I like the way she takes the piss out of you when you're grumpy. It's our choice to be grumpy, it deserves to have the piss taken out of it. Knowing how to do that is a rare gift.
Getting a bag on now again is part and parcel of the job, I think we are all guilty of that. Rossco Mate what you are doing is pretty epic; I've been building, repairing and messing with boats since the 1950's. Started with my dad who served in the Royal Navy for the duration of the Second World War. I know a lot of what you are experiencing, I may add your build is far bigger than anything I would ever have attempted. One day you will stand back and say "I built that" and you will be very proud - rightly so.
Keep at it! I know how you feel, sometimes our actions don’t always make sense but seeing the error when it happens and acknowledging it is important too! Be kind to yourself!
ANOTHER massive piece of your cat. puzzle done, good work Ross and no surprise that it took MORE from your body and mind mate,.... rest and 🍺 well deserved! 👌
Flying along with the bosses help 😎 Mate I get proper ratty when the missus is helping with stuff but when I do same job on my own, switch off in my own world without a problem lol she understands after a protest that she's not gonna help 🤣 Keep up the progress 💪 👌 😎
Hats off to you , working with the wife is wonderful but at times can be very trying , especially when shit goes sideways . It is the struggle that makes the finish line that much more satisfying . You two will be sippin' mai tai's by the seaside before you know it .
Well done Ross and Janet you are a good team all this work will be worth it cruising out on the bay and beyond Ross I get the same way when things frustrate me it's not a good thing but it happens cheers mate take care keep safe
Ahh you just reached your limit there. With all you get done I'd crack up a 100x more at your work rate. I'll burn for this but it was funny in a way, pure emotion. All that heat and humidity go the beach and have barbecue or somet!
Great video Ross, If I were you I would get Janet some roses and chocolate for a)l that hard work she put in, what a trooper!!😀 Thanks for the update it is coming along.
It's huge, and I can't believe how much work it takes to build something this amazing. Tell Janet she looks really cute in her new outfit. What a great team you two are ,stay safe ,God bless and pace yourself in that heat. Lots of water and be sure to stay hydrated.
I think it's called frustration more than anger Rossco. I too get very frustrated with myself when things don't go as planned but eventually things settle down. That hardtop will look a treat when all finished.
Ross, wife based mutiny can’t be tolerated. I’ve found walking the plank improves crew morale. A Captain cooked “I’m Sorry” dinner with a glass of red wine also helps.
Well done Ross. Your wife is a trooper also. Laminating in those conditions must be hell. Done quite a bit myself but in Northern latitudes but the heat / humidity nowhere near your conditions. Dying to see the hardtop flipped.
Wow Rosco you could support a car on that thing! Definitely overbuilt lol. I wish your company could build catamarans to your standards! I would pay for that kind of quality and safety.. I so look forward to watching her go into the water for the first time… I’ve been with you through it all.
I always appreciate you keeping it real! Everybody gets the shits sometime and it is OK - you do a good job of letting go when it all works out and that is what counts!
I'm not much into sailing, but the determination you work with on this large project is inspiring! You two are a great tandem! The top looks wonderful!
Excelent work Mate I am impressed that you can work in that heat, when we hit the 25 degrees here in Denmark i am done. And yearh know how it is when someone is coming in to see you when in the mittle of some work. Well take care mate. All the best to you and Janet.
I sympathize Ross with that hot work, I work on ramps at the airport where it gets well over 100 F/38C in summers with all the jet engines blowing out on top of natures heat and humidity ! It leaves me a walking zombie... Instead of suspending hardtop completely overhead, couldn't you put it on it's side against a wall so you could access bottom 1/2 from the ground level for polishing/cleanup ? Or would that block access to something you need on walls ? Winter is Coming ! he he
Amazing! 2 questions, 1) why are you not adding rain guttering to collect rainwater. 2) why not use round conduit and use a router to cut the foam core? Thank you and I watch every video!
Good foresight in adding the conduit for the solar panels. That’ll make for a clean final appearance. I’d guess that there was as much thought in this build as actual time fabricating!!! Promise Janet a day of paddling - that will always get things straight.
Hey Ross, You need to be careful my wife's aunts husband died from heat stroke fifteen years ago. Also When I was a welder fitter when we worked in extreme hot conditions you need to replenish your salt in your body. We took salt tablets they help a lot also drink lots of water. When you sweat a lot in extreme hot conditions sodium and chloride, are the key ingredients in table salt and in salt tablets. cheers. hope that helps.
Really difficult undertaking that sort of task (I have started so I must finish) in that climate ‘fully booted and suited’ - and not at all pleasant. (It’s night shift work 😉). Amazing effort and great teamwork.😀👍⛵️
Hey Andre. We have been hammered for almost a week now.The water is rising around our village and currently the river feeding Jervis Bay is about 3mtrs up and 80cm from our floorboards.Road is closed 39mtrs from our home in a lower section.Tonight's high tide will tell the story at 2am and then it's should all start to calm down.Incredible scenes all over the eastern sea board. Our boat project is elevated at about 30mts so it will be fine. Thanks fo your concern.Really appreciate it.Rossco.
Well done Ross grate job as always. Would I be right in thinking one of your music pieces was you playing the guitar ? Regards to you and family. Mark.
I will be adding a few gutters to the top when out of the mould. It would have been a massive undertaking to change the mould to actually mould it at that time.Rossco
I give you a lot of credit, my hat is off to you buddy. I used to be like you but 2 years ago when I hit 60 it was like a switch when off in my body, I just can’t do anything anymore. I also wish I could edit like you. Which editing program do you use? I use Adobe Rush and my cooking channel still looks like crap. Cheers mate from Naples Florida.
Too bad no one invented a router for routing in those conduits, sure would have been easier. Love the built in conduits, not sure that's the most efficient layout but you've thought about it more than me.
Ross was just looking back at your laminating plywood bulkheads that you used epoxy to join yet you laminated with vinyl ester. I didn’t think you could have them within 100 miles of each other?
Not exactly. I make sure there is a full cure of epoxy, then remove any epoxy fillet replace the fillet with vinylester with milled fibre and return to original chemistry of the styrene based laminate. The minimal contact with the epoxy in this case is more than compensated for the additional strength of the epoxy bond and additional fillet.Cheers Rossco
Great video Ross. Did you cop for high winds and flooding earlier this week that was reported for some parts of Queensland and New South Wales. My rellies in Burleigh Head got flooded out. I hope you guys were / are ok.
Andrew. We seemed to have dodged the worst of it.The river in front of our home rose about 2mtrs and there was some damage to moored boats but that was pretty much it.What a bizarre summer this has been.Rossco.
I am curious IF your Beer was Cold when you got home ?? IF not, you could Chill your Beer in the atmosphere you might have created earlier in the day 🤔😬
How much stronger is a chemical bond than a mechanical bond? I’m positive you have mentioned this in the previous episodes and I didn’t retain it. Thanks!
$400 bucks ASD for Seaite wow! There is another sailing channel who like you did a multi episode build of a hardtop for their cat the blokes name is Teal and he did a beautiful job on it even joined it to his coach house roof seamlessly. Anyhow his total for everything was about $3500 USD. Not sure but I think that excluded the stainless. Just because I am a nosey bugger how much do you reckon you spent ? roughly of course.
Rossco I've got the exact same issue, according to my wife I have a tendency to just say what I think and shit to what others think 🤔. Me personally I just rather people where honest even if it's going to upset the other person. I had a good chuckle when I could see you beginning to get the monk on when Janet was making light hearted humour of how it was going. I do the same thing and alway's have done. Honesty is the best policy!!!. Everyone knows where they stand that way plus I thinks it's not really an age thing but more of a what era we was born in thing. By this an example is my missus and the mates missus are both born back in 64 and it's almost like they came out of the same mould with how they think and some of the things that come out and say!!!. Or is it that I'm just kidding myself and we are just grumpy old men hahaha 😆 😅 😜. Great to see you still making progress with all the up and down weather your having down under!!! As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Great progress Ross. Thanks for sharing.👍 I have a question. Would it have added some strength if you would have staggered the joints in the foam, or does the way the foam is bonded negates the need to stagger the joints?
Hey Daniel.I don't believe the foam has any real tructural strength until the skins are laminated so I would imagine there would be little advantage staggering joints as the resin fill and laminates would constitute the strength. In this case embedded electrical Conduits also reduce the strength which will need further strengthening with ribs or rafters to compensate for the removal of the foam.Cheers buddy.
Ross, when you are laying down the glass fabric layers, are you putting them down so the seams of the upper layer do not match up with the seams of the lower layer? Get something nice for Janet on your way home. Any woman that would let you start and complete a project like this needs all the loving you can give her.
Might have been a lot less work and faster to rout out the conduit channels learning the router skills will be beneficial when you start fitting out the interior.
I use a router ever day in our work but the saw certainly was easier without a jig that with the contour of the roof made it difficult to route accurately and much less mess.I was unable to clamp a giude and the track saw made more sense. In any case job was done and cleaned up well.Cheers Ross
Ross, at this rate your back is going to be too buggered to take your boat sailing once it's finished. I'm loving the progress though and I'm really enjoying Jannet's being part of the videos these days. Adds some "feminine class" to the videos.
Thanks Jolly. Funnily enough my back has really benefited from the hard work it gets.I used to be crippled with backpain and touch Wood, have been really good these last few years.I love having Janet in the videos too. Rossco
It's a good thing guys like us have wives that love us enough to put up with our moods. I'm sure I say I'm sorry at least once a week and let her know how much she means to me.
U have such a BEAUTIFUL & PATIENT WIFE. TELL HER THIS SUBSCRIBER IS PISSED OFF AT YOUR UNEXCUSABLE SHORTCOMINGS ‼️ NOT TO MENTION YOU WILL NEVER FIND A MORE SKILLFULLY WOMEN THAT WORKS FIBERGLASS FREE ‼️‼️ U guys are a great team. GET IT DONE‼️‼️🛳⛴. Vinny 🇺🇸
Mutiny?? 38C !!! You still refer to Janet as your (apprentice)!! Now she is going to cut your hair??//!!? Maybe take a bit off from the neck up? LOL. She is an Angel. Well, one thing ii took away from this episode; the number of times you refer to Janet by name. There is hope you you yet Rossco (LLOOLL) . ii learned about that stuff a couple of decades ago myself. Cheers. By the way >>>>>> looking good :)
a beer at end of day makes your worries go way.
I prefer to say "I'm early for breakfast" (not late for dinner). Cheers Rosco 🥂
I like the way she takes the piss out of you when you're grumpy. It's our choice to be grumpy, it deserves to have the piss taken out of it. Knowing how to do that is a rare gift.
Yes Robin, Janet takes the piss out of me at every opportunity, never changed and I do secretly love it.Rossco
Bloody legends, both of you. You and Janet have well and truly earned the admiration of thousands.
Can’t believe how far you’ve come. Remember to be nice to those who love you. They could be somewhere else, but they choose to be with you. 😉
Oh, you’re both gonna look at that beautiful hardtop and sigh...yeah, we did that!
I just can't believe how much HARD WORK you and your wife are putting in on the project. WOW !!!
Give Janet a hug from all of us, what a trooper, you are truly blessed!
Damn Rosco, whatever you hit with this boat, it's going to break. Not the boat, whatever you hit. That boat is a tank.
9:30 "no body puts Baby in the corner" Dirty Dancing. Would like to see you two dance away on the mould. Love your team work.
Thanks Tom, great reference there buddy.Rossco

Great to hear from you again Joe It is a mind blowing project that has so many elements and sometimes it can be a bit much Cheers Ross
Awfully nice of the boss to agree to be your "apprentice" on this project. 😉 Can't wait until the next video!
Thanks Dean really appreciate you watching.Janet actually is as fully invested in the boat as I am.Great to have with me building.Rossco
Nice work👍 If I yelled at my wife after she made dinner she would give to the dogs! And I'd go without lol
Keep at it! I know how you feel, sometimes our actions don’t always make sense but seeing the error when it happens and acknowledging it is important too! Be kind to yourself!
‘Don’t put baby’ in the corner - from the movie dirty dancing 💃🤣😂😝

Looking good Ross, hard slog in the heat testing you and Jannette. See you next week.
Hats off to you , working with the wife is wonderful but at times can be very trying , especially when shit goes sideways . It is the struggle that makes the finish line that much more satisfying . You two will be sippin' mai tai's by the seaside before you know it .
So impressed with you both. Amazing focus and determination. 👍👍
It is indeed a mission mate.Rossco
That was quick! Loved the format today. Keep at 'er!
Great episode this week !
soo nice att releese.. happy days !!!
Ahhhh! Brings back memories of scraping mdf and soaking with water to try getting off the mold. Montréal of a job. Dodged a missile there.
You deserve more than a beer working in the Australian heat mate! I don't mind if you get the shits, let it out! 😂🤣😂🤣
Ahh my bi-weekly fiberglass fix.
I got tired just watching that! But with the project manage on the job there’s no slacking off. Back to work!
Well done Ross and Janet you are a good team all this work will be worth it cruising out on the bay and beyond Ross I get the same way when things frustrate me it's not a good thing but it happens cheers mate take care keep safe
Thanks so much for your words of encouragement Rossco

That hardtop will look a treat when all finished.
That's a good woman you got there. Keep up the work and you'll be Sailing in no time. It's minus 30 here in Alberta, Canada.
Ross, wife based mutiny can’t be tolerated. I’ve found walking the plank improves crew morale. A Captain cooked “I’m Sorry” dinner with a glass of red wine also helps.
I agree Rod,not acceptable to have crew walk off in disgust.Cant blame Janet really.Rossco
Hang in there your doing a great job.
Cheers Nigel.
Well done Ross. Your wife is a trooper also. Laminating in those conditions must be hell. Done quite a bit myself but in Northern latitudes but the heat / humidity nowhere near your conditions. Dying to see the hardtop flipped.

Have not watched it yet but I’m voting for an ejection seat.
Amazing as usual Ross. Hope the rains aren't effecting you mate give Jan a big hug, top job.
What a legend
I remember last week when you were telling us what you were doing this week, I was thinking harmonica music will be good for this. Sure enough.
Incredible.. you just keep churning out these amazing parts. And it is obvious that for the most part, Janet enjoys working with you
That is a massive roof - ideal for lots of solar panels!
Great job and you are a hell of a man to bare your soul like that. Much respect. Love your channel.
Brilliant Job Janet and Roscoe fantastic work. Yes it has been hot here in OZ !
We have had some stinkers for sure The humidity has been the stand out this year. Thanks for watching.Ross and Janet
Great work, looking great
Thanks Mike.
You guys are amazing ! Bravo ! Thank you
Good job Ross!
You are doing great, just take care of yourself and Janet.
Thank you for sharing.
Bri, TopHat 25'
In Southern Oregon, we start dying off around "20%" humidity when it's that hot...
Haha, that would be our winters day on average. Thanks for watching Mike.Ross
love yall keep at it
\
Everyone thought Ross was mad.... build a catamaran by yourself... then came the floods of '22....
I always appreciate you keeping it real! Everybody gets the shits sometime and it is OK - you do a good job of letting go when it all works out and that is what counts!
Thanks buddy Just have to behave a bit better occasionally when the frustration builds.Cheers appreciate your comment.Rossco
I'm not much into sailing, but the determination you work with on this large project is inspiring! You two are a great tandem! The top looks wonderful!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting.Rossco
Us men don't say it often enough, but "Thank you Women for not killing us in our sleep".
Wow, from just gelcoat to mould release in one episode , looks like you’re steaming ahead here 😃 well done Ross 😃🍻🍻
Excelent work Mate
I am impressed that you can work in that heat, when we hit the 25 degrees here in Denmark i am done.
And yearh know how it is when someone is coming in to see you when in the mittle of some work.
Well take care mate.
All the best to you and Janet.
Magnifico! You two slayed it on the top in some really brutal conditions.
Cheers mate, it was an absolute mission.
I sympathize Ross with that hot work, I work on ramps at the airport where it gets well over 100 F/38C in summers with all the jet engines blowing out on top of natures heat and humidity ! It leaves me a walking zombie... Well done Janet! Maybe you can get Ross to do a little more to help next time. All in fun. Great job.
Amazing! 2 questions, 1) why are you not adding rain guttering to collect rainwater. 2) why not use round conduit and use a router to cut the foam core? Thank you and I watch every video!

Awesome job on the hardtop.
Good foresight in adding the conduit for the solar panels. That’ll make for a clean final appearance.
I’d guess that there was as much thought in this build as actual time fabricating!!!
Promise Janet a day of paddling - that will always get things straight.
It’s a bird it’s a airplane, no it’s a tank/ cat 🤣😂
Getting the shits is a very different prospect in English mate 😃😃😃
Great work guys. It will be awkward to move and install
Haha, you may well find out this week Jeffery.

Hey Ross, You need to be careful my wife's aunts husband died from heat stroke fifteen years ago.
Problem is it isn't cooling down till too late at night and the humidity rises at night here with the dew point beyond reasonable. Ross
I love that your wife joined in ……..
Hey Ross, just heard about the flood in your area. Are you alright? Hope so for your family, house and the boat.

the women we love, that have the great hart to put up with us, we are great for their love.!
Enjoy that beer mate, well done! Ross did you ever consider incorporating a rainwater gutter, being such a large roof area?
I will be adding a few gutters to the top when out of the mould. It would have been a massive undertaking to change the mould to actually mould it at that time.Rossco
Son going to visit mom in law in paramotta, don't know how close to you that is. Going to grand prix and Melbourne. 31 mar to 17 April.
