What a great interview. So many helpful tips on ways to change your diet, prepare your own food, purchasing products, and living a life that supports your bones!
My go-to dessert: a bowl of Chia pudding made with my leftover morning protein drink made with organic almond milk, chocolate protein powder & collagen powder with a few frozen blackberries, blueberries, and rasberries added to the blender. Yum. Just stir hard for a few minutes when you make the pudding and stir again after 15 min. . Eat cold.
I was told by a doctor if I did not take the prescription bisphosphonates that he wanted to prescribe I could not ever have another DEXA. I never went back and thought what a jerk.!
Don't ya just love when doctors try to blackmail you into taking their advice. They also write it down in big letters when you refuse cholesterol meds!
@ I know they recorded on your medical record so you can’t turn and accuse them of not informing you. They write what they want. It doesn’t really matter. It just shows me of their ignorance. I too have refused, cholesterol meds, and I’m sure for the same reasons that you have. I’m trying to eat, right, exercise and do a lot of research on my own.
THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT. I just confirmed this with A.I. to make sure my memory didn't fail me & here is the A.I. response: Q: I forget which supplements you should not take at the same time you take K2. Was it magnesium? A: You're right! Magnesium is one supplement that should be taken at a different time than Vitamin K2. Taking them together can interfere with the absorption of both minerals1. It's generally recommended to space them out by at least a couple of hours to maximize their benefits Another combo we should take separately is Calcium & Magnesium. And Milk is another one. Do not add it to Coffee or Tea bcos it blocks the absorption of the flavonoids which are beneficial antioxidants found in these beverages. The proteins in milk can bind with flavonoids, potentially reducing their availability and effectiveness. For maximum benefits, you might want to enjoy your coffee or tea without milk. Just a small tweak for those antioxidants to do their magic!
K2 is not a "mineral". It's a vitamin and does not block magnesium, nor the reverse. Also from AI: "No, there is no evidence that magnesium blocks the absorption of vitamin K2. In fact, magnesium and vitamin K2 can be taken together and may even increase vitamin D levels."
I can't wait to try the sardines that Irma recommended. I like that they come in a jar. I am also interested in learning about toasting spices. Does it increase the nutritional profile of the spice?

Would you please clarify about the Gerolsteiner water? She said early in the interview that she had to stop drinking it, but then at the end seems to recommend it. I personally love it but am confused if it’s a good idea or not. Not sure what I missed. (And are other mineral waters like Mountain Valley similar?)
Happy to respond, Janet. Gerolsteiner Mineral Water is a great way to drink calcium and magnesium. I've recommended my clients drink Gerolsteiner for years. What I noticed about myself it the carbonation in the drink irritated my interstitial cystitis. I miss it terribly. Does that clear up your question?

I'm feeling really bifurcated after this conversation....isn't it possible to have a low oxalate green smoothie? I wouldn't be giving up dairy. Instead I'd be choosing diary high in C15 from A2 cattle which graze on a diverse range of grasses high in the Alps as we do here in Italy...
Yes, it is possible to have a low oxalate green smoothie. Collards, arugula, romaine lettuce and kale are good choices. Please know…..Oxalates don’t impact everyone. I can just taste that milk you so beautifully describe eating grasses high in the Alps.

Same here. But in a carnivore diet, there is so much variety to be able to eat all different types of animals and fix it many many different ways. That's the only kind of variety that I want so I know of five or six ways to fix chicken and 20 ways to fix beef, etc..
I think there is no real data on what to eat for osteoporosis - you can find plenty of experts for any diet and she has no proof of her way. Such a waste of time to listen to this. 🙄
Ben Azadi did a whole pod on when he went carnivore his microbiome actually improved. Im not carnivore but i think the big push that we need to eat a multitude of diff foods is probably overdone

ONE MORE TIME……..Will taking Vitamin K2 help with my Osteoporosis ? Usually K2 is sold in mcg. amounts and is in the MK7 form. HOWEVER, I am taking the MK4 form……and take it in the strength of 35 MILLIGRAMS ( 35,000 mcg. ) I am hoping that you will choose to answer me…..this time, Sir. THANK YOU !❤️
@ In fact, my K2 already is in my D3. But, when watching a video on taking the 35 mg of the K4 form, I did start taking, too, but if I am only spinning my wheels and extra money by taking the 35 mg……..then maybe I should stop……IF you don’t feel it would be beneficial. ( Can’t believe you answered this time ! Thank you sooooo much. ). Bottom line I take 20,000 D3 + K2. PLUS the 35 MILLIGRAMS of K2 in the MK4. So, you are saying it is best to take both…..to help me concerning my Osteoporosis ? Thanks, Doctor ! I will continue….both.
Look up the MK4 form of K2; I read that its not good for people, rather take the MK7 form. I take MK7 for my heart and, although I've lost 10 pounds in the past few weeks, my BP has dropped significantly.

My gut is perfect on carnivore. As soon as I add plants, my IBS and rosacea return. I don’t buy into the variety concept.

Most grocery store meat is inedible. A good cut of meat needs very little dressing up.
Every piece of meat needs to be cooked a different way. You don't need a whole lot of seasoning, just knowledge of how to cook it correctly.

Oxalates play a big role in eating for healthy bones. Seems like no one wants to go into any depth discussing it. 😢
Don't fancy too much about spices, there is irritation in system, high risk of piles also, Indian eat spices foolishly and piled too much
I purchase organic spices and use them to expand my tastes and diversify my gut micro biome.
