I saw The Cult supporting Guns n Roses at Milton Keynes Bowl in the 90's. It was super hot in the crowd. When they played Rain, it started raining at the chorus. You couldn't have made it up. I thought they seeded the clouds to make it rain. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
This band should've been huge. Their music could be heard in every rock bar and nightclub in the UK throughout the 80s and 90s. Fire woman's my favourite. So happy to see the band playing.
Loved the Cult past tense , Ian needs a major overhaul I think the Cult is representative of a group that wasted golden opportunities multiple times thanks to Ian, sadly the Cult realized their potential long after their popularity had eroded and they now seem desperate to breathe life into a fire that's long dead but for the nostalgia. RIP
@@darrengillesdarrengilles8336 I wouldn't agree! Just saw The Cult last night at Sydney Opera House. Amazing venue for an amazing band, and the Cult delivered. Not only that, but they have scheduled "two" more Sydney shows AND rescheduled the Melbourne gig to a bigger venue to accommodate for 'demand'! That says something about the band. Not too many 40 year old bands can pull that off in this day!

Agree! I was hooked after Love was released. Saw them for the first time when they opened for Billy Idol (Seattle, May 1987) promoting Electric, and have been listening since. They never got the deserved recognition, but that doesn't change the music--still rocks all the same!

Don Jhon : Agree 100%. Those 3 late 80's albums Electric , Sonic Temple & Ceremony is such a huge part of my party-going days in my early 20's. Aaah , the memories. Sweet youth.
they had the wrong name.. everyone heard " the cult" and thought "depeche mode emo band".. when theyre flat out rock/hard rock/guitar rock. BRILLIANT band. Brilliant musicians. So overlooked
Every player in the cult is way above and beyond. They are the stuff of legends. All of their songs are so well crafted for each part. There is a magical reason for every single note/beat.
I've been a fan of the cult since '85. I'm glad to never have been disappointed. Billy, I don't know why you were placed back in the corner of the guitar world but, you are extremely under rated. You are an awesome guitarist!!!
Saw 'em in 2015 opening for GnR. It was the only concert where I really didn't care if the opener ever left the stage! Still rocked as hard as ever. Got the bloody t-shirt to prove it!🤘
so amazing this band is timeless because of the amazing talent behind each instrument including this amazing artist's vocals. i am finding The Cult to be my personal Rolling Stones of life. I love them.
Never out of my car CD player late 80s early 90s. Doing 100 miles plus a day. Hammering down the M8 at midnight. Saw them on their Ceremony tour. Awesome. Just love Billy Duffy. Love The Cult!
Been a fan of you since the early 80's!!! love all that you are Ian and Billy You guys shaped the way I listened and interpreted alot of the music I listen to today and then!!! Thank you so much! How cool is Ian’s voice…can never get bored of listening to it… Duffy on guitar is just mind blowing… The rest of the band with backup vocals are so cool. Love this band since 1989 Long live the cult long live British Rock
Ian had the band drop it down one step but Dudes still AMAZING !! I think he could still sing it regular Key but has to preserve that voice . Fantastic song Wildflower always enjoy playing it at a gig !! Gets the Crowd going !!
Ian sounds a bit like a deeper voice Kermit the frog, especially during the verses of Revolution.LOVE THE CULT,watching listening to their evolution over the first four albums(spread through the whole of the eighties)was awesome. They married together so many genres.Goth, punk, new wave, alt pop, metal and rock’n’roll. Each of those first four albums represented a significant change in style and sound every release without disappointing even the most hardcore fans.GO LISTEN.
They all sound awesome, gotta give Ian a lil extra love, his voice sounded absolutely great! Hard to make up for a flat, lifeless singing performance, no matter how badass your band is (in regards to more of the "mature" bands playing live)...The Cult rules...
Saw them during their support for the "Rise" album. They were terrific. Matt Sorum was drumming for them. I rally love Rise. Among their best IMHO. Rave on!!
Embers is brilliant. Duffy crafts some of the catchiest and most expressive riffs and melodies. I’m not sure there are another two people who craft songs like Astbury and Duffy.
I used to listen to them at full blast on my “Walkman” while doing my paper round back in the 80s and I still listen to their Love album while training today. I had the honour of seeing them in concert at Wembley Arena when Ian trashed the drum kit at the end of the gig. Amazing memories, and so good to see them playing again.
Saw them live twice, including one time in an outside venue. I was almost in trance, because it was so excellent. My gf who was with me said she had never seen me like this. The Cult does that to ya...
I love that album too. They went experimental with their sound. Not a single filler on the album. The lyrics shine too. I was them in London on that tour.

my all time favorite band overlooked by most but one of the most deserving
Don Jhon :
Agree 100%.
@@raggeragnar Yep, I didn't get into The Cult until "Electric" came out, but that is still one of my top 5 albums of all time!
Every player in the cult is way above and beyond. They are the stuff of legends. All of their songs are so well crafted for each part. There is a magical reason for every single note/beat.
It's magic, music and spiritualism all in one.
I've been a fan of the cult since '85. I'm glad to never have been disappointed.
Billy, I don't know why you were placed back in the corner of the guitar world but, you are extremely under rated. You are an awesome guitarist!!!
FYI..the song that starts at 19:09 isn't called "Rise"....it's called "Wildflower"!! (one of my all time favourites)
Saw 'em in 2015 opening for GnR. It was the only concert where I really didn't care if the opener ever left the stage! Still rocked as hard as ever. Got the bloody t-shirt to prove it!🤘
Wow how many guitars are on the wall . Love to hear em all simultaneously doing
"She sells sanctuary"❤
so amazing this band is timeless because of the amazing talent behind each instrument including this amazing artist's vocals. i am finding The Cult to be my personal Rolling Stones of life. I love them.
Never out of my car CD player late 80s early 90s. Doing 100 miles plus a day. Hammering down the M8 at midnight. Saw them on their Ceremony tour. Awesome. Just love Billy Duffy. Love The Cult!
These guys are total pros and REAL rock! Saw them in Baltimore recently and they were awesome! Ian and Billy invented alternative Rock!
Bowie did it
Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground did.
Mozart did it
deez nuts did it
@Cheryl the devil did it
This was one of the best performances in recent history to me.
Hey, this line-up is tight.
The Cult's Electric = best hard rock album EVER.
Been a fan of you since the early 80's!!! love all that you are Ian and Billy You guys shaped the way I listened and interpreted alot of the music I listen to today and then!!! Thank you so much! Ian keep that awesome voice and vocal as long as you can my friend, there will never be anyone ever equal!!!!
The Cult is one of the most underrated rock bands of all time. I bought my copy of Electric when it came out and it is still in rotation today. There are not many bands from that era I can say that about.
Underrated by who???
Rain is very...I cant describe all my feelings about this song.
I cant help all the memories that time...
This night they are playing in Buenos Aires...
I wish to see this guys another time..
please, give me good vibes to enjoy their music and dance!!!

la increíble banda, excelente sonido y la voz de Ian ahhhhh.... queda para la historia, los amo
The band are awesome live. Tight as a nut. Billy and Ian are a dynamite combo
That´s a great band. It´s a shame I´ve never seen them live. I saw Ian Astbury with the Doors once though. I must say he´s a hell of a singer!!!
wow........... 2024 listening...........this is super POTENT! Hope to see them again live.
Nice to see they've grown older gracefully and been creatively adaptive.
The Cult entrega tudo aquilo que eu admiro numa banda de rock: excelentes músicas, performance incrível, paixão pelo que fazem e alma acima de tudo.
How cool is Ian’s voice…can never get bored of listening to it…
Duffy on guitar is just mind blowing…
The rest of the band with backup vocals are so cool.
Love this band since 1989
Long live the cult long live British Rock
Ian had the band drop it down one step but Dudes still AMAZING !! I think he could still sing it regular Key but has to preserve that voice . Fantastic song Wildflower always enjoy playing it at a gig !! Gets the Crowd going !!
excellent recording..... I love the Rain and Revolution remind me of the good ole days! good times in the mid 80s
These guys are on point! This band has always been GREAT!
37 years and still a fan. Multiple concerts in London over the years. For all you lovers ravers rockers and sinners...Billy Duffy rocks.
Rave on!!
Awesome...loved this group...so eclectic, so underrated and so talented.
Can't believe it's only coming on my phone now been listening for over 30 years. Awesome Music
Cheers for sharing.
God Bless
Mr. John Tempesta on the drums, who I believe has been their longest tenured drummer is a beast as well. Billy and Ian goes without saying!
Definitely.....Tempesta is a beast!
Enjoying his drumming as well
Grande guitarrista,Billy Duffy!Sempre curti esta banda e desde os anos 80,que os ouço.
Embers is brilliant. Duffy crafts some of the catchiest and most expressive riffs and melodies. I’m not sure there are another two people who craft songs like Astbury and Duffy.
One of the best concerts / moments of my life seeing the Cult amazing
i have always liked their sound. unique vocals.
The Cult - timeless Rock and Roll. Billy Duffy - has that distant Psychedelic tone.
Saw them live twice, including one time in an outside venue. I was almost in trance, because it was so excellent. My gf who was with me said she had never seen me like this. The Cult does that to ya...
Fantastic session love it. Their 1994 Album is so underrated The Cult/The Cult, have a listen!
I love that album too. They went experimental with their sound. Not a single filler on the album. The lyrics shine too. I was them in London on that tour.
