is why devil should have left the flying to the Navy. (Plz post MOAR IL-2 :D )

I could be mistaken but I believe the Mauser 213 were the worlds first revolving cannon. Not sure if ever used in the war or stuck in development though

My favorite sim. Went to download CUP, until I saw how many files are involved, and how large they are. I'd probably do it if everything was set up as a single download, but I don't think anyone has put out such a thing yet. CUP looks awesome, though.

You should check out the fw190 mission where it has another plane hooked up to the bottom of it. The other plane has a huge warhead on the nose and can glide a short distance to your target!

i own IL2 on the PS3, while im sure it doesnt even compare to the PC version, Its the only flight game i own because its the best! I love it and have always been telling my friends its the best flight game. And to now hear you say it Devil, Im looking forward to seeing more videos. Although since you got a new PC, I remember you saying something about STALKER...I would love to see you try out the misery mod for Call of Pripyat!

See if there's a USAAF fighter bomber or attack plane campaign in the Mediterranean theatre that looks good - or a Spanish civil war campaign, I reckon those could make for some interesting videos
