I have just bought my first ever band which happens to be a Mi Band 7. I am a light user ( i do not use all the features and dont have it around my wrist all the time). I feel mi band 7 is very practical and value for money. It meets all the basic needs expected from a fitness/ time tracker band.

I think I'm a sucker for these cute Xiaomi mi bands... I've been buying all of them. No one mentions that these bands will sync all the time perfectly and give you the preferred notifications. I had them before losing some data. But if you try Garmin, Huawei, and Fitbit, you will miss how well the Xiaomi Mi Band works smoothly.
I have a Garmin watch with IOS so even when I have selected multiple apps to send notifications for scheduled intervals, somehow these still come to the watch and bother me.

I had some issues with the apps inconsistency on the Mi band, I used mi fitness app first and noticed that Arabic isn't displayed correctly, so I was sure that there is an update for this but it didn't appear on the app, swapped to Zepp app and noticed there is an update for the band that fixed this issue! It's weird that the update is app dependent, right now I'm sticking with Zepp, though I like the Mi fitness ui and widgets, hope they fix this soon.

It's frustrating. I really prefer the form factor of the Huawei (and the Honor versions, as well) over the Mi Bands, but Huawei and Honor have both let me down in the past when it comes to a few factors, the largest probably being the versatility of the apps for the U.S. market, primarily when it comes to watch faces. That may seem minor on the surface when compared to the rest of the features, but it really is important to me to have a great choice for the face. The Xiaomi Mi Bands have always been kings of that realm.
That said, you'd think I'd be jumping on the newer Xiaomi Smart Band Pro, as it should have the huge watch face library, plus the better form factor....but it sounds like that item is not quite ready for the international market just yet, and I have one of your other videos to thank for that information. I currently use the Redmi Smart Band Pro, which is probably actually a precursor, in a way, to the Xiaomi Smart Band Pro, with fewer features. Unfortunately, it has the same frustrating fastener that the Mi Band series does, but not the variety of optional choices. The mass adaptation of the Mi Band series around the globe definitely seems to makes it the most versatile choice, overall, above any other fitness band. The Redmi product does have a better watch face selection than Huawei/Honor, but nowhere near Mi Band choices.
P.S. I noticed that you very consistently refer to the Xiaomi product in this video as the "Xiaomi Smart Band 7", but isn't it really the "Xiaomi Mi Band 7"? I guess it's a bit annoying and potentially confusing for everyone, given the vast number of watches under the Xiaomi umbrella and all it's subsidiaries...and of course it only adds to the confusion when all their competitors use similar naming schemes in order to compete.
Ok, one final bit of potential confusion 😆 - The "Xiaomi Smart Band Pro" is definitely a pro version of the "Xiaomi Mi Band 7", and there's NOT a different product called the "Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro", correct??
"Xiaomi Smart Band Pro" also seems to imply that there exists a non-pro version that would be called the "Xiaomi Smart Band". Thanks again for all your great content, Mihail, and I hope this series of questions hasn't left your head spinning. 😎

Hey, thanks for this awesome detailed comment. Good to read information about real-life usage.

There is one little thing you missed, my friend, and that is sensor accuracy, which is the most important part for me. I have used both, and Huawei is better at measuring heartbeats. Another 'small' issue is the strap. My Xiaomi Mi 7 nearly fell off numerous times, and I finally ended up breaking the display. Now I use Huawei band 8 and am happy with it.

@@Noid1220 well then get a smartwatch, the xiaomi is really bad at tracking, while the other is the better choice, though i really like app capability, and be full customize, and be able to play even mini games, IT IS A SMARTBAND and in the area of that is losing hands down cause of the bad tracking, check scientific review on youtube and the person points it out about how bad the xiaomi is with science facts with real device against.

      @sollekram Рік тому +1

@@Noid1220 yea i was speaking in general, but yes people need to buy things cause of their reliability and not for their fanciness, which btw huawei band 7 is better looking, that review was biased towards xiaomi band. also the bracelet is worst, cause it breaks easier. no matter if they are both from silicon the xiaomi one is bad made and the huawei is more durable, i have the huawei 6 and still the bracelet not even a scratch, and now i got my 7 and im happy with it.
my oxygen tracking is never bad readings if you set the band very tight, it is the same as a finger sp0 almost, and the heart rate is good enough 0.9 percent reliability against a heart belt.
now the xiaomi is baddd but i like one feature the full customization of the os.
not yet available some options cause of the zep os but in previous versions you could add stuff change the software create custom watchfaces with animations smooth etc.
BUT again you dont need all those stuff in a band that really need to tell you your health status at any given moment with a good proximity.

Re connect once back in the Bluetooth range, while the mi band can take a while longer and sometimes a lot longer to re connect. So if you want an immediate re connect from Bluetooth just as good as the Apple Watch Huawei is the way to go. And if you care about this feature stay far away from Amazfit the gts 4mini the gts 3 and Amazfit band 7 have one of the most unreliable connections ever sometimes they won’t even re connect. And in terms of sensors, Huawei is above Xiaomi, they are much more precise if you compare them in detail

Isn't it a bit odd to talk about a difference of hours as a DECIDING factor, between two products that has a week or more of battery life.
It's like you are trying to count the lifetime of the sun in dog years, not to mention the difference is so small it wouldn't count as being significant by any qualified person, meaning I could most likely do the test 100 times and get a mix of result with one after the other week resulting in a different "winner"

I honestly don't get it! I have had mi band 2 and mi band 5 and find them equally useless. With screen close to none as well as the style, these devices only pick dust in my cupboard. Although I've gifted mi band 2 to a friend, just to save him from buying mi band 3 or 4.
I really wanted to try Redmi band or Huawei band last year due to the shape more than anything else, but never got my hands on one of these.

You are a bit contradicting yourself in your review. FYI I'm not a Huawei fan, I love Xiaomi (I own one).. But here are my points:
#1 Build Quality: you said the button strap of the xiaomi is less safe, the huawei band is more secure, its similar to a watch strap and has a lock. But the score went to Xiaomi? 🤔 They are both prone to scratches I tested them both at the store. The Xiaomi screen is not less prone to scratches than Huawei.
#2 Screen/Display. Did you even use these watches for a few days? If you did you will notice its easier to read text on the Huawei. It's rectangular. Its even hard to read the MENU on Xiaomi because the corners are so curved, the text always get significantly cropped.
    Additional key points for Huawei
    - it's harder to control the Mi Band when its raining or while youre swimming as it doesn't have a physical button
    - the Always On Display on the Xiaomi Gets disabled once you flip your wrist, it returns to the normal display/brightness, bad idea when you're wearing it in bed. Meanwhile the Huawei keeps its low brightness always on display even if you flip your wrist, perfect if you wake up at night and just want to check the time, it won't blind you lol.
-Xiaomi Band7 doesn't have shortcuts, if you want to go to DND mode you have to go deep in the settings. Meanwhile for Huawei band you just swipe down (similar to when you swipe down on your phone) and you immediately see the multiple shortcuts like night mode, dnd mode, silent, depending on what you put in there.
-lastly the Mi Band7 is 1 second slower. You should compare it side by side with Huawei, when you perform a back command (swipe from left edge to right) there's a second delay for the Mi Band where as with Huawei its faster to respond.
But I'm a CUSTOMIZATION FREAK. I like custom apps available to Xiaomi. This is the only real downside for me for Huawei, since they're not supported by google Play, there are not many customization being done by the huawei community.

Would appreciate help. I am interested in the blood oxygen index. According to the publications, the Xiaomi 7 can check on its own and most importantly, give an alert that it has dropped below a certain percentage. Has anyone tried this? Does it have competitors in this field? Is it worth checking a particular model? Greetings from the Land of Israel 😊

    • @bepeem

Boker tov chaver sheli, blood oxygen measurements on the wrist are from what I read not really accurate so I wouldn't rely on them with any device. I bought the Huawei band 7 yesterday and compared the heartrate with a very accurate polar chest strap and it's really accurate, but the blood oxygen is giving different measurements every time (if it works). ברכות מברלין

Especially, main menu..... if this scrolling feels good to that man, I cannot pretend what is "feels bad"

You went on a rant over an extremely childish reason buddy.
You're comparing scrolling on a smart band the size of your finger to a full blown smart watch that has a high end mobile cpu, way more ram and an entirely different os based off android or ios
Fitness bands are not smart watches, why are you expecting them to be power houses?
What they do, for under 80 euro/dollars is absolutely amazing
If you have an issue maybe stop cheaping out on sub 100 euro/dollar tech and go by a Samsung watch for 4 times the price or an apple watch for 8 times the price

Maybe it's just yours..I have found scrolling on my friend's mi band smooth..like good..not 120hz of course but something like 40hz equivalent..and it's smooth only..
It's a band..for people who don't want heavy smartwatches that last a single day against 2 weeks..
I have a galaxy watch 4 and it is insanely good but look at the price gap..and yeah I get 1½ to 2 days battery and it's not the lightest..
But these bands are value for money and fairly accurate for the price they come at..
