I once lived extremely close to that spot. St. Kilda beach area is VERY close to the heart of Melbourne city, and has a great beach with relatively safe waters with no big waves. A wonderful place, but then again Melbourne and its environs are fantastic.
Special band. St Kilda, trams out the window scoffing steak and eggs with my mate from the milk bar. Magic place in time. Early 70s. Great to see the vibe is still alive then now and forever.
Globally, this has to be one of the most criminally under rated bands. I saw them in the mid 1980s in Montreal, and they are ego-free. At the little venue they played at I think they went around and said hello to everyone there.
True, I remember wandering down to a little local pub in Carlton back then, I guess Melburnians were spoiled for choice that night, we were among only about 20 other people in the audience and the Guru's played like we were a 1000 people, was straight up no frills rock, tight punchy and catchy.
Thanks mate. I recently opened my own online record store Music Non-Stop. www.musicnonstop.nl/ Feel free to pay a visit whenever you like. I will appreciate it very much.
