Hey if you can get people to leave Fla, great, It's turning into California except with more humidity. Housing prices are crazy almost anywhere people want to live right now. But I'm staying and if people leave, that would be fine with me.
Some of the changes are happening everywhere not just Florida. Our house tripled in value, or if your buying cost 3 times more. Polarizing politics are everywhere. Because of interest rate hikes it cost more than ever to buy a house. Because of inflation, wages could never keep up. Almost every state in the US has extreme weather cold short days in North tornadoes in mid west, even California has earthquakes and extreme drought in South West. So if you're not happy in Florida good luck finding something better anywhere else. If one place was perfect, everyone would move there and ruin it.

In Miami, Traffic has increased exponentially in the past 3 years. It definitely helps to be/ speak Spanish . To get any job, or to communicate with any type of repair person, medical professionals or your cleaning person. Expect books to be removed from school libraries, teachers to be under paid - we are currently 5,000 teachers short because they can’t afford a place to live.
I moved to Florida 3 times, first time was 1985 and I realized Florida caters mostly to retirees so when I retire in 2 years I’m moving back in. I’ve been to every part of Florida and love the small towns there,my wife is Honduran and prefers troplical climates and we love bird watching, jet skiing so Florida will work for us!
I love the Florida Keys. Great diving, seafood, and bars. I just never wanted to live there, especially since the Keys have quit fogging the mosquitoes. But the diving is awesome.
Fled Southern California 12 years ago for South West Florida on the Gulf with no regrets. That was a time in Florida when you could buy waterfront homes (not condos) with a boat dock for under $350K. Now your waterfront house is worth nearly $1M due to the shortage of waterfront because over a million moved here from Blue States.
Well that’s what happened to California for decades, and the influx of all those people turned our red state blue, and housing has become unaffordable!! I’m glad people are leaving California, we need a few million more to leave!
@@sandraalegria3439I agree! One person stated it perfectly, there are a lot of people moving to Florida from states where they are use to paying a lot for homes that don’t real they are overpaying in Florida, because the wages are low and the prices are unsustainable.
I agree. Grew up in Florida and (Thank God) moved out. I now live in Massachusetts. I'm willing to pay state taxes if it means I'm around more intelligent Americans. And the sights here are extraordinary! So much history, it's amazing living in Boston. Beats Jacksonvile clear out of the water any day of the week, in terms of culture, historical significance, and natural beauty.
It's crazy in Colorado too. Things just keep going higher and higher of course our houses are worth more because there's so many people are coming in but buying new homes is really not easy. I guess it doesn't really matter where you live or where you want to move to the whole country's going to hell anyway.
Thanks for validating my suspicions. My father keeps trying to get me to move down there. But I've BEEN to Florida a few times on vacations, & I wasn't really all that impressed. As a senior, I've actually outgrown being a sun worshipper. Photo aging is the LAST thing I need more of! Sure, winters are a pain in the Northeast, but they beat the hell out of hurricanes!!! Politically, I would probably prefer a red state. But old habits die hard. And I feel I have memories & a history here, whereas there, it just feels like everyone is from somewhere else, & they're all seeking glamor, & a perpetual paradise that doesn't really exist. The traffic sounds awful, too! There's a lot to be said for roads less traveled. It's maybe a nice place to visit once in a while, but it wouldn't feel like home to me.
The problem in FL isn’t the traffic, it’s the failure of the government to keep up with infrastructure due to population growth. It’s been like that forever. In NJ there is always road work when new apartments go up or new development is coming in. FL not having state taxes it shows. Plus many places in FL have no street lights which freaks me out being from NJ where we always have street lights. State taxes matter
I live in NJ i have moved many to Florida and back and the main reason is none of those, its they get into there 80-90s they no longer can drive and i or family cant keep flying there every time they fall. Those 7 reasons are not even close to this one.
Ma'am, you're just making an excuse People want to sigh to leave Florida because they wanna start a new life. Or the ones are coming here. They wanna start a new life. It doesn't matter that what people are in real life if they want to leave Florida, that's their own life Besides, Florida is a wonderful place to live.🤬😡
Having a MAGA governor definitely hurts as issues that really matter are never resolved but ‘Woke” divisive and polarizing frivolous matters are given a high priority.
Thanks for the video. Florida is a lot better than living in the Chicago area. Crime.,weather and no bond for criminals. That’s crazy. Florida politics is much better.
Older retirees, on a fixed income, can't afford the huge increases in HOA fees, taxes on increased assessed real estate values, and yes INSURANCE COST, and just the very real inconvenience of storm damage even when covered by insurance.... leaving because it's become too conservative?? I think you're dreaming inbbthat regard.
WOW, just WOW. A vlog that you thought was about real estate turns out to be A CAMPAIGN AD FOR DEMOCRATS and an anti DeSantis speech. Know where else people are leaving because of politics and the economy, insurance cost, home ownership costs? California, Washington, Oregon, New York. Come on Lisa Democrat. Stick to what you know best, not politics.
Any state, city, or country that has an influx of too many people in a short time suffers!! It’s not easy to sustain, it drives everything up, housing especially. Then there’s added traffic with wear and tear on the roads, and construction for new housing, ruining neighborhoods, schools, etc. unfortunately these days, it’s happening in many states. CA has been experiencing this problem for years now, people leave which is good, but they don’t tell you about the ones still moving here, from other states, still, and from other countries. Probably best to stay where you’re at these days.
I moved to FL six years ago and I’m ready to leave FL is overrated and you have to work 3 jobs to make ends meet smh! I’m leaving the biggest mistake I’ve made was moving here
at 68 been in Houston, been retired 11 yrs. due to cancer, moving elsewhere is really hard, finding good medical care and affordable housing is very hard once you're retired - TX is becoming a mess like CA , don't move here now
Tampa! The best place if you suddenly need a transplanted organ. Our wreck fatalities are astronomical due to awful drivers, overcrowding and roadway infrastructure unable to keep up. You ARE more likely to be in a bad car accident! Facts!!
One of the biggest issues facing my area in southwest Florida is insurance, high rents, and LOW WAGES AND LOW PAYING JOBS! Wagesbhave remained stagnant and low consistently in line with wages found in Mississippi or alabama, However the costs herebare out of control. Costs in Florida are set by the fact that every 5 years a new generation of retired wealthy northerners move here and have asset pools and net worths of 1 to 3 million dollars. The working Floridians that make 30 to 50k per year simply cannot compete in the economic market. So what's happening is the ones with money setting the prices in florida are disconnected from the working class. FLORIDAS ECONOMY is like when welathybpeople from Europe move to significantly poorer countries and make it worse for those people. They will drive the workers out of here and then it will be nothi g but contract labor from international companies that will use visa workers. We will end up being g the new UAE, extremely wealthy people staying there seasonally and the restbof the population works 80 hours per week to rent a bedroom and hear gunshots
Thanks for the info.we considered Florida but as you mentioned some of the changes in cost. Had us looking further North..SC.. Also on your political comment on people leaving a basically conservative state. I think it's good.. Maybe they would consider moving to California.. Good weather and it doesn't get any more corrupt... They can live in the most progressive state in the Union... And they don't need 2 troubled themselves with voting. It's already a no vote state and they can celebrate all the existing and upcoming policies that will turn the state into a second or third world country..
Get an education. California is one of the few states that could survive on its own outside the Union. The vast majority of conservative states would fall into ruin if they weren't held up financially by the taxes taken from liberal states. Liberal states are literally paying for the roads, schools, and infrastructures of states like Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, parts of Florida, Arkansas, etc. YOU'RE WELCOME!
I'm curious in what data you have that is telling you people are leaving, I can tell you that in Fort Lauderdale property value and rents skyrocketed over the last 3 years due to the influx of new people. The state is having a in bound migration of over 300k per year of new residents. I'm sure some are leaving but not at any rate visible
Thanks for asking. Yes, FL still has increased in population by about 2% year over year. People leave all states for various reasons and I am just addressing a few going on here in FL. There are a number of FB groups that talk about it and also it is so costly to move to a state only to discover you may not like it.
The yearly hurricanes would be Enough for me not to move to so. Fla. Its every year! Pretty Much. Its getting worse. And cost on top of it ? Think before You leap! Dont jump from the frying pan in to the fire.....yeah Makes sense. Consider everything.

@@jaredtheboss mainly the jobs have been outsourced, and employers can get away with low wages given the government lobbying, the jobs that do pay affordably require lengthy years of prior experience and qualifications that most don’t have or can’t afford to earn

The things I love most about Florida is the cold winters and snow, I also love paying extra state income tax and don’t forget all the 304’s and obese opinionated women, and lefty politics.
You are so right. Great summary of the factual realities of Florida. When I moved here over 35 years ago, it was my dream come true, but over time, my dream turned into a nightmare. I do regret leaving the northeast, where I grew up, but after I set roots, realized too late what I had gotten myself into, but there was no turning back. I currently advise everyone not to move to Florida, and whoever is already here I encourage them to leave the state as soon as possible and go elsewhere. The state of Florida is good for the rich who live here part-time and use it as a second home. However, as a working-class person, life in Florida is a struggle and daily grind. There are far better alternatives elsewhere in the US. Unless you have a specific reason or purpose to live in Florida don't come, in the long run, other states offer better options and should be seriously considered.

Lived in s.e. Florida for five years the weather is great between November and march
How good it is to know that there are still honest Realtors. Everything you have said is 100% correct. When we see people like this we know we can trust you. Thank you for taking your time to let us know the truth, I have subscribed to your channel.
Thank you. I appreciate the comments and try to provide honest opinions on life here. It is not all good nor all bad.
HAHAHAHA. It is an ad for the DNC bud.
Thank you for providing the truth about living in Florida. These young and wannabe rich people needs to watch your video.
#7 for me! I’ve been here 6 months, always dreamed of living in FL & I miss home terribly. I regret the move & Looking to move back !
I do hear that quite a bit. Where are you moving back to?
@@LivingInSarasota Massachusetts! Back to cold 🥶 I’m in North Port currently, and I will definitely miss the weather.
Well I’m planning on moving there and get a beautiful condo a quick ride to the water not on top of it. Living in NY with the long winters and crime got real old.
Having lived here for 36 years I have met plenty of people who have come in to this brave new world only to leave disillusioned a few months later...
I know this happens everywhere but I hate seeing people move anywhere and not be happy.
Excellent video , very honest compared to others who are trying to only highlight the good and ignore the drawbacks!
I appreciate that!
Don't believe everything this woman is telling you I've been in Florida since 1995 very happy here my house is just about paid off my kids are grown and they are doing very well look lady no place is perfect Atlanta New York I don't care where the hell you go no place is perfect I don't pay much for homeowners my policy has not went up at all I only paid $53 a month for car insurance on a 2016 vehicle you're telling a lot of these people BS yes some people do move because they don't realize how hot it gets here in the summer I can understand that yes houses are more expensive now when I move down here my house was 89,000 now it's worth well over 250 k I'm doing pretty good here my wife's happy my kids are happy don't believe everything people tell you this is from a Floridian
Good point!
Agree. It's how you make it for yourself. We can't live off of other peoples experiences.
Bravo Lisa! for addressing a touchy subject of politics in our state. Well done without insulting or making a stance which is risky to do in business.
I moved here just over a year ago and the noise level is unbelievable due to road noise development machinery pumps etc. 😢
This is true in Every Major city in America Except for the flooding and hurricanes but there is also floods and tornadoes in the midwest
We went to Florida late September of 2022. Before we went there, there’s a hurricane and after we came back, there’s another hurricane.
It can happen!
I was trying decide between retiring in Florida and one other state. I decided against Florida because of Desantis.
Good. Democrats screw up every place they go.
Completely agree. Wish it was earier to find rentals arouund Lakewood Ranch.
Great place to visit but living there will be a big adjustment. It’s hot and pretty boring
Very well done. You hit the nail on the head. I moved to Florida three years ago. I'm thinking of leaving for all the reasons you stated.
Thank you.
where to
Don't know yet. Maybe South Dakota.@@jaredtheboss
Move to California so you can enjoy the cozy comfort of a VOTER FRAUD Marxist government!
What's keeping you. She made a great pitch for a good ole blue city in a blue state. Time to pack up.
I love New England, we only get heat about 3 months a year
I think New England is beautiful but this Florida girl likes the heat.
Florida has no seasons. Too hot. Too humid. Rude people. The grass is weird. Hate it.
The grass is weird - ha ha 😂
Colorado grass is smooth and tasty.
I moved away from that sweltering swamp a couple of years ago. It was the worst place I have ever lived. Wonderful and honest video!
Thanks for the feedback. Florida is great for some but not for everyone.
Where did you move?
Near Boulder CO. @@Twobarpsi
My mom said don't move to Florida it will be under water. The mortgages will be under
@@sandraalegria3439I agree! One person stated it perfectly, there are a lot of people moving to Florida from states where they are use to paying a lot for homes that don’t real they are overpaying in Florida, because the wages are low and the prices are unsustainable.
I am a native Floridian and I left. I will never go back. It is so sad what has happened to my state.
@@brandonspectatorglad to have you in Massachusetts ❤
Look at the HOA Crooked Creek in sarasota. The monthly assessments are too high.
Question. Is the home owner and or renters insurance situation having any affect on people moving to Florida during the past few months ?
Yes, people are very cautious and considering many areas.
It's crazy in Colorado too. Things just keep going higher and higher of course our houses are worth more because there's so many people are coming in but buying new homes is really not easy. I guess it doesn't really matter where you live or where you want to move to the whole country's going to hell anyway.
Thanks for the feedback. My daughter is buying in Denver and it is so hard for young people to find affordable housing.
dangerous weather only getting worse cost of living is increasing cheapest rents are in the worst neighborhoods same as here massachusetts.
It is hard to talk positively with the high cost of housing everywhere.
Non of these reasons affect me...I don't do summers..or get insurance..live in a light traffic area..know what to expect
Thanks for the feedback. Florida is not for everyone.
It doesn't matter that what people are in real life if they want to leave Florida, that's their own life Besides, Florida is a wonderful place to live.🤬😡
wanna see bad traffic, come to Houston, it's a nightmare, and I'm retired, my insurance doubled in 2 yrs.
Having a MAGA governor definitely hurts as issues that really matter are never resolved but ‘Woke” divisive and polarizing frivolous matters are given a high priority.
You know it's really good that each state has a different political climate. If gives people choice versus having a homogenous nation.
Thanks for the video. Florida is a lot better than living in the Chicago area. Crime.,weather and no bond for criminals. That’s crazy. Florida politics is much better.
No bond for the charged. Chicago is not a state. Concern yourself with the high crime in Jacksonville Florida.
@@mostmost1. Jump off Lori Lightfoots nutz for a second and you might realize Chicago is horrible
Welcome home MAGAT
Floria is full tilt red-if you don’t like it go back to California .... or NY ...
It's reality
Like you!!
My dad, 2400 for car insurance, 1250.00 home insurance a Month !
Yes, I hear this more and more, especially as you get closer to the water.
Very nice 😊
I moved to FL six years ago and I’m ready to leave FL is overrated and you have to work 3 jobs to make ends meet smh! I’m leaving the biggest mistake I’ve made was moving here
at 68 been in Houston, been retired 11 yrs. due to cancer, moving elsewhere is really hard, finding good medical care and affordable housing is very hard once you're retired - TX is becoming a mess like CA , don't move here now
Love Big D and love Florida! Funny my liberal friend who hates Desantis moved from NJ lockdowns for freedom and still hate him . Good thing I love her
Hope she still loves you!
I live in NY. At least I get paid well
Hi there - thank you for this video? I know cost of living has gone up but hasn't it in other parts of US?
Yes, it has gone up everywhere.
Definitely not the same state it was a few years ago.
Where is?
You new all this before buying and or building . The gov , sales flood ins . Take out an 80 0/0 policy and bank the 20 0/0 😊
I see Florida license plates in Houston every week, Florida is a state to leave now
How about the Gainsville area? And I’m a retiree.
@@brandonspectatorit sounds like jealousy, to be honest
I need to be a snowbird. Part time on long island and part time in dunedin. I have to convince my boss 😉
Moving to Florida regrets; the heat, the humidity, the hurricanes, the traffic, the cost of home insurance.
Florida vs Illinois?
The yearly hurricanes would be
Enough for me not to move to so. Fla. Its every year! Pretty
Much. Its getting worse. And cost on top of it ? Think before
You leap! Dont jump from the frying pan in to the fire.....yeah
Makes sense. Consider everything.
Humidity, crime and traffic were killers.
I love Florida & I love driving for Publix!!!….i love when visitors come and go back home with great stories and great experiences from visiting but they need to take their big money and leave now!!!😁😁😁
Amen! Like one guy stated he loves vacationing in Florida but would never move permanently because he doesn’t want to contribute to ruining the state.
Not leaving but being 'squeezed out'
Agreed. Thanks for your feedback.
80 percent is same problems in every state..
I agree with you.
I have to leave, the jobs don’t pay enough and there’s no help for the homeless
why does florida pay so low?
@@jaredtheboss mainly the jobs have been outsourced, and employers can get away with low wages given the government lobbying, the jobs that do pay affordably require lengthy years of prior experience and qualifications that most don’t have or can’t afford to earn
The reason jobs pay so low,is because ,they are all service jobs, that require,.little to no skill. There are no factories in Florida, like there are in the midwest.@@jaredtheboss

The things I love most about Florida is the cold winters and snow, I also love paying extra state income tax and don’t forget all the 304’s and obese opinionated women, and lefty politics.
So where is everybody going?
If you’re a retiree and have kids/grandkids who live far away…
YOURE GOING TO MISS THEM!
Sounds exactly what has happened to Tennessee. You cant survive on local pay
Thanks for all the feedback. I think it is easy to become enamored by warm weather and beaches.
@@LivingInSarasota-Yes that is exactly what happened to me and I overlooked or did not considered everything else and all the other variables. It is also very tough if you arrive as a single unmarried person and forget it if you are a single parent with underage children.
I moved to Florida, many years ago from the midwest.Thought it would be great .No more winters.Problem was,I was used to working in a factory, and making good money. There are no jobs like that in Florida. Most jobs in Florida, are service jobs, which pay a lot less, than factory jobsAlso,my rent was almost double, when I got to Florida. The days were extremely hot.I left, after 2 months, and moved to north central Indiana.Elkhart county,to be exact.I found hundreds of good paying factory jobs there.Been here ever since.
@@snave59-You made a good decision. I only wished that I would have realized it sooner,

I can't believe what all that you're saying. If you don't like it here, get out, go back up North for your freeze to death. Pay $1000 a month heat bills. Yeah, you get storms app there, you get tornadoes, hailstorms, rainstorms, big taxes, land taxes. Is much higher in Ohio than it is here.
