I was red this game. I hate playing OWS, so I went for the higher mobility 8 5 10 because I thought there was a high chance I'd get the wheat port. I figured I'd be on plenty of wheat for my second settlement. This board looks strong for OWS in general, so I probably should've taken 5 6 9. I should have considered table teamwork a bit more when considering my placements. GGs.
At 11:44 you should hold the road. If you beat white to the 9 12, you win: Block their slow expansion, and secure great ore that can't be blocked by the army player. It's very possible to get there first, you have double wood double brick, can trade excess wheat for missing cards, and even have a year of plenty!
@@cymno Yep, you're 100% right. I wanted to maintain road and I was doubtful that I could plow Dylan on the 9 12. Dylan is at 0 cards there, so there's a sizable chance I could have plowed. I didn't have the YOP during that turn.
Makes sense, it's just typically with that strong of OWS 1st pick it's hard to play OWS against it, especially with basically being guaranteed another wheat spot on the way back. See for me I hate leaning so much on one port since I feel like if you didn't get the wheat port your game was a lot worse (personal preference though). Since you did though, you were killing it most of the game!
15:42 - I think I would've tried trading for the win first because of threat levels. Also, if you're going for the city you might as well pop first to see what you get. Then you could know whether a city is advantageous vs more devs.
Nice win. Gotta love a good OWS vs Road battle that comes down to the very end, and winning on a VP pull is always hype. I think at 10:55, I would've popped a dev card instead of citying. I don't know how much the additional 9-4-11 city helps you at this point, without yet having the 3-1 port to process all the extra wheat it gives you. It more so just places a target on you, and your 6-sheep ended up being blocked after this, with you being stolen from, without you having a knight to move it or any natural way to get sheep to buy devs to move it off of you. The 6 then rolled after you were unable to move it, and the sheep you didn't receive really blocked up your hand with just ore/wheat and no more cities to build and no port to efficiently use it. Fortunately the 5 rolled a couple times, and Blue traded you a couple sheep to unblock your hand. And Orange even traded you a sheep they had leftover with their own 6-sheep blocked. But if neither of them would've been willing to trade on your turn, it could've slowed down your game considerably.
Was a good game. Only thing I might've considered as well is helping orange get the wheat port. Since you have to know either red or orange will end up getting it, and both probably want it. And yeah especially with the 9 4 11 settle, orange having the port isn't that crazy, but it's very strong for red. Like if they had a chance to mono wheat they'd probably win. But yeah I think evening out orange and red a bit more would be best, but it does probably make the ows setup more of a target, so that's why it's just something to consider.
OWS. Is your style Hoping you had gotten red first spot. To develop a complete. Context and conditions for the top spot. Cannot alway bank OWS will be or roll there.
Seems as you not care much if orange take 4-5-11 cuz red is already must focusing the wheat port and besides that just a 10 sheep on distance have a pretty huge part of win-equity for such a small number, in this game you have +7 sheeps and + those sheeps can help you not trading with others and here this is good AND 10 sheep balanced a part of 6 sheep block-equity AND with that give u a liiil more road-equity to the port, more than exact the same 4 wheat which is not contr balanced if other wheat spots will be blocked cuz u not care about that.
why do you cut out all your pauses like 🤪 🤪 crazy? It makes it impossible for us to follow along as it makes the video go to freaking fast, like a robot is speaking.. too fast!!!

Woah, loving all that new animation in the beginning.

Even building directly on the 9 to take away the 3:1 port from Dylan is better.

2:52 "Honestly I can see a world"
4:18 "I guess I can see a world"
4:42 "I can also see a world"
I can see Dylan swimming in a world of worlds.

Yes agreed and agreed
Well played two player race. You never let red ahead.

I love you man! Your content matters 🤓❤️
Already know this is gonna be a banger!!
The bank comments are so rude I love it 😂

@@Miyou159 laughed out loud at that one haha

Hoping you had gotten red first spot. To develop a complete. Context and conditions for the top spot.
Cannot alway bank OWS will be or roll there.
Is it better to go for early settle ports or city playing ore wheat sheep?
Played a game yesterday where ZERO 9’s rolled. Colonist was whack Friday and Saturday for dice rolls!
Could you just show all the stat pages for about 0.5-1s each?
Well played man. You can't go wrong with OWS.
GREAT GAME DY
Do you start from scratch? What rating is that 1200?
I don't why at the beginning of the game you say wheat port isn't good. There is barely any ore so wheat will be low in demand, right?
Great game!
close game, 2 strong setups
awesome W

Cant u just city for the win at the end? 3 for 1 sheep
