    Rossco, I appreciate these videos. I've been working with composites for decades; hulls, specialty lay-ups, surfboards, molds, et al. Always something to learn here, especialy materials & methods.

    Ross ,you may be the poorest boat builder in Australia, but I think you are the happiest boat builder on the inter-webs. Great video

    Good work Ross. Spotted my marina in the background at the start. Explains why I haven't seen BTS on the mooring for a long time.

    Nice to see you get this episode out Rossco. Interesting process. Friends are good for the soul. It’s the ribbing and back and forth commenting that keeps one smiling and appreciating the relationship. 👍👍

    What, you don't do enough composite work for your own boat so you have to go out and practice with another boat? Good stuff Ross, thanks for another instructional video.

    Sounds like me grandfadder. Buck up lad, it's only 2 yet, we still another 8 hours before it gets too dark to work.

    Thanks for sharing the process Roscoe.👍 But I did wonder why you did not take the foam out to the boat to shape to fit before you fibreglassed it?

    Hello. Thanks for sharing your work. I've already picked up some tips from your efforts. I was wondering if you could elaborate more on the type of foam you are using and is is the same as construction insulation that you might find at like Lowes or home depot type stores. If not where is a good place to look for it. Thanks 👍

    Rossco do you not get warping only glassing one side?

    • @thecompositesshop
      @thecompositesshop  2 роки тому

      I find as long as I laminate on a flat surface and the opposite layer is still green or uncured there is no warping of the sandwich.Cheers Rossco

    Looks simple but the shape is very difficult. Would it not be cheaper to just get the factory ones? Your time and materials for a bespoke one off would I would think be more? Guessing mates rates…. Lol

    • @thecompositesshop
      @thecompositesshop  2 роки тому +1

      Indeed.I think the Seawind Factory ones are about 4000 pounds plus delivery.Ron is getting mates rates Ash.Rossco

      There are a lot of "building things" channels. Yours is my favorite by far. Not only do you do fantastic work, but you explain the "whys" and "hows" better than anyone else. I have learned more about composite construction from you than anyone else. When I see channels where they're just hacking things together on a boat I know that Rossco would never things any way but the correct one.
